First off I loved the pizza here but the owner is UNBELIEVABLY rude and COMPLETELY unethical in his dealings with his customers!
I ordered a Pizza for delivery. The pizza was delivered missing a topping so I called to let them know that the pizza was made incorrectly. The owner answered the phone when I called though I had no idea until the next day that he was the owner. So start by identifying that i ordered the pizza for delivery I let him know that the topping was missing. I hadn't eaten the pizza yet and I just wanted the pizza remade correctly as I had paid for the topping.
The owner actually first accused me of ordering it incorrectly but the topping was listed clearly on the receipt so it WAS in fact ordered correctly. When I brought this up the owner decided that the best course of action at that point was to hang up on me, repeatedly. Each and every time I called back to talk to him about the missing topping he hung up on me.
Despite this phone experience I took the mostly uneaten pizza back to the store the next day to meet the owner/manager working the day after and report the rude behavior of the person answering the phones the night before. My intentions at this point were to show the owner/manager working during the day that the pizza was missing the topping that was ordered and at a minimum get the $1.89 I paid for the topping back.
I arrived and asked one of the girls working there if i could speak with the owner if he was in. He came out from the back and when I stated talking to him I discovered that he was the same person from on the phone the night before, and that he is in fact the owner.
His response to my showing up with the uneaten pizza and receipt was to call the police and tell them that I was violently attacking him and his customers! He obviously was trying to get me to run away at this point. (If you don't have an argument and you can't ignore them, bluster and built them is the philosophy I guess?) I called his bluff and waited for the police to show up.
Talking with several of the customers while waiting for the police to arrive I heard several other horror stories about how the customers there dining have witnessed the owner treating other customers poorly in the past. He apparently has made a habit of yelling at those who disagree with him and such. I won't provide details of what I was told as I did not witness them first hand.
Once the police officer arrived she spoke with the owner, then several customers who were dining there at the time who had seen this all transpire and myself. Her observation as well as the other customer witnesses confirmed for her that I wasn't being violent and I had committed no crime. When questioning me she examined the pizza and agreed that the topping was ordered and paid for and it was missing from the pizza, but she also told me that she couldn't MAKE him refund the $1.89 for the topping.
Like I said at the beginning, I loved the pizza here and I was a happy - going to be life long - customer of Classic Chicago Gourmet Pizza up until the night before. I would still be a happy customer if the owner hadn't decided to pull this fiasco!

Read moreMy husband & I have visited here 8 - 9 times before because we really liked the pizza & even told friends that started going there. My boss got us a $50 gift card for Christmas to this place 'cuz she knew we really liked it. We went this past Saturday night, January 20, 2018, ordered a 12 " pizza for $19.99 so total was $21.64. When we were ready to pay, my husband gave the owner/manager the gift card & he very rudely said, "You have to use the whole amount right now". My husband indicated he never heard of that & could he just put the difference on the receipt for the next visit". Mr. Rude said, "we don't give cash back", which my husband said, "I'm not asking for cash, but just the difference on the receipt for our next visit". A customer that was standing behind my husband said, "Ohhh man, and reached in his wallet to give the difference to my husband". My husband, of course, thanked him & said he wasn't taking his money that it wasn't his place to refund the money since the gift card was already paid for. So then the rude manager, after witnessing the other customer's offer, said, "we'll make it right", and then told my husband he could take drinks out of the fridge. He told my husband to take some 2 liter drinks. The 2 liter drinks were $3.75 on the menu, so the owner wanted us to take them. We don't even drink coke, so I then told my husband to just order wings to take home that we weren't paying $3.75 for 2 litter drink. When my husband ordered wings, the owner, very rudely said, "We ran out"., so then we ordered another pizza to just take home. We ordered the same pizza we originally bought without olives. We had to wait & when the owner brought it to us, he threw it at us. Upon checking the pizza, it wasn't even what we ordered, so then my husband took it back up & the owner grabbed it out of his hands & said, "that wasn't yours, but he's the one that brought it to us". After waiting again, he brought us another pizza that was burnt looking & had olives all over the pizza, so I was sooo mad that I just wanted to get out of there. A few customers saw what happened and made comments such as "Oh man, Oh WOW, and when we were leaving, we stated that we have been here 8-9 times but we would never be back again, the owner's reply was, "Oh well, there's other pizza places". I just couldn't believe how arrogant and unethical and unprofessional he was regarding the way he was treating and talking to us. He acted as though he could care less one way or the other, so I'm quite surprised that he would be willing to loose a repeat customer. The gift card was already paid for so it appears as though he didn't want to honor the card in the first place. I informed my boss what happened & requested she NOT waste her money there again as we would never ever go back there again. Even if the owner/manager would offer a free meal, I would still never ever go back there again,...
Read moreSo we usually order from here often. The wait is usually long but we used to consider it worth it. Some creepy guy that delivers would always stalk us and be uncomfortably friendly so we eventually start ordering from somewhere else. Today we called in an order and he said it would be an hour. After an hour and a half we call the store to check on the status. The manager gets in the phone and says that the delivery driver gave it to a man by the elevator who said it was his food. No one came to knock on our door. No one called to confirm. Some man signed our credit card receipt and took our food. I have an issue with that because I've already waited an hour and a half and due to the incompetence of the delivery driver that's prolonged. Mind you my mother had just gotten off of a lengthy flight. So as I'm telling the manager that I do not know who it was that took the food but he was not with us. He said he would send another order but it would take 40 minutes so we declined because that would be over 2 hours wait for food that is not worth that at all. The manager had a horrible attitude and was incredibly rude when I asked him if he would reverse the charge. So then, being that it's my mother's card being used she calls the store to get an understanding of the situation. She asked for the manager and he immediately started to cut her off and yell at her. He complained about how he lost food. Now I don't know how complicated the service industry is but yelling at customers whom you've just messed up with is not a smart way to get return business. Needless to say we will NEVER order from here again and I would recommend you don't. If you're looking for good pizza try ifratelli or literally ANY OTHER STORE besides this one. Complete tacky, unprofessional, non-friendly excuse of a business with no concept of...
