I will start off by sharing that Diane and Brandy provided phenomenal customer service. They were caring and Brandy was funny and full of energy. Diane was kind and attentive. These two ladies need a bonus as customer service can make or break a hotel, and I would not want to loss these two as they are gold to this business. I have managed numerous businesses and I wish I could find employees like these two.
My husband and I were quite impressed with our stay. The location was perfect, and the staff Diane and Brandy made our stay extremely pleasant. These two ladies made our vacation at the hotel wonderful. They were both very accommodating. I even left my phone in the lobby and Diane walked to my room and brought me my phone. Superb customer service. We could walk to Windjammers next door (literally). This is the must go to place if you visit Isle of the Palms. They have great live music, but it is a dive bar with drinks that are quick to make, so you will not find a Pina colada. LOL. Best part is that you can watch the band play right from the balconies of this hotel. We were in a prime location where you could walk to all of the restaurants, shops, and bars. Mind you Isle of the Palms is a very small beach town. You must try Acme restaurant while in town. The food is mind-blowing, sooooo good. You are right on the beach which is the best part.
The hotel bedroom was updated but the tiles in our room were coming up and undone and the TV needed upgrading as the quality was very poor and there was a scratch on the TV which effected the picture. The bedrooms were adorably decorated, and the use of space was done well. The stairs in the building need some cleaning and updating. This is a three star hotel so do not expect to be wowed, but it is impressing for a 3 star hotel! Moreover, the pillows need an upgrade. They were awful and flat. Our room was next to the ice machine, so it was very load when we were sleeping in the morning and we were constantly being woken up.
I loved that the toiletries were kept on a shelf in the lobby so that you could pick up whatever you needed when you needed it without constantly bothering the receptionists. The breakfast was good for a small 3 star hotel. There was complimentary bottled in the lobby at all times for their guests which is a nice bonus and treat.
I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Brandy and Diane for...
Read moreCurrently on day 2 of our first trip to Isle of Palms and not very impressed with Seaside Inn. When we booked 5 months ago, the front desk worker on the phone was very polite and answered all my questions but we were told the hotel provided free parking but we could choose to park in other areas for a fee.
When we arrived, we found out parking was $12.50 per day and it was in a gravel lot across 2 streets away. Also, the first room we received had 1 bed when we booked 2 beds (4 persons on the booking). The front desk worker claimed responsibility and fixed it promptly.
After getting the correct room we were shocked to see it was the same size as the first but with 2 beds. My wife, 2 kids, and I are cramped trying to move around in there. The door opens inward to within 1/2 inch of the bed and there is very little room to walk around either bed. Ironically there was a giant microwave that took up valuable counter space.
So, it's nice having a good tv, a large enough mini fridge, and I love the walk in shower but there is little dresser space and the bottom drawer is almost impossible to open. The toilet seat is broken, bathroom door won't lock, front door is hard as hell to open, and the hardware all around the room and the emergency sprinkler is rusted worse than a '78 Ford Pinto from Detroit.
The breakfast is a joke: cinnamon rolls, yogurt, 2 boxes of Corn pops, some hard boiled eggs, English muffins, and we were lucky to score some refrigerated Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. That was all the selection they had.
Our room has now been serviced, they replaced the dirty towels with clean and that was it. The beds aren't made, the bath isn't clean, and there's still sand everywhere on the floor since there are no rugs or carpet. At least they fixed the toilet seat.
It's nice being on the beach but this place is a joke. The staff is friendly and the location is nice but I can't believe they want $200 / night for this dump...
Read moreMy husband and I love the Charleston area and decided to try staying at one of the barrier islands instead of the city itself. I was not expecting a 5 star hotel based on the reviews and knowing that IOP is pretty desolate. We live near a beach so we were not coming for the thrill of the beach, more a nice stay, short drive into the city, and some beachside bars. For the people who live here, the houses are beautiful and the beach is great. For visitors, there isn’t much and without the convenience of being in your own home it can be tough. There are not any convenience stores so you have to drive to get any essentials you may need. Forget trying to find a cup of coffee in the morning. Where we were at none of the places were open in the morning. But if peace and quiet is what you are searching for IOP is for you,
Now the hotel…..to check in early it costs $75 and they only let you in 2 hours earlier, parking can be tough— there are limited spaces under the hotel and a lot across the street. The parking garage is gross. There is garbage and old AC units laying around and tight spots to park in. Our room had mold all over the walls and the headboard of the bed is destroyed. It was peeling and the foam was all exposed. If you get the suite with oceanfront patio access it is not a private deck just so you know. The pool is the size of a bathtub and just looked nasty. We visited Sullivan’s Island and Folley Beach on our stay and they definitely had nicer accommodations.
Overall, stay somewhere else! Leave IOP to the residents.
BTW….The staff was very nice at the desk, but when we requested more pillows they never...
