Stopped in for the first time today to give this place a shot. I had heard from some friends that it was pretty good so I was interested in getting over here from James Island. I got there around 9 on a Wednesday and had no wait at all. The hostess and server were both very friendly and welcoming. I got the vibe that this is a regulars type of place. I asked for recommendations and the server suggested the shrimp omelette. I had never had one so I was willing to try it. The shrimp were seasoned well and there were enough for a breakfast. It was a simple omelette with just cheese and shrimp but it was good. The home fries are real home fries and I thought those were really good as well. I also tried one of their huge biscuits that comes with it with some apple butter and it was good too (next time might have to try with gravy). Overall, I had a good experience. Food came out fast and the server was friendly. I would come back again for breakfast if I was on this side of town again.

One thing I need to share first is that no debit or credit cards are accepted here cash or check only and there is a ATM in front of the restaurant. This is a quaint restaurant quiet and relaxing very clean with kind and efficient servers that are not stretched out so far that they become inefficient.this restaurant is slightly upscale while maintaining a hometown feel with table and chairs seating with a bright and open feel that compliments the sea theam decorations now the food was everything you would like for it to be as far as taste and appearance I enjoy a pancake, two eggs and country ham the pancake was well presented with banana slices, grapes and strawberries the taste of the breakfast was great and obviously of high quality and I also enjoyed the smooth taste of the coffee. Do yes I recommend the Sea Biscuit and from what I seen most breakfast items are in keeping with other menus in the area.

Decorated with beach knick-knacks and mermaids as well as historical photos and maps of the area. Inside you have to cozy up to your fam to eat lol it’s tiny. But so cute. All the things I look for in a beachside casual dining spot. The food was excellent. Biscuits and pancakes were super fluffy. Being from MD, I often dislike the southern crab cake style as they like to add peppers and onions and such which often overpowers the crab. They did a good job of keeping the additives to a min. I enjoyed the crab cake Benedict very much and looking forward to having it again. Husbands coffee was refilled but our waters weren't, and lack of napkins at table would be my super minor plaints. When the servers are super busy and constantly running, you know you found a good one :)

This place was a disappointment. I feel like it had potential to be better.

When hubby and I arrived at about 9am on a Saturday, there was one table left, and it seated six people. Having no other seating option except outside (it was too cold to eat outside), we took the six-seater...which was in a corner and next to the kitchen. It was also directly under a vent which was blowing air directly on us.

This restaurant is very small. I mean barely larger than someone's living room.

The chairs are also small and the seats are curvy. My husband and I found them quite uncomfortable. If you're someone who is overweight, or have long legs, forget about eating here. You will not be comfortable in these chairs.

After we placed our order, which was after a single customer had vacated the two-seater she had been occupying, we were asked nicely if we would mind moving to a smaller table because they had a large group that they would like to seat at our table. My husband responded first, saying that we didn't mind. But I did mind. I didn't think it was appropriate for them to have asked a customer to switch tables. After all, it wasn't our fault that they didn't have enough tables in their establishment.

I ordered two eggs over easy, which came with home fries and toast, but not meat. You have to order meat separately from your main course, for an additional $5-$8 per order, depending on which meat you choose. A business model I'm not fond of as a consumer, although I understand why they do it I chose bacon and opted for rye toast when I was given the bread options of white, wheat or rye.

When the meal was delivered, the toast, which is marble rye, not regular rye, was cold. Not even room temperature, I mean cold. AND, they only provid ONE slice of toast, not two, like every other restaurant I have ever been to in my 58-1/2 years. I sent the toast back and asked for warm toast. When they brought me my new toast, it was warmer than the previous slice had been but barely warm enough to melt butter.

When I order fried eggs over easy, I expect the white part of the egg to be cooked through, and the yolk to be runny. Well, the yolks were runny but the white parts also had some slimy, uncooked parts, which I find disgusting. This may not bother some people but I hate it. If I hadn't already sent back the toast, I would have sent back these eggs too. On the positive side, the yolks were orange, which is an indication they were farm fresh, so that's a plus.

The bacon also arrived cold and the potatoes were lukewarm. The only thing that was hot were the eggs . The bacon was also very fatty with very little meat on it. After I picked off all the fatty parts, and ate theeat parts, the bacon did have a good flavor. I guess you would say ot was coomed properly, but I prefer my bacon to be well done. When I paid our bill at the cash register, I could see the griddle area of the kitchen. Over the griddle there was a shelf...this shelf had a large pan of cooked bacon on it, so this is why the bacon arrived cold. I betcha they do the same with the toast.

The waitress we had was young and pleasant and perky, and she...

My family visits and eats here every year and usually it's pretty good, but this last visit was terrible. And I'm not sure if I can recommend this place anymore.

We showed up around 8:30am with a party of 6 and were told it was a 30 minute wait (which is fine by me) and it turned out to be a 45 minute wait. But what was disappointing was multiple tables arriving after we did, yet getting seated before us. Multiple groups of 4 and a table of 8. Then after 45 minutes, the hostess pulled 2 of the waiting area chairs up to an outside 4 seater table to accommodate our party of 6. So why didn't we get to go before the other groups of 4 then if it's the same table?? And the hostess didn't come back with menus to take our order for another 10 minutes. She also forgot some cups and we had to flag down a cook who was bringing out orders.

Now the food. I ordered the Tree Hugger (yogurt parfait) like I have many times before. But this time it was just sad. It was maybe 1.5 tablespoons of yogurt with salty granola just dumped on it. I was confused when I got it because I thought they had forgotten the yogurt entirely. The dish was small and looked like only fruit and granola. The fruit was good. But the dish was way smaller than previous years, and with the same price tag. I would Not recommend anyone order this.

I also had the country ham biscuit which was good, but the ham was extremely thin this year compared to previous years. I don't think I'd order either of these dishes again.

And funny enough, near the end of our meal, the umbrella attached to our outside table flew off and hit my family and some other customers. We had to get it off them and wind it down ourselves. Not the breakfast experience you want for your family.

I have liked this place in the past, but lately they just seem too busy to offer good service and the dishes have...

Cute place, food is good, friendly waitress. Some of the other staff. Not so much. We have a negative experience during on our recent visit. June 22nd The host, Tyler, at door was rude as we stepped inside to ask for table unknowning that we were to wait on the porch. He snap at me . Stating we are supposed to wait outside! I came back on the porch to wait. He came out and took peoples names standing in line behind us. Ignoring us, a party of 3, without taking our name or party count. So My boyfriend went in to complain-to the mgr. he said she apologized to him. Later when we were seated. My bfs mom ordered food. He and I didn’t eat . I wasn’t hungry and he was still a little irritated by the treatment. The mgr , at least we think she was a mgr. brought the food to the table for his mom. It was not our waitress. Instead going around to his mom side of the table where there was plenty of room. She leaned into my bf chest reaching over him to the other side of the table. To place his moms plate on the table. Looking him in the face , while leaning into him and speaking only to him. It was the oddest behavior and way to serve. We chalked it up the mgr was making a point to only speak to him. It was very unprofessional . As there was plenty of space for her serve his mom without doing that. Such a negative experience . My bf is adamant that he will never go back there again. And I can’t see any reason why we would since there are so many other options...
