We booked for the national archery competition through Expedia and called a few days before to confirm the reservation. Upon arrival we were told that our reservation was canceled because they attempted to run our card that morning and it declined, however there was no reason that should happen unless it was due to showing charges in two states at once since they charged prior to checking which was when I was previously told that the card would be run. Our bank shows no declined activity or proof they ever attempted to run the card. They said that they attempted to call us but we’ve had no missed calls no voicemails. I have no doubt that the hotel canceled our reservation so they could charge double to those who were trying to check in for a large event . They said they still had availability for the Wednesday night that we checked in but not for the following nights but that they could put us in their sister hotel . I asked if the price was comparable and repeatedly asked if the hotel was just as nice as this one. I was told that the Wyndham‘s pool was closed but the other hotel had their pool open and it was an Olympic size swimming pool and that the hotel had an attached restaurant that was nice . I reluctantly agreed to accept moving our other two nights to the other location so we would not be stranded but upon arriving to the Ramada I was shocked at the condition of the MOTEL that I was sent to. The picture online of the Ramada does not share the rundown quality of the building with its sign hanging and bent from the side, nor does it show the parking lot full of tow trucks and broken down vehicles as well as caution tape around every corner . There was already a police officer in the parking lot appearing to question someone . The entrance to the lobby was through a Mexican restaurant. When I approached the desk and asked if this was a hotel or a motel I was told that although the doors are on the outside it is still a hotel . Of course as we left I asked my husband to look up the definition on the Google which does state that a motel has doors on the outside . The place was gross in disrepair and quite scary . Needless to say we did not stay there and drove over eight hours home ending our trip to days early. I’m surprised that when checking in to a hotel that is not bad quality and our night at the Wyndham was not terrible though the shady business practices caused anxieties for me and my family, no doubt affecting my daughters performance at competition. I cannot believe we were sent to a place so bad that was owned by the same owners. It makes me worry that the place has my card number on file. When I arrived home the Expedia site still said that I was staying the whole time so I contacted Expedia and let them know the situation to be sure I was not charged for the whole time. When Expedia contacted Wyndham their story changed about how the card was declined when we were there they said they had called 10 times and there was no answer but they told Expedia that they called twice and it was busy this proves to me that they lied. I would not trust this...
Read more(May 10, 2018 - 3:27 PM) I pulled into the parking lot of the Days Inn to find a horrible eye sore for a place to sleep. The images on the website did not fit what I found been I arrived but as always I have learned not to judge a book by its cover. First I need to inform reader's Sam, the manager/ owner of this Days Inn was on duty. First impression were deplorable. The sign out front is broken and the parking lot is pockmarked with potholes and broken blacktop. This is just the drive in. It gets worse. Please give this some attention.
I entered this hotel by description but my family and I got a delapated excuse for a motel. The exterior is more of the same from the out side. The awnings are drooping. Wooden shingled are missing from the three separate roofs. The right side main entry door has a broken lock. At the far end left of the main entry doors is a can of trash that is throwing up its contents all over the ground and a top of this colossal heap of stinking trash is a festering half eaten gallon of milk nearly ready to explode it's contents of yellow currdled rancid vomit all over any thing that disturbs this inevitable conclusion.
The pool area is full of used towels draped and dropped as if it were yesterday's garbage. Towels are draped on buckets, chairs, on the curved lining of a drained hot tub all seen through a white dingy glass window with an aluminum door frame with large glass separating you from the smell of what is on the other side. Holding it all in is a huge hasp and pad lock six feet up keeping all safe from that that is the terror of towels.
In room 237 which was to be the room my two boys my wife and I were to spend four days in was not swept. There are cigarette butts in the air conditioning unit below the window. The floors and rug were sticky with some sort of slime or what ever it is. It is absolutely disturbing an owner charges people to stay here.
The nail in the coffin of why I am writing this is not because of the disgusting deplorable environment this manager is willing to have people pay for a room in this dump but as I had a conversation with the manager he continued to to explain why the trash was not taken care of. Why the pool area was has a hasp with a padlock keeping people out. Why the floor in my room is "slimmy" the word he used. As if giving me an explanation would some how make these conditions fix them selves. I asked him very directly why things were like this and all I got were more excuses and backpedaling. Everything but the truth.
I explained to him these were the reasons why we will not be staying here and introducing my childern to such deplorable conditions were not acceptable and he should be ashamed of the condition...
Read moreThank you to the hotel for the experience. The hotel was clean and neat and well done. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We had a rough night with our little one ( 20 months old and first night away from daddy) and when we asked about a late checkout there was no problem and no charge. It is these little things that in my opinion bring customers back. It is difficult to travel and prepare for what happens, but it is nice when someone makes life a little easier. In addition, upon arriving home and unpacking my sons toy go bag, I found a remote control. When I called the staff again was nice and pleasant, laughed at the issue, and was quite thankful when I offered to return it by mail. Could this hotel be fancier, of course, could it have had Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy towels, sure, but at the price point that this hotel falls in I cannot imagine how someone could find a complaint. I also took advantage of a few amenities, one being the pool, which was second to none, nice! The temperature was perfect, the chlorine level was appropriate and it was amazingly clean. As a matter of fact the entire pool and patio area was pleasant, clean, and a great asset to the hotel. I hope this review helps someone make a decision about where to stay, I know I rely heavily on reviews when making my decisions as to where to stay, eat, etc. I also hope I have given credit where due, to a very nice...
