I have no idea where all these positive reviews are coming from, maybe I just had a poor experience. The server, Tyson, was fine. Never blame your servers for any issues at restaurants with poor kitchen management/kitchen staff. He was friendly, and always checked up on us. And for an establishment this new, a good server is a welcome experience.
First off, the food is SEVERELY over priced for the portion sizes you get. I could have excused this if the food wasn't subpar at best. The Ale Works Trio is way more over priced than it needs to be, and you hardly get anything. 5 mozzarella bites the size of a quarter, a handful of nachos, and 3 pizza rolls. For the price I paid, I would expect more. But I will excuse this dish, as it did taste okay. After waiting for our main meal to arrive, burgers, for over nearly an hour, we were delivered... Burgers. I asked for a medium, but they were all cooked poorly at well. I got a measly handful of sweet-potato fries. Which are probably the worst sweet-potato fries I have had, and were pretty burnt. Their regular fries, which my partner got, are just the same exact fries Runza gets from CashWa, but poorly seasoned, if they were seasoned at all. It tasted like they just threw some salt on them and called it a day. So if you want some overpriced Runza fries with salt on them, I guess this is the place for you. Or just go to Runza. My beverage was an alcoholic Kool-Aid drink, I forget the name of it, that tasted mostly like water. I was not impressed at all. I cannot vouch for their steaks, but I did overhear someone complaining about how dry theirs were.
With my bill totaling $50, for an appetizer, and 2 burgers, I would have much rather gone to somewhere like Angus Burger, Chicken Coop, or Conningham's Journal.
TL;DR: The burgers were small and over cooked, the mozzarella bites were practically non-existent, and the nacho's were gone after a few bites. Prices are over the top for what you get. Time to get food was gruelingly long.
If you are from out of state/town, as this is located near the hotels, I would be ashamed to call this "Nebraska Cuisine". Do not fall for the gimmick in the name, there are better local food places for you to get some good, Kearney Nebraska food.
If you are looking for burgers, there is a McDonalds not too far from this location. You'd have a better time just going there.
I understand this establishment is new, but boy-howdy did I have a terrible experience for what I paid. I would not come here again any time soon, maybe if it's still around in 5 years I'd try it again to see if...
Read moreWe came here after attempting Kyotos and Red Lobster (which were an hour wait). There was no wait here, and I kind of understand why. First issue: I'm not sure exactly how long we waited for anyone to approach our table, but it was between 5 and 10 minutes.
Second issue: We waited at least a half hour for our food... probably closer to 40 minutes, though, but my husband received his salad probably after about 20-25 minutes. However... he didn't get any silverware for anothet 10 minutes after. I asked two different people for silverware. The first one said yeah, and disappeared into the kitchen, never to be seen again. The second person told me they ran out of silverware... didn't know where all their silverware went, and that it was coming out of the wash at that moment - but our server never came to tell us that at any point. Our server was pretty scarce in general.
We finally received most of our food, but only one kids' meal came, so one of our kids didn't get theirs still for even a few more minutes. I don't even understand why, because I'm pretty sure all it was was boxed Kraft Mac and cheese, and logically, the kids meals should have come out first. My husband got the duck gumbo, which he enjoyed, and I got a chopped salad, which was just okay.
Last issue: This obviously is only an issue for mothers with young kids, but the changing table in the women's bathroom is in literally the darkest spot of the bathroom. There was no light above it whatsoever, so it was extremely frustrating trying to change my son's dirty diaper in there - especially since he had done a #2.
We are from out of state, so we most likely will never be back here anyway, but even if we were locals, I'd most likely...
Read moreMy husband and I were visiting from Colorado and were told this restaurant was good. It was close to our hotel so that WAS good but, the water tasted TERRIBLE, the side salad turned out to be a GIGANTIC dinner salad that really wasn’t very tasty, kinda soggy. When we just started eating our huge salad, our pasta and French bread was brought out…we sent it back so that we could attempt to eat the salad. The server was nice and took it back saying that she’d keep it warm for us. We thanked her and when we were done with our salad our pasta and garlic bread was brought out. The garlic bread had been made fresh but the pasta was NOT fresh and NOT hot. By the time we both finished our big salad, the little bit of pasta we ate was too much, and too cold to eat.I have to say that the restaurant has a great atmosphere, WONDERFUL wait staff (especially Abby, our sweet waitress, ALL with TOP NOTCH customer service skills, even the manager who listened to all of our complaints and gave us a discount. Suggestions (that I gave to the manager) 1. Get a water purification system 2. Have a side salad available that is crispy and fresh 3.Instruct the kitchen staff not even to begin making the entree until the customer is almost done with their salad so that their entree is not only freshly made but hot as well. We were very disappointed in our visit there. We will NOT be...
