Comfort Inn Kearney I-80 — Hotel in Kearney

What a great place to stay! The whole place was spotlessly clean-- lobby, breakfast area, public restrooms, pool, guest rooms and bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and I appreciated the mix of firmer and softer pillows, as explained by a little sign on the bed. Very nice to have a microwave and minifridge in every room! The breakfast was very good--hot, fresh food and a wide variety of options, many of which were very healthy. I eat a low-carb diet and I really appreciated the options I had that weren't cereal and pastries.

The customer service was excellent also. I needed to do some laundry and the employees at the desk were happy to make change for me for the machines, as well as helped me out when the detergent dispenser "ate" my quarters without dispensing any detergent. Just ask at the desk for laundry detergent if you need it!

My only "complaint" is that the rooms are not baby-proofed at all, but that's true for any hotel. Lots of buttons to push, switches, plugs, etc., plus my little ones kept trying to play with the fridge and microwave and could let themselves out of the room if the extra security latch wasn't engaged. Something to be aware of if you stay at any hotel with small children!

The front desk was very kind. Parking was very open, well lit & easy accessible to the side entrance that requires a room key for security. The location overall is very neat, clean & inviting. Our room was lovely. Wide doorways appreciated. The color pallette of the room really emphasizes the high ceilings in the room to create a calm and spacious vibe. Not much a view no matter what room you get or which way you face unfortunately its kearney. The pool is room key required. The pool is 3ft-5.5ft deep. Pool lift available. Open 5am-11pm. Nice tables and chairs nicely placed around the pool & outside in the patio that is accessible from the pool area room key required to gain entrance back into the pool area from the patio. Guest laundry can be found in the pool area as well. 1.25 per load washer & dryer. A single packet of 1 load detergent & 1 load liquid fabric softener available for 1.25 dispensed. We had a loved one in the hospital at Kearney regional and the nursing staff told us to go to Comfort Inn. The next morning we went down to breakfast and the first person that we ran into was the front desk clerk named Katie. She said good morning to us as soon as she seen us and asked what we were in Kearney for and we told her that our mother and mother-in-law was in the hospital there, and she immediately asked her name and told us that she would pray for her. As we sat and ate breakfast we watched her interact with ALL the guests just like she did I us, like she had known them all of her life! What a HUGE ASSET Katie is to this property! I worked with Wyndham hotels for 20 years in management and if I still had a hotel, I would’ve tried to steal her away from you! She was so good at her job! She should be running your front desk and possibly your hotel! She will be one of the only reasons that I ever go back there is just to see her!
