First let me say , I love staying at Best Westerns , I’m a platinum member. This Best Western has to be privately owned because it’s not your normal BW. I will not return to this one. Check out ALL pics . The lobby was nice, staff was friendly when we checked in. They informed us the Breakfast was next door in the back of the Italian Restaurant. That should have been our first red flag. We got to our room , it was a nice & larger than most rooms I’ve stayed in, very clean , right by pool.Loved the location. Where do I start … needed Ice but could not find a ICE bucket, the toilet would not flush correctly . Went to call front desk but there was NO phone. All room information was there and what number to dial, “0” for front desk , but no phone. Found number to call from cell and front desk said they had no one to fix toilet that night, no rooms to move us to (We saw several rooms empty) they did not have a phone for the room . We would have to wait till next day. I Went to front desk to get an ice bucket & plunger for toilet. She said they didn’t have any buckets. I said well what can I put Ice in.. she said I don’t know. I was shocked . Ok then do you have the cold comp bottled water for members .. she said no. Went back to room to find toilet was about to overflow . Called her back from cell, she did come to room with a plunger. She would not leave it for us cause it’s the only one they had. So we battled the toilet all night, not happy about that . I really thought at this point I was being pranked, Never had I had an experience like this. Next morning we go to the closed Italian restaurant next door, thru side door, strange. Not your normal BW breakfast. No toast or bread of any kind, only rasin bagels. The only hot food they had was eggs, sausage that were not very hot. Oatmeal but no hot water, Cereal & muffins with milk and yogurt in a fridge that was not cold at all. Choose not to drink the warm milk out of safety concern. Needless to say we grabbed an apple & orange and left . It was just weird eating in a closed dark restaurant. See video. The maintenance man did come the next day afternoon and fixed toilet and brought a phone. But not with out repercussions…. He did not speak English and was sure to come to pool AFTER work to let us know he fixed it and wanted to hang out with us .. very creepy . Went and got his swim suit & friends and kept trying to I think ask for number , wanted to come to our room, us go to his room .. for drink or food , not sure . All in very awkward conversation & hand motions as he did not speak English. We left pool to eat dinner and when we returned, He was still at pool with friends drinking . Came to our room to try and talk again, wanting to shake hands repeatedly, telling us how pretty we were and wanting us to go with him, with his friends. They were all drunk out at pool. Very uncomfortable feeling so we went inside. No harm done just VERY unprofessional and VERY uncomfortable for us. Not recommended for women friends traveling alone. Side note-Never brought an ice bucket so we used to go bags from Italian restaurant to triple line the washed trash can...
Read moreI have been to Kerrville multiple times and have stayed in multiple hotels here. I have had great experiences recently staying at a Best Western, so I booked this place at the last minute. I had to laugh at the previous reviewer who "didnt know it was more of a motel with the doors on the outside". Well DUH. Did you NOT check the pictures of the place first? This is an older property right off IH10 coming into Kerrville. The woman working the front desk was very pleasant and friendly. She explained there was free breakfast on the back side of the Italian restaurant that was right next door. The room was very comfortable. You could tell they did spend some money updating the rooms. It was not a cheap, "lipstick on the pig" job that most lower priced hotels do. The tub was nice. It was actual metal, instead of those silly plastic ones. The property is fairly quiet, other than the random motorcycle riders who are pulling in. The parking lot is a tad bit awkward as you have to pull around to the back if your room is on the second floor. That usually keeps you from having to go up and down stairs. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The beds are usually hard as a rock; but, this one was comfy. I got a king room. There as not another bed in it, so there was plenty of room to move around. The WiFi was 50 Mbps, which was impressive as I have seen some hotels with 5 Mbps and if you wanted faster, they charged you 10 Mbps. We did check out the breakfast. We were told it was a "buffet" style. I was a tad bit disappointed when it was grab and go muffins, juice, and make your own pancakes from a machine, but definitely not the worst free breakfast I seen.
Overall, this was a very comfortable stay. The building is old and has some quirks, but very retro. If you are looking for an inexpensive stay while you are here in Kerrville, I would definitely check...
Read moreAfter 17 plus hours on the road with 4 kids- 4, 3, 1 1/2, and 4 months, was super excited and to find a hotel with great reviews and a Cracker Barrel in the parking lot. Looking forward to a relaxing, clean room to recharge in, and a nice meal after all the junk food that's eaten on the road. The meal was great, unfortunately the relaxing clean room was only a thought and not a reality. It was 1030 when I checked in, and unfortunately I had prepaid and was in a nonrefundable room, or else I surely would have left. The vents were dirty appearing to not have been cleaned in months , toilet and shower were cracked, but the worst of the worst were the ceilings and floors-- the ceilings were brown and molded, seems there was water damage at some point that grew into disgusting mold. And the carpets were so sticky it felt like walking on tile where soda had spilt and dried up. Flip flops literally sticking with every step. The only response from the front desk was "well I don't doubt it" as if to understand there is a problem that has been brought to attention of the management but its above their heads therefore they can do nothing about it because management doesn't care. I was offered a few extra best western rewards points, which dont amount to much, nor do they make up for the disgusting environment my kids and I were in...And unfortunately the 800 number for customer service pretty much said they would pass my feedback to that locations management. I would expect some sort of reimbursement for the money I spent as all my misfortunes have been documented with pictures. I'm out over 100$, and was completely miserable and...
