★☆☆☆☆ Absolutely terrible experience. This place barely even looked like a steakhouse inside—more like a confused diner with zero identity. But the real issue? The blatant disregard for food allergies.
My wife clearly explained to our waitress that she is deathly allergic to onions and specifically asked about the chicken and potato bowl. The waitress assured us—twice—that there were no onions, just garlic and potato skins. Despite this, the dish came out with onions, which my wife noticed immediately before even taking a bite because she immediately found she was not breathing very well because of the onions and the first stages of an anaphylactic reaction had begun. She had to take Benadryl on the spot and step outside to start recovery.
What’s worse? The restaurant was nearly empty (maybe 15-20 people total), but it still took 45 minutes to get simple, no-frills food like pork chops and chicken fried steak. There were plenty of staff standing around, but apparently no sense of urgency or professionalism.
The waitress did come back to apologize and admitted that even after asking the kitchen and other staff, nobody knew what ingredients were in the garlic potatoes. That is unacceptable. You cannot run a restaurant and serve food when your entire team is clueless about what’s in the dishes. This isn’t just bad service—it’s dangerous.
The food? Mediocre at best. The service? Inexcusable. The response to a life-threatening situation? Virtually nonexistent. No manager checked in, and no one showed genuine concern.
Our bill for five people (after removing one meal) still came to $150—with just two margaritas and an appetizer of fried pickles. Outrageous.
We will never return, and I would strongly caution anyone with food allergies—or any expectation of basic competency—to stay far away. This place is...
Read moreWe arrived at 2:40 pm. We were immediately greeted and asked to wait for a table (15 -20 min), so we gave our name and sat down. About 30 minutes later the hostess comes to tell us that they had a large group earlier and still weren’t caught up and if we minded waiting longer. My husband asked if we could be seated at a table and get some tea. The hostess said no but that we could have a seat at the bar and get something to drink. Now, during this time we had seen anywhere from 4 - 5 different groups leave and empty tables. We got our tea and visited with the super sweet bartender (her name escapes me) During this time people were coming in and being told to wait and they just left. Then more people came and they were being seated be the hostess. We watched 3 tables get seated before my husband went and told the hostess that we should have been seated before any of those folks and she says to him, you didn’t order at the bar? He said we don’t want to eat at the bar, we want to eat at a table. Then a very sweet waitress named Jessica C. came over told us to sit wherever we wanted and she would be happy to take care of us. I mentioned to her that the hostess was asking waitstaff if they wanted a table and they were all saying no, however she should have been seating tables and telling them that they had a table waiting. Hospitality 101. Anyway… We both had boudin balls for an appetizer then Steak Oscar as our entrees (it was absolutely delicious) then for dessert I got the Crème Brûlée cheesecake and my hubby had pecan pie cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was all amazing. Jessica C. turned our terrible first visit into one that we actually ended up enjoying and we greatly appreciated her doing so. We will send our friends and family, but we will make sure to tell them to go after 4 and ask...
Read moreUpdate 6-9-23 = final visit, as this saga comes to an end. Can't go back. You shouldn't either. Burger is the only decent item. My wife's ribeye was a lousy cut of beef (was it even beef?), it was prepared perfectly rare, but $36 lousy meat is $36 lousy meat. The asparagus was cold and all fiber stalks. Her martini was a disaster. Poor quality, and made dirty which she did not ask for. Never have had a good drink there. No greeting when we entered, no one on duty, empty at late lunch hour, no bartender to be seen, they are clearly failing and going under. Our service however was great from the very nice young lady, she was the only one we saw on duty. Goodbye 5D.
Update 5-20-2023 = now a one star and I'd go zero if possible. Another visit, another lousy experience. Still trying to use up a gift certificate. This time tried the country fried steak (their specialty!) and god it was awful. Wife tried the patty melt, just ok and it's all severely overpriced. Long wait for the food (over half hour, may have been 40 minutes, should have set a stopwatch) and yet it was nearly empty at the lunch hour. Waitress was very nice and attentive, but simply cannot make up for long delay and overpricing. They have been open almost 7 months and the management and corporate cannot get anything close to good. So the next trip and final trip will be beer and french fries only, they do those two well (!!!!!). I'll update again.
Feb 23 = Disappoint everytime (three so far). Two stars at best. Service is very good, but the food wait times are terrible. They clearly have problems with management and the cooks. Overpriced for what gets delivered to the table. We will keep going because of a large gift card we were given, it is a way to test the menu, but always a disappointment. Needs new management and new...
