Wicker House is OLD & charming right in the thick of things on Duval street. This is why we chose this property! We stayed in the front rooms of the big house with the porch! The front of the house and the property was still decorated for Christmas and the porch and courtyard are just lovely Old Florida places to enjoy your morning coffee! Yes! It’s noisey because it’s on the main drag so we were prepared for that! So much history here! We even had a rooster come to our door with a wake up service on morning! lol The pool was heated very well but we didn’t go in due to the very cold weather that week. The continental breakfast in the courtyard was a nice touch. When we arrived they took our car and parked it elsewhere for us. After being on the road for 7 hours that day we were so grateful to loose the car and walk everywhere! Southern Most Point Cafe, Butterfly Conservatory & Hemingway House are musts! The girls in the front office were sweet & accommodating especially GiGi. 💗 Only down side for us was the nighttime crowd sitting outside our door on the porch. It would be really nice if they could rope it off for the guests paying for that room. Also, the parking for checking in..Looks like one spot for maybe supply deliveries at first glance. This is directed to management only because we know the staff can’t do anything about this. They need to clearly mark the guest check in parking with either a standing sign out front near the office or have the pavement marked in painted letters. Guest 1 & Guest 2. We spent a lot of time racing around the block trying to figure out where to go. As a whole if you want the experience of being on the main drag close to everything and can tolerate the noise then this is the place to stay!

Let's start with the location and front desk staff. Both excellent. Location was in the heart of everything. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and attentive and booked excursions for us with no hesitation. However, the rooms were a whole other experience. They appeared clean unless you moved a piece of furniture....then dust balls came a rolling out. The decorations and furniture were very outdated. The shower/tub was an old jet tub I haven't seen in a decent priced hotel in quite a while. The water pressure...well good luck with that. Pulling up the lever to turn the tub to a shower was a workout. The air conditioning (an air conditioner in the window) was barely adequate and the aging ceiling fan (which used to be white now kinda yellowing) helped. It was not quiet at night (yes we were on Duval) but the restaurant next door decided that 1am would be a great time to dispose of all their beer bottles into the dumpster. The awning outside of our room looked like it was a remnant of the last tornado. As for the breakfast, well 8am was the earliest it started and included your favorite childhood cereals, store bought muffins and thawed out bagels, croissants and other pastries. Coffee was good, but the veteran run coffee shop, Black Rifle Coffee Company, right across the street was fantastic. We were able to park our rented golf cart out front so that was nice. Other than that, there are better options as I have been to Key West before.

From the moment we arrived, everything went smoothly. The location is absolutely unbeatable – right on Duval Street, in the heart of all the action, yet still peaceful and relaxing once inside the property. The ladies at the reception were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Parking was easy too: you can stop directly in front of the guesthouse to unload your luggage, and they kindly point out the best spots nearby – either free street parking or at the guesthouse itself. The property consists of several charming houses, all kept very clean, just like the rooms. Every morning, fresh coffee and a light breakfast are served outdoors under the shade of palm trees – the perfect way to start the day. The breakfast is simple (check photos), but the atmosphere makes up for it completely. The pool area is a hidden gem! Perfect for relaxing or snapping some great Instagram shots. A little insider tip: check FlightRadar – planes fly right behind the pool, which makes for an amazing photo opportunity. Best of all, the pool was almost always empty – we had it to ourselves for three days straight. All in all, Wickler Guesthouse gave us an unforgettable stay in an unforgettable city. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it!

I arrived late on Christmas Eve to find my room in less than sanitary conditions. Ie; long dark hair all over the floor, drain flies coming up from the (quite dirty) shower drain, the water from the shower smelled putrid and the pressure was that of a small watering can, there was undusted everything, a half-broken AC with filter needing replacement, water damage on wooden bed frame, curtains so dusty I didn’t even want to touch them, floor boards not cleaned in who knows how long… the list goes on. I spent the majority of my time IN this space trying to avoid Covid bc I had to be there for a couple work obligations. I didn’t feel as though it was properly cleaned or Covid-safe AT ALL. Be warned because I paid over $462/night. Its never the people’s fault who work at the front desk and I was very careful with the way I approached the subject. Instead, I wrote a kind email and documented pictures of everything before and after (since I ordered over $150 of cleaning products and spent my entire Christmas cleaning this room FOR them) and kindly asked that they send it to the GM. the GM did reply to me and apologized saying he’d have their head custodial person and maid stop by to fix the issues (that I had.. already fixed. On Christmas… but thanks anyway, man.) and oh, they did show… while the “do not disturb” sign was hanging on my door. Good thing I didn’t have anything private or work-related left out that shouldn’t have been shared. 🤔🙄 They did change the curtains which I couldn’t do myself so, I guess I’m glad for that but I was overall just kind of skeeved out that while I was away for a couple hours on work, people entered my room without permission after I just cleaned from top to bottom with bleach- ALL to avoid Covid and contact with others. I do appreciate the sentiment, I guess. Not everyone is as cautious as I am.||||I think I maybe would have let all of this go without a review, except the last day I wasn’t feeling well and I wrote them to get permission to leave my key in the room rather than take it to them in-person and they wrote me back saying they’d refund me $300 for my inconvenience and the money I spent on cleaning products and the time I spent cleaning. $300? I mean. ||Thanks…I guess. It’s better than nothing… but that doesn’t even equal what I paid for an entire night there(more than $462/night), let alone take into consideration that I SPENT an entire day (my holiday, CHRISTMAS no less) cleaning, took pictures to PROVE that their facility was inadequately prepped, had bugs/drain flies, AND that I spent $150 on cleaning products and such to get rid of the flies. ||||I tried really hard not to ruin anyone’s holiday or Christmas when I had to address this issue. I am well aware that EVERYONE is overworked and understaffed and I was more than kind. …but knowing they kind of ruined mine, you would think the manager would have done more to rectify the situation, right? I was never even offered a different room. ||||I wish I could attach the photos I took to this review. look for it elsewhere where I actually CAN post them. You’ll maybe think twice about paying so much to stay here. ||||I come to KW often and will be moving here soon. I chose this place because it was Christmas and I wanted a great location and to “go all out,” so to speak. (Well, go all out, for me.) Beware- the pictures look nothing like the actual rooms/bathrooms. ||||If you’d like an equivalent (BETTER) stay for less money and far better hospitality and cleaner rooms and free breakfast each morning and the office on site for any issues- PLEASE check out Palms Hotel. This is where I normally stay. I’ve been so much that the staff members know me by name now- and they will your first stay. They’ll check in on you and make sure you’re doing alright. …and if you’re a single female traveler like me and you don’t show up to breakfast? Prepare to get a call from the nice lady (Cindy) who does breakfast because she’ll worry about you and want to make sure you’re okay and that you are safe. Cheaper. Cleaner. FAR better quality. Bigger rooms. Pool. Free breakfast… and believe me when I tell you they would bend over backward to rectify anything gone wrong during your stay because they truly care about their reputation and how their guests are treated. I’m moving to KW, but I will forever recommend that place to all my friends and family. ||||As for #KeyWestHospitalityInns and #IslandOasis ? I hope you do better for the next guest.||||Pics: flies picked up in my scrub brush from cleaning. Dead flies on shower floor after spraying bleach. Dust on everything - duster just after dusting the AC. Hair on floor. Dirty floor boards-...

We stayed in mid January at the building located at 508 Olivia for 5 days. I called GG over the phone and she put us on a list to text us when the room was ready get us checked in early. We were very happy with how easy it was to get checked in, park, and get into our room. I was expecting worse as Key West can be pretty difficult to drive on some of the streets with how narrow they are.

We stayed on the bottom floor to the left with the French doors. The room had everything a "normal" hotel has and was suitable for our week vacation.

I was a little worried reading the reviews about the beds as I am person who needs their 7.5 hours of sleep or I am grumpy (according to my wife). I sat down on the bed and my first thought was, it is going to be too soft (I prefer a firm mattress).

We went for a walk down Duval and came back "home" later that night. I slept great! Better than I do at home! The mattress was firm but with a pillowtop feel to it, but not too much pillowtop. Not only did I sleep great every night, my wife did as well. Now that we are home we are on the search for new a mattress similar to what we had on vacation. I know mattress reviews are very subjective, but we will be staying here again knowing I will get my 7.5 hours of sleep!

Things I did not like but were not deal breakers: We are from the Daytona Beach Florida area so this next thing did not bother us as we are "seasoned" Floridians. The bottom sweep of the French doors has a big enough gap to allow Palmetto bugs to come in. We chased them outside and rolled up a beach towel against the door and that solved that for the rest of the stay. Northerners, Florida has bugs! Don't be scared! Also we normally walk barefoot in our own home. Taking our shoes off at the door. The floors are mopped and mopping floors mostly just pushes dirt around the floor and doesn't really pick it up. I would have preferred if the floor was vacuumed. I don't know if logistically management could have the cleaning staff vacuum the hard wood floor and mop between guests, but if they could, that would make for a better stay. Or maybe a small stick vacuum in the closet for the guests to use?

Speaking of the cleaning staff. They were great! We had them come in everyday to change out the towels. With 4 people in our group there really isn't enough places to hang 4 towels properly have them dry with Florida humidity in the air. The cleaning staff made our beds even tighter even though we had them made already. They also tidied up and took out the garbage. They were excellent.

In conclusion we will definitely be staying here on our next stay...
