This was my hubby and mines first getaway from the kids in a LONG time and everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The lady at the front was so nice and attended to us as soon as we came, she gave us our room key although we were a bit early which was huge for us since we did not have a car and were carrying our luggage. It was quiet during our stay, our room was spacious, everything was clean, the ac was older but worked great, we also had a fan, we had a huge mirror in the bedroom, the shower was really small but we did not mind as it all worked really well. The hotel itself is SUPER cute and felt romantic for us. There was a restaurant downstairs called the "old tavern" which makes the best chicken sandwich called "the chicken banh mi". There's beautiful trees and plants all around the restaurant and front "lobby/office", which helps your room feel secluded and private. Our room was upstairs so we have a beautiful view of the trees and felt very private. In the room, we also had double doors that led to a balcony which was so peaceful after my hubby and I spent the night out. One night it rained and it was so peaceful to sit there and hear the rain and watch the people walkng by (they had two porch chairs and a small table). The cleaning lady came made our beds, refreshed our bathroom &towels while we were gone. They also had complimentary KW sea salt oil in the bathroom for your hands which was really cool. They've got free cold lemon water at the office. Of coarse, it's literally in the middle of all the fun and restaurants, so location is a given. From beginning to end, this place was...
Read moreI read the reviews of Casablanca Hotel prior to booking this hotel & now that we’ve returned from our 3 nite stay, I’m amazed not one mentioned how noisy it is! We will not be returning. |The Good: Location. Friendly staff. You are in the heart of Key West- Duvall St, so you can walk everywhere. I recommend the historic walking tour. Excellent. The area is quite built up & very touristy now. This is the third time we’ve been to KW but first time at Casablanca. |The Bad: IMO, we had one of the worst rooms. (Number 2) Stay away from 1 & 3 also. We were told it was the only room left b/c of our “late” arrival at 6 pm. In these rooms you hear music until 3 am, street noise, motorcycles, the hotel’s restaurant’s noise and the crashing of trash & bottles being dumped in the alley right at your balcony. Then the early morning trash pick up! You also hear every noise from the room above you. |The room is very small w. 2 queen beds & not much else. My husband used the mini fridge as a night table! Bathroom was small with little water pressure. The shower (no tub) was perhaps h/a? since it was level w. the bathroom floor. |There is no parking but staff did help us find free street parking. |Continental breakfast was adequate if you don’t mind eating the same thing for every morning you’re there. There are other places nearby. |Perhaps the price is competitive but over $1400 for a 3 nite stay seemed crazy just for the location |Resort fees are charged. |As I said it wasn’t for us but if you’re going to stay there, stay on an upper floor &...
Read moreThis was a great hotel for our stay in Key West. I was traveling with my 8-yo son and this worked out perfect for us. Mia was really nice and made the check in process really easy. That helped start our entire vacation in a relaxing way (which is what we came for). Throughout our stay she had great advice about places to go and was really kind to my son. Probably the most important things room-wise were that the beds were comfortable and the AC worked great. Coming from New Mexico, we can handle the heat but my son grew tired of the humidity very quickly. Even though the rooms were a little small, we had plenty of room for all of our stuff. The central location on Duval St made everything easy to get to and there were tons of shops and restaurants right out front and everything else was within minutes walking distance. The restaurant next door was great. It had some seafood but also Irish pub style items too which offered a nice break from constant seafood only menus at other places. It was also really nice to just explore around the hotel without having to go too far. Because the location was so good, we did not need a car at all. It was much easier to just walk places or use uber instead of paying for a rental car and messing around with parking. Because of that, staying at Casablanca saved us about $100 a day from not having to rent a car which gave us some extra spending money for ocean activities and food. Next time we visit, we will definitely stay at this hotel and we hope to see Mia again. Thanks...
