We loved this place. Very clean and very nice. I'm a clean freak so that's saying a lot. Beds were comfortable but I prefer something a little less firm. Pillows were awesome, but it would be nice to have an extra one or 2 in the room. We stayed in 2 different rooms, both king suites, and there weren't very many pieces of silverware. The room sleeps 3 adults so you need more than 2 spoons. I believe the entire property is serviced by a water softener which can be great, but we travel with a water filter and e didn't realize that salted water was coming out of the sink faucet until after we tasted our first glass of filtered water. This clogged the filters on my system pretty quickly. The luggage carts are a plus, but the tires desperately needed air in them. They were so hard to push once loaded down. We brought this to the attention of a front desk employee employee but they were still flat when we checked out 2 nights later. They have complimentary washers and dryers!! They offer soap to purchase at the front desk. This was a huge plus!! However, the washers did need some cleaning in the rubber seal and a few were out of order, but the sign was on the controls instead of the door so I ended up wasting some soap I threw in before seeing the note on the control panel. Breakfast was supposed to be limited hot on weekdays, but when we went down the only hot items were coffee and water for tea. I have dietary restrictions and couldn't eat anything but an apple that they had out. Same for 2 of my kids. Oatmeal would have been an option I could have eaten. We had family staying at a nearby hotel that said they had a full breakfast... and they paid less. Overall, a...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel for seven nights in the last three weeks. Each time I requested a high floor on the back side of the hotel -- away from the noise of Interstate 65 -- and was easily accommodated. Tonight I was greeted by a young lady who was more concerned about quoting policy in a condescending tone than trying to accommodate. She said since I was late arriving, all "those rooms" had been given away. She elaborated in great detail -- as if speaking with a first grader -- that requests were not guaranteed, especially if one arrives late. I asked about a different type of room and she quickly retorted, "that will be more money," and dismissed me. She assigned me to a room on the third floor (facing I-65) that is one of the few remaining that does not have wall control of the AC. I've stayed here enough over the past three years to know that rooms without wall control do not get cool. She switched me to a different room in which the AC sounds like it's getting ready for take-off, the curtains are hanging off the rod, and the toilet does not flush properly. When I inquired again about moving, even if it meant going to a different type of room, she now states they are sold out. I stayed here two weeks ago when the production crews were preparing for the ND v PU game -- THAT was a full parking lot and hotel -- tonight does not compare. Disappointed.... my past experiences have generally been good -- a refresh on HOW to speak to customers, especially when delivering news they don't want to hear, is warranted. Brusquely ruling the fiefdom is not what it's about. Headed to the...
Read moreI booked a two-night stay and called the front desk as I was on the way to this hotel. I was informed that my reservation was canceled to my surprise. I asked if they could identify who canceled the reservation. The reply was not specific. When I arrived at the hotel they checked me in.
After two nights I checked out early in the morning to learn that the cost of the stay was assigned to my bank of rewards points. I explained that I specifically requested to be invoiced for the stay on my IHG Chase card for I am registered for the 4X the points promotion. I left without an invoice for they were not able to correct the error until management arrived later that morning.
When I arrived at home I checked my email for the promised correcting and copy of the invoice. Not found. I had to call the hotel to request the delivery of my corrected invoice. I also asked if my reward points were applied- Hotel's reply was they were not able to correct that issue and I would have to call IHG rewards.
I spent an hour of my time explaining the issue with IHG reward customer relations level 1 and was disconnected twice. I have now given up trying to get a resolution and will resort to letter writing and stopping payment for the stay with my CC until I do get a resolution.
One has to ask themselves - do you really want to have to go through this to pay a premium price for a two-night stay and a reasonable level of...
