First off, this place's kitchen stays open late; credit where it's due for serving food after 9, because that's a rarity in sit-down restaurants around here.
Dim lighting with unfiltered sources in line-of-sight made my vision-impaired friend annoyed as soon as we entered. The whole seating area was lit this way; I didn't see any alternative lighting to sit under. It was impossible for them to see the menu without using their own lighting while also shading their eyes. It irritated my eyes quite a bit too; alternative lighting (& some large translucent diffusers on the lighting in line-of-sight) would be nice.
Service was quick to get us all menus & immediately returned to get our orders, then even before our drinks were ready they came back to see if we wanted to order more. Shortly after bringing our drinks & appetizers they returned to ask yet again; then we spent about two minutes trying to get any of 3 people's attention just to order a third person's drink. They were friendly & got our orders right, but their timing was way off! Probably a bit preoccupied with what a supervisor wanted, rather than what we did. (Employees must never look idle! Upsell! Upsell!)
Overall, I think the service would usually be fine & they were just off their game (unlike the lighting, which I'll charitably describe as "romantic").
The food was great & so were the drinks. The bowl of roasted peppers surprised me with their flavor. Despite being just slightly more darkly fried than I'd prefer, the crispy breaded chicken was...
Read moreAs I walked through the front doors the aroma of eastern cultured food dominated my sense of smell. I walked to the front counter positive yet skeptical that their pad-tai would be sub par given that i had never eaten here before. I thought to myself that the pad-tai was at a reasonable price and i would give it a try. The lady at the front counter was more than helpful in expiditing my food order and questions. I took a seat in the dining room daydreaming of the wonderful flavors i was about to experience. Would they live up to the pad-tai's i had before? I waited patiently, anf just like that with in a matter of minutes ibwas staring down a beautifully colorful plate of rice noodles. Toped with bean sprouts and shredded carrots. Slices of tofu and chicken, and a wonderfully glazed pad-tai sauce that was cooked emaculatnly. I thought to myself i better take an instagram picture so i could remember this decadence that lay before my eyes. As i took my first bite my eyes spread open like moses parting the red sea. My nose picking up hints of peanut powerful yet suttle. My tongue cautious yet curious as to the perfect blend of texture it was being subjected too. And my stomach being quited for its incessent growling is what led me to trying Tuk Tuk the first time.
All being said this place is bomb. Would recommend...
Read moreI had a very great experience at Tuk Tuk. I went in to order takeout and was very impressed with their setup and all their Covid precautions. I felt very comfortable ordering, paying, and then waiting only about 5 minutes for my food to be prepared. The staff was very friendly and answered my questions about some of the dishes. It's great to see a restaurant that is accommodating to different diets. Their menu clearly states that all items can be made vegetarian. I asked about vegan options and the woman taking my order said most items can also be made vegan. So awesome! The food was packed well and very delicious. I got the veggies in peanut sauce, and my husband got the yellow curry, both made vegan. They were both so good. Very flavorful and fresh. I highly recommend ordering food from here. Their online ordering application is also pretty slick if you're more...
