I came into town after suffering a devastating loss in my family and needed some where to stay. This hotel ended up being perfect. Close to all of the things that I needed and only a 20 minute drive to see friends and family. The hotel is clean and the check in/out process via the app was seamless. I did switch to physical door keys instead of the app but the issue was probably with my phone. Housekeeping was very accomodating. Parking was easy. The gym and laundry area were very clean and the pool area was spotless. I used to travel alot for work so I am accustomed to wiping down my entire room upon entering but i found very little dust. My only suggestion for hotels with pools or near water is to invest in a carpet spray that kills bacteria that causes odor. I noticed the hallways smelled kind of stale. Possibly air scrubbers (i know they are noisy) when census is low they can be put in the hallways. Also alcohol based sprays to deoderize the carpets may help. I ran covid hospitals when the govt rented out empty hotels at the height of the pandemic and this was something that we came up with that did not damage the carpets but kept everything smelling sanitary and fresh. Other than that no issues and I would surely stay here again. Not far from the airport. Mall is down the street and costco isn't far at all. Thanks again!!! Also if ur reading this review go ahead and book now. I waited to book the room and the rate kept going up. But I see why. It is a good property! Also the tvs are a little on the small side but they still have thermostats that you can control so that is a definite perk!

I’m only giving 3 stars because although the room was nice and bathrooms cleaned and the pool was great and breakfast amazing and wide variety, when I booked the trip online it said the deposit was only $50. Once I got there to check in, I was told no cash accepted and they charged me $50 per night I was staying for security deposit and I was told if I canceled the reservation then I’d still be charged $171 for the first night. I was charged $105 more than expected as told online. Not to mention it’s been a week since our stay and it’s still pending. I called the hotel and they told me it was my bank but my bank said they have yet to adjust the amount and release the funds. All things considered I could’ve went to another hotel for cheaper, paid cash, and got my deposit back as soon as I checked out. Waiting a week for my money to be returned is ridiculous and not openly advertising that you charge people $50 a night for deposit is absolutely pathetic. Y’all aren’t The Westin or The Sheraton to be charging those prices. PS Here’s your pics. The invoice you sent me, the price you charged me and your policy listed online that says $50 not $50 a night. Btw a lot of hotels take cash for deposit because I usually use it to pay it for cases like this when y’all try to hold the money for a whole week after we check out for what. You see the damage that day not a week later. 5 star hotels don’t take it I get it but even Holiday and Hampton allowed me to pay cash for my deposit. I knew I should’ve gone there instead but a friend recommended you so I tried it. Never again.

During my recent visit to Livonia, Michigan, I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Detroit Livonia. I was immediately struck by the modern and clean atmosphere of the hotel. The recent renovations are noticeable, with the rooms beautifully decorated and providing a cozy ambiance. The beds were a highlight, offering a comfortable night's sleep with exceptionally soft pillows. The room was well-equipped and maintained, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free stay. I found the breakfast to be satisfactory, offering a decent variety, though not particularly outstanding. Throughout my stay, the entire staff was attentive and friendly, contributing significantly to the positive experience. One thing to note for future guests is the proximity to the highway. While my room was not highway-facing and thus remained quiet, I would advise requesting a room away from the highway side to avoid potential noise disturbances. In conclusion, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Livonia offers a comfortable and welcoming stay with its modern rooms, friendly staff, and convenient amenities. It's an excellent choice for anyone visiting the area, with just a small caveat regarding room selection for noise sensitivity.

Absolutely disgusting! If I could give them negative 10 stars I would! First off I'm town to attend my mothers funeral! Initial contact with the hotel was ok non problematic. The rooms and facilities over all were decently cleaned daily.

My issue: On the same night after my mothers funeral the hotel had a fire alarm blaring uncontrollably for over 2 hours that they advised was in error and they could not stop the alarm. This alarm went off around 1:30am and continued until after 3am. So in the middle of the night and cold we are all outside until they could figure out how to stop this alarm. This was extremely disturbing and being awakened to a blaring fire alarm gave me a headache that has lasted over 20 hours now.

My 2nd issue: The following afternoon I got up left out for breakfast and advised them that I would like the room cleaned. I returned to hotel around 2pm or so and the room still was not cleaned. I found the house keeper and asked would she take care of our room and she advised yes. I waited patiently for her because I was tired and wanted to shower and rest. She comes in then asked her manager to request that I leave out so she could "make the bed". I did, no problem. I come back to the room and begin to shower. After a long night and having a terrible headache I wanted the hot water to calm me. I just buried my mother, was awakened at 1 odd am by "false alarm" and over all I was stressed. After taking a nice hot relaxing shower, I open the bathroom door and of course the steam billowed out and came into the room causing the smoke detector to go off.

I turned on the air, opened the door and for approximately 15 minutes it continued to blair. I called the front desk and asked for assistance and was advised the house meeting manager would come and reset the alarm. Someone comes up to the room, the house keeper and an racist Asian lady with a disgusting attitude. The Asian lady comes in saying why is there steam in the room? You've been smoking cigarettes in here I smell it. So I or my clothes on as she is ranting and insulting me exclaiming to her that not only did I not smoke in the room but I don't smoke at all!! Never have!!! This person began opening all the guests room doors without even a knock saying I don't smell it here, I don't smell it here, until the guests across the hall returned to their room that she had just opened up without a knock and said they reported the smell of smoke from down the hall already. So this Asian lady comes back in my room, "oh it smells in here", why was there smoke in here if you're not smoking? And I had to advise her again, maybe you don't take showers but I did with hot water, steam rises and in this case caused the alarm to go off. I further told her she was extremely rude and disrespectful and was a very poor representation of the Mariott brand! She then walked out of the room quickly with the disgusting attitude she had and went into the room on the end of the hallway, once again opened the door without knocking and said "oh, this is where it's coming from". Never apologized, never said excuse my frustration and just walked away. This woman seen an African American woman and chose to belittle and disrespect me and my family because of her assumptions. There is no way anyone can tell me this was not race based! I have been in this hotel for almost 1 week with 2 rooms for my family and wash room has been kept clean and we are quiet only needing clean linens and a bed change here and there. If I could redo this I would absolutely NOT PATRONIZE THIS HOTEL LOCATION!!

Mariott hotels need to do better! Is 2025 racism and disrespect is not acceptable and not tolerated now! Your customer's brings in your revenue. Respect and appreciate us! ALL OF US! No matter the...

The hotel was fine about what you would expect I guess. We were there 2 days but did not receive any type of service. So for that reason and the fact that they charged me $150 cleaning fee for my service dog. I gave them 2 stars for service. Here is what happened: My wife was taking our service dog out to go pee. When they came down the elevator and the doors opened my niece happened to be standing there and she got excited and shouted ohhh puppy and opened her arms and quickly went to hug and pet our dog. With the elevator doors just opening and someone he doesn't know coming at him, he was startled and he peed a little bit. My wife cleaned it up immediately and then took the dog out to finish. When she came back in there was a "wet floor"sign in front of the elevator. Although the floor was not wet. It had only been a couple minutes since she was just there so it's doubtful that the floor was even mopped. I guess someone just put the sign out. When I called to complain about the $150 additional charge they told me it was a cleaning fee and that they also received complaints of the dog barking in our room. The only time he barks is when there is someone standing outside the door. He is a service animal that's what he does, he alerts. It was not excessive. If someone stops in front of the door he will bark. When they leave he will stop. If we are in the room with him we will tell him to be quiet and he will. If we're not there he will bark until whoever is outside the door leaves. Then he will stop. I tried to explain this to the gentleman on the phone when I called to complain about the charge. He told me he knows service animals and they don't act like that. When we checked in I asked the lady at the desk if she wanted to see his credentials. She said no. I really just don't understand this $150 charge. It didn't look like there was any cleaning done by the hotel for this instance but even if there was a couples swishes with a mop should that be charged at $150? Or is the charge for the dog barking? If so let me ask this, what if it were a child? If a child had an accident in the hallway would you charge $150? Or if there was a baby crying would you charge $150? I don't see where this hotel was put out one bit and find it ridiculous that they charged us anything for our service...

I stayed at this hotel from 06 June 15 to 09 June 15 and was robbed by the night auditor. Me and my family had to check out a day early and I went to the desk to let the guest rep know that. I also asked if it would be okay for me to pay for my room in cash as to release the hold on my debit and he said that was fine. I went to their atm and withdrew the money and paid for our stay. When I requested a receipt the auditor told me he was running the audit so he was unable to print one off but he would be sure to have one for me in the morning. I did not get that receipt. When I checked out the following morning I went to the desk and asked for the receipt and the young lady stated she would have one mailed to me because the audit was still running. I agreed to that but to my surprise not only did I never get the receipt but my card was charged for the amount of my stay. I called and spoke with the manager Jennifer and she said she would look at the tapes to see if the transaction happened. She also stated that she believed it was an error of my bank and that I should call them. I did call my bank and had to file a claim. Jennifer called back 2 days later and stated the tapes were fuzzy and she couldn't really tell but by the end of the day she called and said she didn't see the transaction take place at all and she didn't believe what I was telling her. Not only was I swindled out of my money but the room was not a 2 room suite, the eggs were terrible and the maintenance man stole my husbands leather belt out of the pool room while we were swimming. when he said something to him about it he said housekeeping gave it to him. Do not stay here. The staff can not be trusted and yes, I am upset. I am out of 453$ because the manager decided to take the side of a thief instead of working...
