The staff was super friendly and great customer service. The breakfast was pretty decent and the pool and hot tub would have been decent had anyone followed the rules and not been drinking alcohol and acting recklessly. Our room was fine when we checked in, but it slowly got worse and worse. Almost none of the outlets in the room worked and were super loose. The tub didn't hold water unless I held my foot on the drain stopper to prevent the water from draining. There was black mold all over the bathroom and it started making us feel sick by the time that we left. There were questionable stains, one of which looked like dried vomit or other substances, on both of the bed skirts that looked like they had never been washed. The left elevator door would start opening and closing repeatedly until someone called the elevator back down, so I trekked up four flights of stairs. There were pieces of the ceiling missing in the hall area. There was also a sizable gap underneath our door that let it all the lights from the hallway during the night and also made our room not so sound proof from people walking in the halls. I will give a shout out to Sheryl at the front desk, she was super friendly and great customer service. I won't say I'd want to return after my stay though.

Honestly, no complaints here. When you come to a Hampton Inn, you’re not expecting a five-star hotel. But in all of the amenities they provide, they do it pretty well. The morning continental breakfast is good and has basic staples such as waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereals, and breads/pastries. The fitness center is extremely small, having only three pieces of equipment packed into a small room. The rooms themselves are pretty clean and nice. They come with a fridge and microwave. Parking is abundant around the hotel. They also have about five or six reserved parking spots for Hilton Diamond members. Staff are also very friendly and greet you as you come in and out. We had excellent interactions with staff throughout our whole visit!

Drove by the town to stay overnight. Arrived around 6pm. Received warm welcome with two bottles of water from the front desk. The room was clean as expected. Went downstairs for gym and swimming. The hotel and room were quiet over night. The breakfast was not crowded. There were waffles makers, oatmeal’s, omelets, sausages, potatoes, bread, danish, cereals, apples, cold drinks, and hot beverages. The checkout was easy and quick. Received another warm greeting for departure from the front desk.

Last month I visited Altoona for a convention. This was my first time ever staying in a hotel and I was extremely disappointed. I paid extra for this hotel in particular rather than saving money elsewhere. When I booked through Expedia, the amenities showed this hotel would have a hot tub available; however, it was out of service when we arrived. On the Expedia website it read "Pool" and "Hot tub" separately, with only "pool" being crossed out, meaning it was out of service; however, hot tub was not crossed out, which led me to believe it was still available. When we brought this up with management, they said every single hotel has their pool and hot tub connected and that I should have ASSUMED it was not in service. I had already explained to them I have never stayed in a hotel and people should not have to assume these details. When my partner addressed this situation, he said to the Manager working (I believe Cheryl) that we deserve some sort of compensation, to which she responded "Oh yes, absolutely". We were later on denied for any amount of compensation. The manager then told us not to worry because our hotel stay came with access to a very nearby gym, The Summit Athletic Club, which had a pool and hot tub available, so we got ready to go there instead. As soon as we were about to leave, we saw the gym was closed. I find it unacceptable that we were mislead into thinking we had all of these amenities included in our stay when not one of them was available, including the gym. If the Summit Athletic Club is working in partnership with this hotel, the manager should have been aware that the gym had already closed that day rather than misleading us. To top it all off, our bathroom was outdated and rather gross. I would never consider booking with this hotel again in any state. My friends and I were all very disappointed as it...

We were very happy with the service provided by the staff at the Hampton Inn Altoona. The woman who checked us in offered us a free upgrade to a larger suite that was available when she saw that we had three children with us. When we asked for a rollaway bed later that evening, it was delivered within five minutes. The hot breakfast was good and there were plenty of choices. Our only complaint is that the suite was in need of updating/maintenance. The room was clean. However, the pull-out sofa was very shabby and threadbare. It looked like it was more appropriate for someone's hunting camp. There was a fireplace in our suite, but the screen covering it had a hole in it. There was a large hole/worn spot on the table. The remote control for the TV was missing the battery cover and the batteries were held in with clear packing tape. The remote did not work. The television system advertised in-room movies and my kids saw a recent release they wanted to watch. After 30 minutes of trying to figure out how to get the movie, we called the front desk to be informed that the hotel no longer offered in-room movies. The staff person apologized and said she didn't know why the advertisement hadn't been pulled.

So, long story short -- service was great, but our room left a lot to be desired. I've read the previous reviews and maybe some of the other rooms in the hotel have been renovated? Ours...

Absolutely top-notch experience every time I stay at the Hampton Inn in Altoona! This hotel has become my go-to spot whenever I’m in town, and it’s all because of the incredible staff and the warm, welcoming environment they’ve created. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted like family—and that’s not an exaggeration. There’s a genuine sense that the team here cares about your comfort and experience.||On my most recent trip, I had the pleasure of interacting with Sheryl at the front desk, and she was an absolute gem. Friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful—she truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. That said, I’ve never met a bad employee at this property. Every staff member I’ve encountered has been cheerful, courteous, and genuinely kind. It’s clear that this hotel is well-managed and that the culture here prioritizes hospitality in the best possible way.||The recent upgrades to the property are fantastic. Everything feels fresh, modern, and clean, and the improvements really make the place shine. You can tell that they’ve invested in the guest experience—from the lobby to the rooms, every detail has been thoughtfully enhanced.||There’s something about the Hampton Inn in Altoona that makes it feel like a second home. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s a place where you’re truly welcomed. Can’t...
