I have had nothing but good things to say about this restaurant until my last experience here. When we arrived around 6:30pm. There was a short wait which was not a problem. Once we were seated, we ordered our drinks and an appetizer shortly after. When the appetizer came out, the cheese container was so deformed from being microwaved so much that it was quite comical. After receiving our appetizer, we placed our order around 7:15pm. While waiting for our food to come out, the waiter checked on us one time for a refill. At this point, it was going on 8:30pm and we still have not received our food. At this point, the restaurant was fairly empty. We still have not seen our waiter since the first time they refilled our drinks. Around 8:45pm, the waiter came around and informed us that the kitchen was melting our cheese and it will be out shortly. I made a joke that our plates will come out deformed like our appetizer dipping dish did. Finally, at 8:50pm, we received our food from another server. We asked why the food took so long to come out and why did people that came in after we placed our order are finished eating and already left? The server informed us that one of our food orders had to be remade. No one informed us that anything was wrong with our order and why it was taking so long. We would have been perfectly fine if someone came to use and let us know why it was taking almost two hours for us to get our food. All of our food was slightly warm and the one order that was remade was super hot so our food was defiantly sitting back in the kitchen for a while. The assistant manager came and asked how everything was and we informed the assistant manager what the issue was. The assistant manager covered half of our bill and we finally left the restaurant at 9:30pm. Three hours after we arrived.... I hope everyone else has a more pleasant experience...
Read moreI've been to a few Red Robin locations and this is the only one that I will never return to. The hostess was blah right from the start. Not at all welcoming and walked us to our table like she was walking through molasses. Our server appeared soon after and took our drink order. We both requested water to start. It took an unusually long amount of time to get two glasses of water but ok. I noticed a red something (strawberry piece?) floating around my glass so I didn't touch it. When the server finally reappeared, I let her know about the floater. After yet another long interval, I finally received a new glass of water but she left the dirty one. The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there, so the reasoning for the slow service was a bit baffling. On the plus side, we didn't have the server who had two separate tables behind us. That server (Stephanie) was rude, short with her customers, moved like she wanted to be anywhere else other than there and would make faces as she turned away from tables. When we got our food, my wife's bottom burger bun was so soaked in grease that it kept falling apart as she tried to eat it. We both ordered garlic fries and when my server asked if I wanted more (bottomless) and brought them out, there were nine fries in the basket. Nine. Not that I needed a fryer full but nine is pretty damn sad. I kept swatting flies and gnats away from our food throughout the entire time so I question the cleanliness of the restaurant in general. The manager was the one that brought our food, but that was the only time we saw him. Upon trying to checkout, the table kiosk wouldn't accept a gift card I had. Our server said the kiosks never do. Read moreWe stopped at Red Robin in Altoona on Sunday afternoon around 1:20. We were seated right away. Unfortunately we sat at the table for about 10 minutes until we were greated. Once we were finally greated we ordered drinks. 20 minutes had passed and still no drinks, our server came back to take our food order before our drinks were even brought to our table. We ordered the sparkling teas non alcohol and waters, she didnt even bring the waters. She said she was waiting on the teas from the bar but I could see them from our table sitting there. Our food was out fast, the burgers were good, but no one would know that, we were never asked if things were good or if we needed anything. We never saw our server after this. I tried to pay at the table on tablets but we couldn't. It was not working, so she finally came out so I could ask why we couldnt pay there. She was suppose to get a paper copy of our bill. We never got one. Since we didnt want to just leave cash laying on the table we waited and waited.... Until I saw her and just handed her the cash so we could walk out the door.... She didn't even realize we didnt pay, she was cleaning off our table as I handed her the money for our check.
