UPDATE: I am changing this from a 1 to a 3 for one reason and one reason only. I reached out the company in regards to our stay and they gave us a full refund. They didn't have to do so and it is appreciated. Doesn't change our view on the lower flat, but at least they were understanding enough to give us a refund.
Sleepless night at a not so luxury lower flat...
I'm gonna keep this short. We wanted just one fun night away to a luxury suite where we could relax and enjoy luxury comfort and living. Well, that did not happen.
But I'll let you be the judge. Here is the list of luxury living we "enjoyed"
Two tiny, sliver, basement windows that did not bring in any natural light. (The pics on the website seem to be edited and make it look like there is tons of natural light)
Your friendly spider roommate, with some wonderful spiderwebs in the windows. Yep, I said it. One beefy spider scurried off looking to share the room is lurking somewhere in the corners.
Also, one of the windows was broken. Looked like someone through a golfball through it.
If you like staying on a bed made of rocks, this is the place for you.
Want water pressure at all or hot water at night? Too bad. You aren't getting any in this lower flat. Also, the shampoo and such were not as advertised on the website.
Also, they do have free wifi down in this dungeon of a basement, rightly so because you will have 0 cell phone service.
Yes, I know, I'm being a bit snarky. However, I have problems paying large sums of money for something advertised as luxury and walking in to find it to be the complete opposite.
I can't say anything about the other flats in the building. BUT we will not be staying here again and be warned of the lower flat.
Gave the location a 2 only because it is off of main (but what place isnt in logan)... the kicker is its literally right next to a mortuary. We would not have stayed here if that was disclosed to us at...

We are not rich people, and there are much more reasonably priced hotels in the area that charge less and give you more. This property advertised itself as a boutique luxury experience and charges as such.
I can't speak for the other flats, but I'm sure they are better than their basement option, which is the one we booked because it was the only one available, and honestly, based off of the description on their website, their photos, and the positive "reviews", we decided to "treat" ourselves to a luxury experience.
This is not luxury. It's not a boutique hotel, it's an Airbnb. The building is old and the basement feels and smells musty. There is no natural light save two tiny slats that are cracked and obstructed. This place was large for sure, but it feels like an industrial basement.
I support small businesses and I hate writing reviews like this. But I truly feel like they are purposely misleading in their advertising. If they want to call it a historic industrial basement with no natural light and charge much less than the nicer flats on the higher floors then that's fine. But we spent almost $300 in Logan Utah, where the whole pont is to see the beautiful mountains and breathe the fresh air, to stay in a dark musty basement with spider webs (and spiders), low water pressure, an uncomfortable bed, and a very sleepless night.
Seriously so disappointing and frustrating. I could say more but I'll leave it at that. This is not a luxury experience, but they are charging luxury prices.
Also, in case this matters to anyone, this building is within spitting distance of a giant mortuary. They are almost touching. At first we thought it was the same building....
Read moreI recently stayed at The Flats in their lower luxury suite and our whole stay was wonderful! We enjoyed looking through the "then and now" photo book of the building and seeing how the space maintains it's 1906 architectural integrity with industrial lighting choices and from what I can tell, the building's original door, foundation, and cement pillars. Beautifully decorated, the old and new pair nicely together for a chic, fresh feel.
Aside from the stand-out space, you can tell lots of thought has been given to guests and businesses in the valley. Scheduling our arrival and departure was easy and I appreciated that our room had clearly been prepared for our arrival with candles (battery operated), local cupcakes, Cafe Ibis coffee, Malouf sheets, and an amenities basket full of high-end hair products, lotion, toothbrush kit, etc.
My husband and I both lived in the valley for years but have a hard time recalling this building prior to its update but now it's something that can't be missed! A great addition to Logan downtown, the Flats live up to their name with a luxury experience that to my knowledge can't be found anywhere else in the valley. We definitely hope to experience the other rooms next time...
