Once upon a time I loved this place, and would always go in for a treat even though the menu prices are a little high for something as simple as a crepe. It was because of the customer service that I would return, but after my experience today I will likely NEVER go back. I walked in at around 3 pm, to an empty cafe in which I was the only customer and thought oh good! I'll be in and out quickly. I walked up to the counter, glanced at the menu to make sure they still had the crepes I like, and then waited. And waited. And stared at the worker chopping strawberries ten feet from me behind the counter, who looked up, acknowledged me with a smile, then returned to cutting the fruit without actually saying anything. A second worker emerged from the back kitchen, and I thought certainly he would come ensure I be served so I made eye contact with him. He looked at me, gave something to his coworker, and then returned to the back. I waited another two minutes, until I couldn't feasibly stand there anymore due to medical reasons, gave up, and left. The only thing I heard the entire time I was in the shop was the obnoxiously loud music that was competing with no other sound in the completely empty space. I was mortified, and didn't want to make a scene or throw a fit, but the longer I sit with this experience the less okay I feel. I have never been so blatantly disregarded by staff at any establishment, but especially at the Crepery where I once knew I would always be greeted warmly by helpful and kind staff. I'm not sure what has changed in recent months, but I can't imagine returning again just to be bombarded by too much noise, too small of a space, and now an oddly unwelcoming environment where it took me a minute to even find the corner of the counter where they had shoved the menus when I had become used to seeing their offerings printed clearly and largely in sight of the register. I've been going here ever since they once occupied space by the river, followed them on their move to Center Street, and today is the first day I have ever been disappointed...

Read moreI have always had great experiences here in the past. It’s been a few months since I’ve been but I was going out to lunch with some freinds and it was suggested since I have a dairy allergy and they have dairy free crepes. We get there and my friends order, when it was my turn I ask for a dairy free crepe and the lady said that they don’t have any. I was taken aback because I hadn’t had this issue in the past but I asked if they were out. She said they aren’t selling them anymore. This was disappointing to hear since everything on the menu has dairy and there wasn’t a notice online or a sign or even something on the menu I was holding. I was taking a second to decide what to do when she offered a salad. I asked if it was dairy free and she said that if they take off the cheese than it’s dairy free, I asked that they change gloves while making it in order to avoid cross contamination and she agreed.
When I received my salad, it had pesto on it. Now pesto usually has cheese in it so I went to ask. She said that the pesto was dairy free and didn’t contain cheese. I trusted that and ate the salad. I did think that it was too good of pesto to be dairy free but thought the employees would know best. Later in the day I got pretty sick and I am confident that that pesto had cheese. Great place overall but not for a dairy...
