We scheduled our wedding ceremony (outside) and reception to be held on July 10th. The reservation was made in November of 2021 with a woman who was handling all of the contracts. She mentioned that she would be moving & no longer working there by our wedding date but assured us that the owner of the property (John) would take care of us. The communication from that point on was not good at all. We scheduled a walk through & a quick rehearsal the night before the wedding but getting any response from John was like pulling teeth. He acted very irritated about everything. The worst part was on our actual wedding day. We arrived and the ceremony space wasn't set up. He wouldn't allow any of our helpers to do anything to expedite that either. Our caterers, our wedding party/assistants were spoken to in a very condescending way. He was outright rude to our clean up people after we had left the venue & raised his voice at them about if they didn't get everything cleaned up on time and how much he was going to charge us for over using our time. Mind you - this was on a Sunday. In Logan. With no other events happening. And he had the audacity to yell at the people cleaning up our space. When our helpers would ask a question or attempt to clarify something with him - he was always rude & incredibly condescending. I would not ever suggest working with him for any reason there. The venue is beautiful & thankfully our wedding planners/guests didn't tell us how rude he was & how bad their experience was in trying to talk with him until after the reception was over. Its unfortunate to have such a gorgeous place be ran by such an...
Read moreThe Riter Mansion was delightful. We were here for my daughter’s wedding and elected to stay for the night prior and the night of, simply to have access to more space to get ready. The rooms were beautiful and updated (though the bed in the Library was small). The breakfast was fantastic and the owner is a joy to chat with. The venue for the wedding was as perfect as possible and made for the most beautiful wedding. My daughter was so happy and the place looked magical. The staff was incredible during the wedding, and more helpful than I have ever encountered. We were a little frustrated that we had so little time and space for such a large wedding party. They frowned on family using our paid room to get ready, so as not to disturb other guests (who were the bride and groom, and one other couple). We tried to be as quiet and respectful as possible, but it was frustrating for everyone (I’m sure for the staff as well). All in all, it came together and they were amazing. We are so glad we selected this venue and would recommend...
Read moreI was very lucky to walk in and find John sittin his office. After randomly shooting off to visit Logan, I randomly found Riter Mansion because the first two places I checked were full. John wasn’t expecting guests because he was in the middle of some remodeling. But yet he went out his way to accommodate me and give a place to sleep. Not only that but he gave me so much information on the sites to see that he pretty much planned my road trip itinerary. The next day I woke up to the smell of breakfast and went down to enjoy some of the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time. After that I packed up and shot off thru Logan Canyon, to Bear lake then to the Grand Tetons then back to Evanston Wy and ended in Park city Ut for my last night before flying home from Salt Lake City the next day. For the amount of days I had, John gave me the perfect plan as it all worked out perfectly. Much appreciated. Thank you John. If and when I’m back in Logan, I will make sure to reserve a room at Riter...
