Hard to beat for the price. When we booked, it was during the week, and only $107 a night.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. There was a small refrigerator and safe in the room. There was no microwave in the room, so you had to walk down to the front reception area, where they serve breakfast, and utilize those microwaves; not a big deal, but a little bit of an inconvenience.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless. Everything was kept very clean, and looked well organized. The gym was pretty sufficient. It only has one bench, but it has a nice corner stacking machine that you can do a multitude of different exercises on. It had individual dumbbells up to I think it was 55lbs., along with 2 treadmills, and 2 ellipticals. So other than the fact that only one person can work out on a bench at a time, it's a pretty resourceful and useful hotel gym. Towels and water are also supplied in the gym rooms.
One thing the ladies will appreciate is that the shower and toilet are in their own room; no steamy foggy mirrors/room when trying to get ready.
The presentation of the breakfast area was very nice, and they had a great variety, but as with most continental breakfasts, the taste doesn't always match up to the expectation. The eggs were a little dry, and seemed like they were some sort of formulated egg, possibly from powder or liquid. If they were real scrambled eggs, it would be much better. Also they did not have the bacon I saw on the website available. Instead, they had bacon crumbles which were not quite crispy enough, but the flavor was good. Other than those couple of little adjustments, the breakfast was suffice. You can eat til your heart's content, and head out not feeling hungry. I'm sure everyone has stayed at a hotel where they could not even tolerate the mere thought of consuming the continental breakfast being served, but this is not such a place. Could it be better yes, but was it edible, absolutely.
If you're one who desires not to indulge in the continental breakfast, there is a Peach Valley Cafe within walking distance, along with a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a Stonewood for a nice dinners, a Massage Envy if you're looking to relax. Let's not forget, you can go see Dr. Young and get the deal of a lifetime at $8.99 per unit of Botox at Goldfinger Aesthetics! They also have a Wolfgang Bakery to surprise your pup to a nice grooming or treat.
Overall, we will be utilizing this hotel more often for work trips...
Read moreI have been and visited this hotel on multiple occasions but this time was extreme disappointment. Upon our first check in one of our rooms wasn't even cleaned even though we told they were ready and there was no crib as requested and mentioned at check in. We had no other issues but our flight got canceled so we needed to stay another night. We had no issues booking and checking in again but again there was no crib in the room checking in at 1pm. We let the front desk know and they radioed someone to bring it up. We stayed for awhile near the pool and the crib was still not there so when going to get ready for dinner we told another front desk manager it was still not there. We waited for half an hour but we're going to miss our reservation so we left after telling them yet again assuming they would leave it in the room. Later on in the evening when we returned to our room at around 845pm on 8/6. There was still no crib in the room, at this point I wanted to put my young daughter to bed since it was getting late and being on vacation it can be exhausting. My father went downstairs yet again to tell yet another front desk manager Danielle and she said someone would bring it down. 15 minutes goes by still no crib. I walk down myself since my daughter is becoming more and more fussy and did not want to sleep on the bed. She informed me the other manager was bringing it upstairs. I go upstairs and wait once again... still nothing my father calls downstairs and asks yet again and she says he's having issues putting it together. My mom calls down again after another 10 minutes... she says we have no problem putting it together she will go to him and get it. The manager sends her upstairs to where the other front desk manager is and he isn't even attempting to put it together he's in a storage closet. After receiving the half put together crib she attempts to bring it downstairs without any help from this man who wasn't even attempting to put together the crib. She had to drag it down to the room by herself as he stood there watching her. This crib is a very SIMPLE courtesy provided at any hotel why it took 8 hours to receive it is inexcusable and we will all think twice about...
Read moreThey're going through a remodel right now so you'll have to deal with it in one way or another. I've stayed here nearly a dozen times in the last many months because it's not an awful thing and the price is right, but you ought to know.
It's not just the daytime or weekend sounds of construction, or the occasional wafts of construction worker gonja strong enough to give you a contact buzz, they're also willing to rent out unfinished rooms. And that generally means fit and finish issues like the lack of backsplashes behind the wetbar or bathroom sink among many other things most people won't even notice or complain about ...but with the lack of backsplashes has come the ghost ants from spills or whatever all else collecting up behind the counters. There's that and in my experience the occasional construction worker on a lift peering in your 3rd floor room for whatever reason; probably an honest leer but who needs or wants to worry about that?
Moreover, when they built this place they made the bathroom such that you'll have to Tetris yourself in and out of it because the space is very limited between the door and toilet. There's that and the washup sink's in the other room which is always seemingly unhygenic to me.
Anyway, there's also form over function issues which not only annoys me but in my own stupidity ended up costing me a whole lot of money. You see, the bedside nightstands are built-in and very unusually small and most of the usable space is taken up by their things, alarm clock, etc. So, there's really not much space to put your things or outlets to plug in your things and you'll run the risk of knocking everything off while you sleep becuase it's so close to the bed. I ended up knocking everything off one night, including a water bottle which spilled on and killed my Bose QC Ultras. @#$! that was an expensive mistake.
And because of it, I'll never stay here again, no matter the rates. To be fair, I will say they're one of the easier hotels to hook your own devices up to. And the bedding's nice enough. On breakfast, it's not the worst but it's also...
