To get 1 star out of me should be considered a huge favor. I'm new to LA, just moved to Koreatown -perfect. I thought "IM GOING TO HAVE KOREA BBQ NEAREST TO MY SPOT as often as I can!" I've been to this location about 5 times, first 3 experiences were just ok, tolerable enough to get through it for I was accompanied by great friends, sharing great energy. To be honest, the price is what kept me, but I rather spend $40 a plate than endure this again.
At this point I've been here enough times to know that I gave them a chance and they continuously failed me. They would continuously throw raw meat on the cooked meat mixing it all in at once as we were eating. Im sure it should be separated. It was very unsanitary. The waiter's energy was lethargic and THE LEAST HELPFUL when I addressed the unsanitary practices. He ignored me and continued doing so. The gentleman made it seem as if we were bothering him when we'd make simple request to have things that should've already been at our table. He also waited until our metal plate was completely burned black before changing it one time too many. He paid us no mind and continuously skipped by our table as if we were getting FREE food or something. Once it took 30+ mins just to order. We were sitting there just waiting forever and they hadn't even given us our drinks either as we waited- mind you this is a table of about 6 people.
My niece and sister visiting from back home over 3,000 miles away requested Korean BBQ at least one evening out of their visit and it was such a let down for them. We are used to the great service back at home I guess. I can honestly say that there is ONE lovely lady there who always seem to be very helpful and on her toes. I think she may own or run the place, but outside of that its a hard NO for me. I'm finding another Korean BBQ spot even its not as convenient.
DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. The reasonable price of the food comes at a cost. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The...
Read moreThe food was good, but the service and attitude the workers give you is not in the slightest okay. First off, when I pay for the all I can eat option that better be what I get. They tried to give us the check twice even though we were trying to order another round. They can't even say that they were trying to move along traffic for new customers either since the place wasn't even that busy (I was on the second floor with multiple available tables). Secondly, we'd get totally ignored when we were calling them for service. When we did get their attention (to try and give us our unwanted not yet needed check) they gave us sour faces as if they didn't want to deal with us. Lastly, my biggest issue was paying. I had no problem paying and getting the heck out of there, but as my party and I were already out the door and getting valet to return our car, 2 employees from the restaurant hunted us down to ask why we didn't tip. A tip is a symbol of gratitude and acknowledgement for one's actions and service. In my book, they didn't deserve the tip, however that didn't matter, they demanded a tip! Can you believe that?! I was so surprised. Among the discussion I had with one of the employees, the other walked over to the valet to what I assume was to stop him from retrieving the car until they got what they wanted. In disbelief I gave in, gave them a small tip and left (I should have stood my ground though). What goes around, comes around. If you're looking for a great place besides Bud Namu, I now go to Castle Korean B.B.Q. (a lot smaller, less fancy) located near Wilshire/Western where it is actually all you can eat. Meat, rice, salad and water for all you can eat. Oh and a side note, I also didn't enjoy my visit since I had to pay for another tiny bowl of rice, whereas Castle gives it as part of the all you can...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!! This restaurant has the WORST service! I went there last night for dinner with a couple of friends and we decided to split the bill in half. We told the guy and he rudely asked how much we were going to leave as a tip. I asked why I had to decide right at that moment if my card hadn't be charged for the cost of the food yet. He said that they had to charge the tip at that moment and rudely asked"are you going to leave 20 or 25 %" tip. I look at him because he talking to me in a rude way and ask "so you're asking me how much tip I am going to leave so that you charge it now" and he responded "yes". Due to the service I tell him that I will only be leaving a 15% tip and so he walks away to charge the cards. When he comes back he hands us the receipt to sign. And cause he had already told me that the tip had already been charged I put $0 on the tip section. He saw that I put $0 and he said "so you're going to leave me a cash tip?". I respond: "no I am not leaving a cash tip because you told me you already charged the tip". And this guy literally just yelled "NO!"... "you have to leave a $5 tip and you (my other friend) have to leave a $6 tip, thats 15%". He continued to stand over us to make sure that we were leaving a tip, so my friend asked him to give us time to decide how much tip we wanted to leave. He walked away, but continued to hover around. Once we were done and handed him the receipts he looked over both receipts to make sure that there was a tip.
Honestly, 15% tip was being too generous given that the service was horrible not just after our meal, but during our meal as well. I do not recommend this place to anyone! They don't care about customer service they just want to make sure that you're tipping for a quality of service that...
