I have been coming to R Bar for 3 years and counting, and it has always been good music, inexpensive food, and delicious drinks. It was not until recently that my view on R Bar changed negatively. On February 11, 2023, at 11:23 p.m. I was sitting at the bar, and a female bartender (Caucasian with glasses) happened to be bartending. I inquired if there were any suggested drinks, and her response was, "Here is the menu!" Then, while making drinks for other customers, she managed to spill their drinks on me twice. I informed her that she had managed to spill drinks on me, and her response was, "You're at the bar! This will continue to occur to persons who sit at the bar. " She then went to her colleague and began to unprofessionally and immaturely gossip about the ordeal. I find the way she handled everything as being quite distasteful and immensely lacking customer service. Hence, why I didn't leave a tip. I hope this review finds the attention of the owners. Thank you, SW

A fun little period-specific bar in Koreatown with a lot of cozy seating and an overall great atmosphere. There are plenty of large booth with wooden tables and even some areas partitioned by semi-see-through curtains. The bar often has karaoke, which is a fun addition to the vibe. Service in general is fine, and the bartenders do their best to get to you in a timely manner. Some have complained about the service, but the three times I’ve been I’ve had no issues at all. Drinks are fairly standard, so nothing too wild there, though they do have Guinness on tap which is as common as you might think. The food is unexpectedly a high point, and the cauliflower tacos are really good! The shells are flaky and light, and the crema they top them with is delicious. Pound-for-pound, it might not be the greatest of Koreatown’s bars, but it’s unique, fun and vibey, and has tasty eats. It’s worth checking out when you’re out and about.

A great little bar where everybody knows your name. One of the gems of Los Angeles, this is one of those friendly bars where everyone is super chill and there’s no pretension. The food is amazing tbh. Surprisingly good. The fried are crispy and crunchy with a hint of rosemary. The karaoke is fun and laid back. The people are warm. The bathrooms could use a little updating but work…sometimes. Parking can be an issue. Wish they had something worked out with a parking lot where you can park for a couple bucks. Overall this place is a great place for a birthday or when you just want to get out of the house and sing a few tunes.

I really love this bar and will always come back but the food is horrid and staff is kinda off and they let this baby in the bar. The atmosphere is vampire meets boat imo. Low lighting and amazing wood design everywhere. Doesn’t get crowded until karaoke time.

I saw another review saying they were denied access to the bar and to even order food but I went legit last week and they allowed a BABY in the bar. Biggest turn off to a bar. If you are gonna be denie access to an actually adult that just forgot their id but allow this yt family to come in with their kids is a lil wild.

I’ve ordered all the vegetarian friendly food and the ONLY thing worth the money is the fries and cheese fries. The Mac and cheese sounds yummy but it’s legit one of the worse I’ve ever had. More like a bad cheese pasta. Wayyyy too much crumble. The veggie flat bread is legit a scam. The happy hour and ‘normal price’ is the exact same 😭 it’s oily yet untoasted. It’s peta bread with a thousand island dressing smothered on top of burnt veggies. Had hope for the mozzarella sticks but there HUGE and UNSEASONED. Wasn’t tasty at all just bland cheese that wasn’t melty.

I would come here JUST for the beer and...

The 4 to 5 star ratings I'm seeing are amazing. I usually don't review unless it's a good place; Nonetheles, this is upsetting. I've been coming here for years till now. I live around the corner. Bald skinny cracked out Billy Corgan lookin bartender fella demanded tips and cut me off for not tipping. Skimpy bevs. Dreadlocked security will hit on your GF. R bar is great. Made the owner Laura look really bad. Mob like mentality, making customers second class. Best bartender their has long curly hair. I would tip that guy all day if I could. Save your money and energy. The bar thinks the public sidewalk is their property just because they have chairs and tables set up outside, uneducated. Security is a doof. Avoid the little bald guy and dreads. It acts like a spoiled brat. Wouldn't be surprised if his parents owned the bar. Gangstalking environment, save your energy. Send some auditors. Go to cafe Brass Monkey instead. Great energy. Tipped the bartender @ Brass 20$ happily. I would be embarrassed begging for tips and refusing service for your personal gain and not the business. I feel bad for them...

Atmosphere is upbeat. Friendly staff. Bartenders are pleasant and polite. Food is good reasonably priced. Wednesday through Sunday. Not sure what's going on Wednesday night but Thursday night and Friday karaoke. Saturday I'm thinking was dancing and that was pretty fun with a DJ. And Sunday more karaoke never been there on a Sunday but always a good crowd. Mostly Younger but diverse crowd pretty much. Everybody seems to be respectful and having fun. Never have seen any kind of ruckus. They do still ask for covid verification. But all in all very good time I've been there at least a dozen times and always enjoyed myself there. Well Friday night is a bit loud and no karaoke which in my opinion should be karaoke every night they're open. The DJ who was supposed to have people dancing was just playing loud music super long did not take requests for people who want to dance to certain music he just played his stuff and he was the only one that was enjoying it. So I had a couple drinks and I left because I couldn't even sit inside it was so loud...
