Holy crap, this place is hoppin! We went to Jjan for round 3 on a Wednesday and the place was filled with young Koreans. I can't imagine what it's like on the weekends.
Jjan is in the most unsuspecting place. We actually walked up to the front that's facing the street and the place looks like it's closed since it's all dark and the gate is down. Don't be fooled. The entrance is actually out back so you have to walk around to Irolo and make a left.
The service was amazing here. They respond super fast to the bells. They forgot one of our dishes and when we nicely asked about it, she went and got it for us right away for free.
They have this really interesting frozen beer. The foam on top is thick and super cold. It really keeps the beer cold for an extended period of time. I was nursing my beer for over half an hour and it was still nice and cold.
I haven't tried too many of their dishes but the kim pi don was good. Kim pi don stands for kimchi pizza donkatsu. It's fried sliced pork, topped with this tomato and kimchi sauce then topped with melted cheese. They also have other variety of meat other than donkatsu. I saw this is Kdrama recently so I guess it's a thing in Korea right now.
They also had hot cheetos topped with nacho cheese. For $10, it's kind of a rip off but the nacho cheese really works with the hot cheetos. Eating all of that with chopsticks just feels so right.
I will be back again for sure to try their other dishes although I'll probably try to stick to weekdays so it's not...
Read moreSo I don’t write reviews at all, but this one left a very sour taste in my mouth. My GF came across this place somewhere in social media and thought it would be fun to come here to try their frosted beer. I thought.. why not? I have family coming from out of state, so I decided to take them here. Everything was all good up until I got the bill. I pay for it and didn’t think anything of it. Later that night I had some time to look at the bill to split the cost and request payment from friends and family. I noticed that I got charged for 3 random items that I did not order at all (listed below). I called that same day to have the military soup refunded back as I’d just eat the cost for the two smaller priced items. The gentlemen on the phone said he would complete my request at the end of the shift, which was reasonable. I write this now after looking at my statement, to see that nothing has been done. This is not how you treat your customers and pray on people by adding random items to their bill. Very unprofessional! I was going to bring more people back here when I come back up to LA, but that will no longer happen.

Read moreJJAN exceeded all my expectations! My friends and I decided to give this place a try, and we were blown away by the amazing flavors and cozy atmosphere. I couldn't resist ordering the spicy chicken wings, pork belly with green onions and let me tell you, they were finger-licking good! The perfect balance of heat and flavor had me craving more with every bite. My friend opted for the beef bulgogi, and it was a hit! The tender beef combined with fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked rice made for a satisfying and delicious meal. We were constantly asking for refills! Overall, JJAN is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean cuisine with a modern twist. Trust me, you won't be...
