Update: my new favorite. Have been several times since writing the review below. My go-to Chinese restaurant now.
I really liked it and will try again for sure. Tried it today for the first time based on reviews read here. I have another local favorite, but love trying new places.
I loved the hot and sour soup. It was pretty hot, which I love. If my mouth burns after, I like it. It's everything I want it to be. Generous proportions of tofu and bamboo shoots. Not too thick. The right blend of hot and sour for me.
The Kung Pao beef was very good. Maybe a little sweeter than I prefer. It had a very rich flavor. More than most. The beef was quite tender unlike a lot of places. Seemed like good quality meat.
The egg roll was a surprise. Had very good flavor. Wasn't mushy. It was a little greasy like you'd expect but not overly greasy. Not sure what the flavors are that were so good, but I'd say they are a step above most places.
The staff were very nice and friendly. Very good service.
Lunch special was under $13. Well worth it.
It is the typical storefront restaurant that has been open for quite a while. Outdated decor but that doesn't bother me.
Parking is pretty limited, as it is in a small shopping center with several other stores. I was there on a weekday for lunch and no one seemed to find it difficult to find parking, but I can see where it might be difficult at times.
Bathroom was relatively clean.
Excited to try other dishes here.
Update: been back several times. Very good food. Very friendly staff. Was there for lunch today and the place was full when we left. Excellent Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef, and the fried Potstickers were the biggest I've ever had and by far the most...
Read moreDo not order from here. Took credit card order over the phone them called five minutes from arrival to say cash only. Hung up when we complained, then called us back to tell us the credit machine was not working after certain hours; not my problem. Making an order for food overly complicated when people are trying to order food to help local businesses makes people less likely to order. Also, use credit cards was to avoid contact in the first place.
Update on 16MAY2020: After the whole ordeal that occurred from ordering the food the last time we were not going to order from this place again until we tasted the food. It was so good. So we decided to order from them again, however we used GrubHub instead of calling the restaurant directly. This was a better way to order as the food came really quickly and the ordering process was no hassle. As usual the food was delicious. Because of the great tasting food, I updated the review and changed the rating from 1...
Read moreFood is good, which is the most important. But, the lady taking your order is rude. They don't have "eat in" dining, so I got the lunch special "to go". The lunch special includes a drink and soup. She said "to go" orders don't include a drink or soup.. That's not my fault I can't dine in. Why wouldn't they at least give you a small drink to go??? So before I left, I asked for an extra "empty" to go plate. She hands me a small size rice box. I specifically asked for the plastic container. She hands me the.box. Mind you I was very friendly,.said please etc. She jumps on the phone ignores me for 5 mins. as I politely wait for the other plate. She said .50cents. I told her, you aren't giving me my drink which is worth at least 1.50, nor my soup which is about 2or3.00, but you want to charge me .50 for a to go plate??? I handed her the 50 cents and walked out. I never raised my voice, I just questioned her. She didn't reply, not even...
