As a food lover, I recently had the pleasure to be at the Jackdaw Coffee & Bourbon Bar, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with their breakfast menu. In particular, the Jackdaw Brekkie burrito and the Top O' the mornin' Breakwich were absolute standouts.

The Jackdaw Brekkie burrito was a real winner. The spinach wrap was a nice touch, adding a subtle but tasty green element to the dish. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection - light, fluffy and full of flavor. The bacon and ham added a lovely salty note to the dish and were perfectly balanced. Overall, it was a filling and satisfying breakfast option that I would highly recommend.

The Top O' the mornin' Breakwich was another standout dish. The toasted sandwich was hearty and delicious, and the scramble eggs were once again cooked to perfection. We arrived around 10 am on a Sunday morning, surprised there wasn’t a wait after passing Wild Eggs with people lined up down the sidewalk right across the street. We ordered the Bourbon Cream Latte, breakfast quesadilla, fresh fruit cup, Irish soda bread toast, and oatmeal. Everything was delicious and the baristas were attentive. Our party of two was unable to finish all of the food. The portions were generous for the price. The eatery isn’t large, but it wasn’t crowded. The indoor seating opens up to additional outdoor table options and even with the glass garage-style overhead door open, the temperature inside was lovely on a very warm and humid September morning. If you're visiting for a weekend or a Louisville native Jackdaw is one of those gems everyone should try at least once. I go to University close by and would stop here frequently on the way to class. Even though is a little further away than some other options closer to campus, the extra time was worth it. Their food is delicious, fresh, and they're willing to make accommodations for any dietary restrictions or allergies. My go to was the jackdaw burrito and Miel latte. But I love their pastries too.
