We are in from out of town for Distillery visits. Ole Forester was closed for a private event so we decided it would be nice to get dinner and all of us were hungry for Mexican food. This restaurant had good ratings and was close. This place is super small and we barely had room to move at our table. We were the first table when you enter the door. We could overlook this if the food was good. I judge a Mexican restaurant by its salsa. If it’s good generally the rest of the food is good. The salsa here tastes like crushed tomatoes. There wasn’t any spices, onions, or peppers used or at least it didn’t taste like it (bland). My husbands Chori Pollo was the best he’s ever had. My friend got the Pork tacos and that is all that was in it, pork. No sauce, cheese, lettuce or anything else. Very bland and dry. I got fajita nachos and they were just ok. My friends husband ordered the beef tacos special and the waiter kept asking if he wanted steak or chicken on his fajita tacos. We kept telling he just wanted the beef tacos. When they were delivered he tried to tell them no he wanted the beef taco special. He ended up eating them and said they were good. When the bill came they were twice the price. They ended up adjusting the bill and were very nice about it. The staff...
Read moreI'm a usually a very positive person but this was not great. I thought we'd be getting authentic Mexican dishes. My taco looked like it came from Taco Bell, yellow hard shell with lettuce and shredded cheese...dry, what appeared to be shreded costco rotisserie chicken. My tamale was dry, looked like it was microwaved and placed on the plate. My husband's dish was small and flavorless. He had the chimmichanga- which we both were excited for. He asked for carnitas and steak and she said he could only have 1 meat, he said she could charge him extra if needed and she was no they didn't do that...which led me to assume they froze their food and much was pre-made. The rice was plain, it was simply ketchup with rice...mushy ans no flavor. The beans were basic, again, no flavor.
The service was good, she was quick but also, there were only 3 other families in the place. Things were fine until she gave the check to my husband. I picked up the check and put my card on it...assuming she was going to take the card and bill and go process it...she then asked me to get up and pay at the front desk before we were ready to leave and my husband was done with his meal. That was strange.
I would NOT recommend and would NOT go back. Taco Bell is better and...
Read moreWe were walking around looking for a quick bite to eat before going on the Classic Biplane Tours and we saw this place. There were people sitting outside and the food smelled good smelled good so we went inside. I will saw the hostess was NOT the friendliest gal around, but the bartender was exceptionally good (especially for a busy Saturday lunch rush). They seemed to be short on staff considering the hostess seemed to also be doing some busses and the bartending seemed to be doing most of the waiting for not only the bar but also the few tables on the inside. We noticed that there was one guy from the kitchen running food. Even that being said they were getting the food out pretty quickly. I noticed that a lot of the people, if not all at one point, all were drinking margaritas. I wondered to myself if they were known for their margaritas. I didn't want to chance it though since we were going on an airplane ride directly after. Their salsa & quest was good, I got the mushroom quesadilla which was actually really good and my husband got chimichanga and loved it. I think as far as Mexican food goes, it was average it wasn't exceptional which...
