10/10. First of all, I would like to say that, despite spending ten years in the hospitality industry, I have never once been satisfied enough to write a public review, but mammoth creek inn was perfection on every level. The room: spotless, every detail thought of—quality bedding and the most flattering full length mirror I’ve ever seen in my life and lets be honest we could all use a mirror that gives us a confidence boost on vacation! The bathroom—fantastic shower head in the shower, extra heater to get nice and toasty, and the cleanest grout I’ve ever seen. We stayed in the loft room, which had a spacious area to store all our ski gear, with a heater to warm our boots by. We had more than enough space, and the kitchen had everything you could need. In fact, the location is perfect, with many restaurants walking distance from the property, but we enjoyed cooking in our kitchen so much that we didn’t venture out to any of them! Speaking of location, the Mountain Views from every window were unbeatable. I watched the most beautiful sunrise from the couch, and managed to get a wonderful photo without stepping outside. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the stayover service—the best I’ve ever had!! We were celebrating a birthday so we enjoyed some wine and charcuterie and made a meal, and let’s just say there were a few crumbs and dishes still out when we left early for the mountain the next morning. When we returned the dishes had been done for us, the couch had even been vacuumed, our robes hung up, and the yoga mats rolled up. What a wonderful feeling! I also enjoyed the oatmeal each morning from the continental breakfast, and would have liked to use the steam room, but honestly after a long day skiiing I enjoyed relaxing with our Mountain Views too much to want to leave the room! The innkeeper Leina’ala was fantastic in helping me surprise my partner with cake, ice cream, flowers, and champagne, and was gracious in answering my (many) questions prior to arrival—- speaking of arrival, the checkin experience was lovely with the roaring fire and hot chocolate and water ready for us in the lobby—loved it! We loved everything about this property and can’t wait to return! Thank you for a...
Read moreAt first I wasn't going to review this place. I liked it very much and didn't want to spoil it, price wise or crowd wise. But it is need of an honest review. First off, the views are a wonderful, talking about all rooms with a shared lanai. The kitchens are granite counters, but that is all. Sure the fridge is fine, no dishwasher. The ranges suck. If you want to cook on a stove, an electric one. It is not going to happen. The cook tops are all f'd up. None of the thermo-electrics are plugged in the way they should be. BUT, the view from the parlors, only one word, WONDERFUL! Sit on a couch, lay on a sofa and look at the views. AWESOME! Depending on what time of year your are there. NO A/C, just a piddly fan to keep the loft cool. Sucks. Ski time, no problem, you'll be comfy. Summer, sweat in the poly sheets. A queen bed in the loft with a pull out sofa and a shower. Downstairs, a pull out sofa and a bath/shower. Sleeps four easily. Six if your are good friends. Many stairs to climb, so if you are in a wheel chair, oh well you are not staying here, they are grandfathered in. Free continental breakfast in the basement next to the sauna and spa. Why five stars? Cause of the views!!!
BTW, if you are in a wheel chair too bad for you. You can't ski and you can't hike, so go ahead and try to sue them. Good luck with that. Stay home and you can't complain. Ooh ooh, if you can climb a few stair cases and a spiral then you get to play pool from 2pm to 9pm. If you drive a truck or van or pull a trailer, park in back. Lots of room to turn around in. Leave the lot along the side for...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to come up to Mammoth for a few days to enjoy the slopes. On our way up our car broke down early morning. The manager and we presume owner, Leina'ala, was so generous to allow us to check in early. She was helpful during check in and went through all of the amenities they had to offer along with the red line bus that ended up being our main transportation through out the trip (only a 3 min walk from the hotel and dropped us off at main lodge). Fast forward 2 days later our car was still in the shop and wasn’t going to be done until later in the after noon (past our check out time) Leina'ala was more than understanding of our situation, again, and allowed us to have a late checkout. The grace we were shown at this hotel was incredible and I highly recommend staying here. Not to mention the room was extremely clean and the amenties were great (spa, gym and sauna). They even have a billiard room upstairs which helped us pass some time. Next time we are in Mammoth we will definitely...
