Im sorry to leave a bad review. I was not going to because i was thinking maybe it was an "off day". They have a lot of good reviews so maybe my experience was an anomaly? However i just got my credit card statement and when i add the cost to the experience then im going to speak up. We were on our way back from camping taking a back road. I went in to see what the menu and the front counter girl seemed to not really care to be helpful. I went back to the car and because nothing else is around my girlfriend and I decided to go in and get some food. No one was at the counter when we came back in 2 minutes later and we waited and waited and waited. Eventually someone, who I think might be an owner, walked by the hallway to the left but didn't ask us if we needed help. After about 5 (maybe even 10) minutes I went back searching for someone and found the person from the hallway in the back kitchen. She apologized and said she thought someone was helping us. When she (the lady from the kitchen) came to take our order it was very unorthodox. Evey item we ordered she would stop the order to then go and get items each seperaterly, rather than take our entire order at once and then put it together. I used to work for Sysco and was a restaurant consultant so I kind of know what I'm talking about. Then she gave my girlfriend her food and told me mine would be out shortly. Why would you serve a couple food at 2 different times? My girlfriend (who is a vegetarian and knows that food) finished her kind of cold mediocre quiche more than 10+ minutes before I had even found out about my Tri tip sandwich status. I had to actively go back to the counter and tell them I want the sandwich to go. Who wants to sit there and eat their sandwich when my company has already finished her meal? I ate the cookie I bought while she was eating the Quince and it was tasty but very hard (almost stale? But maybe thats the way it was supposed to be?) I got the Tri tip sandwich and we went on our way. I tried to eat the sandwich in the car but quickly realized the cuts of try tip were close (or more) than 1/2 inch thick! Try eating several slices of half inch thick meat on a soft bun and see you how difficult it is. I finally pulled to the side of the road and eat a few pieces with my fingers and then just gave up. On a positive note, the flavor was good. Long story short: terrible service and timing. Ok to food, but badly presented or conceptualized. And the final insult the price: One small piece of lukewarm quiche, one peanut butter cookie, one glass of lemonade, and one tri tip sandwich =$33.44!!!! I don't have the receipt and can't remember feeling like that was the cost. But rather than call the credit card company to check, im just gluing to pay it....but with this review. (The reason i remember this so well is precisely because it was so bad. Kind of like you dont remembet traffic unless there was a terrable wreck. This was that.) Again i hope this was an off day. But i absoulty believe the normal front counter girl does not like or care for her job. The person that helped us was nice but i had ther impression knows way more about baking than service. Sorry but have to leave this for 33.44...
Read moreI ordered a wedding cake in August for my wedding this past weekend. The owner was initially very responsive and easy to work with. I sent several inspiration photos and requested a small two-tier wedding cake, which she confirmed she could do. I paid for the cake in September.
On the morning of my wedding, my father went to pick up the cake, but the employee at the shop said there was no order under my name and no cake had been made. She tried several times to contact the owner while my dad was there and while I was also calling. Eventually, the employee said she would start making a cake right then.
I finally reached the owner, who apologized and said she would make the cake and deliver it to my reception. I told her I was very unhappy and wanted a refund, and she said she understood and apologized again. Later, she texted me a photo of the cake she made—it was completely different from what I had ordered or discussed with her. I responded that it was not the cake we agreed upon, but I haven’t heard from her since. I also requested a refund via Venmo, my original payment method, which she has ignored.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend using this bakery for special events. Unfortunately, this experience doesnt even...
Read moreWe usually go to this place every time we go to mammoth but this last time we had such a poor experience. We spent about $60 on goodies and were very excited for them but the individual behind the register seemed to be put off by us for some reason. When we paid for our goods, she left to go to the back kitchen area and didn’t come back. We had purchased several breads and cookies so we thought she had stepped to back to get a bag because she didn’t say anything to us. She just took the money and went to the back while we waited. She didn’t even hand us back the goodies. I ended up walking to the small window to ask for a bag and saw she was just standing there eating and looked at me. She seemed bothered and just gave me the folded bag and left again. So we just ended up having to reach behind the front register area to grab our goodies that had been placed in smaller baggies/boxes and loaded up our bag ourselves. She didn’t say goodbye or thank you or anything. The previous times there was another individual who was so kind and shared with us all the flavors she had and was so excited to share about the goods. So this time I was very sad about...
