I come here maybe once a week sometimes twice if there’s a good movie or two out. Yesterday I went and got charged four times. We went in bought two tickets. The lady comes to our seats at the beginning of the movie asking if she could see our tickets or if we ‘forgot’ to buy tickets. She's says she checked out every other person in the theater and we were the only ones to use the kiosk and we had an extra person. Her and the other worker were too busy talking/gossiping about ‘the big boss’ laughing away and ignoring us. So we buy the tickets and go to our theater. I look at my bank and have 2 charges for tickets as there were only 2 people (myself and my partner). She asks if she can see, I do not want to let her see my bank account as I’m not sure what her motives were as she was extremely close trying to touch/grab my phone and wallet without my permission. Especially touching my wallet was a HUGE no no. The entire interaction was extremely rude and if I’m being honest she was talking to me as if I were a toddler. I know what I paid for. We go there every week. After I ask her to please speak to me out of the theater she goes to my partner completely disregarding my request. She then only talks to my partner explaining to him what’s going on, ignoring my interjections (I am a person of color, he is not). I try and let her know the charges are there it might be a fault in the system. I can go grab the tickets from the garbage if it’s that big of a deal. My partner tells her if it’s possible to check again as we have the charges for the movie. I talk it out to my partner not wanting to make a fuss, my partner goes to buy another ticket then is charged double again. I ask what we’re supposed to do about the double charge and she says she’d give us a refund. She was clearly the manager. It’s a disappointment to have someone like that who’s supposed to be a face of a company be so arrogant and rude. Well we went back after the movie and she was no where to be found.
The bathrooms are always disgusting as well but it is a cheaper theater so just use the mall bathrooms.
Again, they lost out on a consistent customer being unprofessional and essentially seeming to scam...
Read moreWhen I visited the theater, there was a group who came into the movie theater late...about 15 minutes into the movie. They used their cell phones as flashlights and talked during the dialogue...they didn't like their first location, so they moved to the row right behind me...everyone knows this is discourteous behavior, and I asked them to stop...the female of the group assured me they just needed to see to get seated and they'd turn off the light when they settle...after a couple more minutes, and when they were seated, they still had their phones on and were still talking...when I asked them again to stop, their response was to cuss me out and the two young men with them threatened me.
I went to the manager immediately and asked if that is acceptable behavior in this theater...the manager said it isn't acceptable anywhere and went to talk to the group...the result was that the manager let the group sit back down...Now, if it was JUST the cell phone and talking, I could see the warning and allowing them to sit back down...but this group did not self correct and they had the audacity to cuss out and threaten another customer...I found it absurd that they would be allowed to stay and watch the movie when they raised it to that level...
The manager DID want to return my ticket price, which at this theater was $2.00 (maybe that is why those other customers didn't think their behavior offensive...it was only a $2.00 ticket anyway)...but the popcorn and soda was full price and I had already missed 20 minutes of the movie because of this ordeal...and I was an out of town visitor too...I would not likely be coming back...the experience was ruined for me...and I may not return to an AMC theater again...Why even bother with the extra expense of going to a Movie Theater anyway if badly behaved customers are never held accountable for ruining the experience for others...I have to wait for Kong to come on DVD to see it now...maybe that is the best way anyway...
Read moreThe prices are much more reasonable than the traditional expensive new release theaters. Many movies showing are just a little bit behind the newest releases, which means kids and adults still get to see relatively new movies before they move to rentals and streaming online. Food and snacks are a bit more than the tickets, but still affordable. The theaters are cleaned between showings and restrooms are well stocked on my visit. An old-fashioned style theater and carpeting reminding me of the 90's, and chairs are comfortable enough for a discount theater. A little crowded on the weekend (Friday thru Sunday) but the price makes up for it. My one complaint is they do not have any options for hearing impaired or deaf viewers. There are no captioning devices or CC showings for the movie I went to see. All of the regular big-time theaters now let you borrow a small captioning device that would sit in your drink holder and give captions, but when I asked about it at this theater, the staff didn't even understand what I was asking for, and was not apologetic or understanding that I was disappointed. I have a hard time hearing dialogue among the loudness, but again, the price discount was enough to make this a small complaint....
