The most Racist place I have ever stayed! Long but Necessary! I was on vacation to visit family I have not seen in 5 years. As I checked in I explained all of this to the manager. I also explained I am disabled. Everything seemed fine and the manager said there would be no issues meeting our needs. I rented 2 room 1 for a week and 1 for 3 days. They took my card Everything was fine. I sent my husband in to get the keys and from the moment my Hispanic husband stepped foot in the lobby Everything changed. Now the manager wants to see everyone over 18 ID and they have to sign paperwork. None of this was mentioned 5 mins prior. We finally get all the paperwork done 30 mins later and get in our rooms. It's 109° outside but the room we rented for a week was super hot. It's not cooling down at all finally at 1030pm we can't take it anymore and are all sweating and miserable. A man comes to the room and unpluggs the ac unit and plugs it back in and says give in an hr if it still won't work we will figure something out. Seeing us sweating and saying out loud oh ya it's really hot in here why would we need to wait another hr? We wait. After the hr nothing so we ask can we please be moved to another room. The guy didn't want to move us u could tell. Even saying he could get someone to fix the unit in the morning... Finally after going back and forth with the guy he puts us in another room, we have to move everything for a weeks stay at 1230am. The next day my family decided to use the pool. But shortly after getting in got asked to leave the pool area. An Indian man came and told them "you need to leave so they can swim", pointing to a white couple. I was not aware this happened until hrs later. I again let the issues go. At 530 pm we are taking shower to get ready for dinner and the bath tub wont drain. Then the toilet over flows. We immediately went to the office and they gave us a plunger. Then the second room next door toilet over flows. We plunge and get the toliets flushing. At 1030 pm the room phone rings and it's the office calling saying the entire hotel is being evacuated due to plumbing issues. We understood. We quickly started packing and trying to scurry to find another hotel. We were told we would receive a full refund and out deposits back the next morning. We are packing and an Indian man came and started yelling at my husband that he needs to pack and leave now. Mind u we have a weeks worth of stuff and 2 families to get moved and I am disabled. My husband responds and says I am going as fast as I can my wife is disabled. The guy is still yelling "you leave now". By this point I am super tired and upset but trying to get us to the other hotel. We ask for something in writing about our deposit and refund and they refused to give it to us. At this point I realize somethings going on. The next morning I call regarding our deposits and refunds when I'm told we will be getting nothing back at all. That the plumbing issues were started in our room but the lady can't even tell me what room number it was. I ask for proof she starts yelling saying they don't have to prove anything. I say we'll I will come there and we can figure this out. I am then told if I come on the property they will call the police. Me not being from here and not wanting to end up in jail on vacay lost out on about $1000. This is the most unfair and disgusting thing me or my family has even been put through. I hope no one ever has to go through what we did. And to think there is nothing I can do about it! Don't get scammed!...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the staff was never poor. Not exceptional, but I am OK with that too. Overall appearance when walking in and through halls to the room was clean. Room was clean also. My major and I do mean MAJOR disappointment, which doesn't fall on the fault of the hotel although, I have seen MANY complaints in the reviews regarding it is the smell. Thankfully it is NOT inside, but driving anywhere the 2 mile radius of this hotel, if you decide to hang out in the Jacuzzi or pool at night, you will get SMACKED in the face with the smell of the Dairy Farm across the street. It's awful. It's so strong it's as if it's sitting under your nose. I'm used to farms, but this isn't a farm smell.....mostly urine or something. Anyway, it's a not hotels fault but I will next time stay at a different location. No way would I want to sit outside at the pool taking this in.
The first night stay I was freezing all night sharing a room with my brother. Next day I called front desk for a blanket and they said they only had a few that go in rotation and all were already gone. UGH so there was a thermostat war with my brother and I.
I have to also complain about the shower. It was AWFUL. There was no water pressure at all and out of the 4 days there depending on time of day the water was barely warm or chill. So with low water pressure on top of it, the showers were cold. No bueno.
Breakfast is like any other continental breakfast. The cooked food they had was scrambled eggs, cheap bacon, (sorry but im a bacon snob) & Biscuits and Gravy. Let's just say I ate anything that wasn't made in the kitchen, no disrespect to the staff. I am just a picky eater. You do have your waffles, which it would be nice if they had fruit to top it off with. Cereal and breads, along with yogurt.
We had vouchers for a free dinner, but I opted to eat good. If you are not a picky eater and your in it for the free meal, than you should have no complaints.
The bed was hard but I managed. In my room with two queens and a pull out we had a fridge & microwave.
Now, this is my last comment. I do not have proof but from my viewing, outside our window we can see straight down into the pool. One morning, my brother pointed out that it looked like there was (waste) in the jacuzzi. Sure enough, it did look like it. I just thought maybe from above looking down it was paint chipped off. When we went for breakfast moments later I saw staff spreading something into the Jacuzzi and turning it on full blast. When we went back up, what we saw was gone. So, either this falls on really disgusting guest or locals. Either way, this is exactly why I hate public pools or jacuzzi's.
Overall, for the negative reviews itself I wouldnt stay at this location again. But staff was good. Just don't know how else a hotel has a chance to...
Read moreThis was our 5th year staying at the Superstition Springs Inn during the winter months. We stay for at least two months each year. We have experienced stays above and beyond the normal motel stays. This year I had broken a bone in my foot during December, so when we checked in I was using crutches and a cane. The staff was always there to help me if I needed help. Over the five years of staying at this motel, we have seen many improvements. The rooms have been updated with new carpet and furniture. We always enjoy the pool area and are so happy to see the improvements made in that area. We actually can fall asleep in the pool area! The pool area is very secure so you feel safe. Breakfast has also been improved with a nice selection of hot food options. Teresa or Holly are there each day attending to the breakfast room and help anyone needing helping. Lupe and her housekeeping staff will keep your room clean and refreshing. You always see a smile when they come to your door to clean the room. It shows they like their work and are proud of the service they can give you. You will also be greeted, when arriving, by a welcoming face. The front desk staff is very informed on what the motel can offer you and the area around Mesa. We had stayed at a different BW motel on our way to Mesa. While there I had asked to use a $25.00 BW coupon and was told I was not able to use it at their motel. When we checked in at SS Inn, Stephen helped us to put the coupon toward our stay. This was great to see that the staff in informed on the BW extras. Congrats to Christie and her entire staff. We highly recommend this motel to anyone staying in...
