I have a preferred loyalty to another hotel brand, but we are staying at this Marriott for a conference. We have only been here a few hours, but so far I am appreciating the other hotel brand so much more. This stay has been plagued by annoyances and inconveniences, both large and small. Hey, where are the ice machines? Wi-Fi access? When is the restaurant open and what kind of food? We have had to search or wander to find this basic information, and our entire first evening has been this way: a slow or non responsive TV remote, a really poor channel guide that is difficult to navigate, a coffee maker with no coffee (I had to ask housekeeping the next day), impossible to read shampoo/lotion/conditioner bottles in the shower (and try finding the body wash when you are in the shower without your glasses on) … just a lot of rather small things that have left me feeling really annoyed with this experience - it reflects thoughtlessness and a poor overall consideration for customers. But I am beyond irritated with the bed - pulling down the blanket to go to sleep, we found there is a flat sheet sitting on the mattress - no fitted sheet, nothing tucked in, and it doesn’t cover the mattress at the top. I contacted the front desk, to learn that Marriott does not use fitted sheets. I think I would have less of an issue with this if it were a flat sheet that was tucked into the mattress - but I am pretty sure we will be sleeping on the mattress pad by morning. The resolution offered was to either give us new sheets to remake the bed or have housekeeping do this tomorrow, which is not really much of an option. We tucked in the flat sheet as best we could, and the next morning’s remade bed at least looked a little more secure. I did not sleep well that first night, however, as I really did not want to wake up sleeping on the mattress pad. I finally found restaurant hours on the tv menu, and no other information about the restaurant. The “restaurant” is more like a cafeteria - there is a counter to place orders, with a Starbucks coffee menu. The food was pretty good, and probably the best thing about this hotel. What a HUGE disappointment this Marriott experience has been.

My room was great, and the location of my room in the hotel was set back away from the main hallway. 213. The employees were all friendly and helpful. Great location and right by the Cubs Spring training field. A couple of areas for improvement. My room was not very clean. I moved the ottoman and there were food crumbs underneath it. The legs of the office chair were dusty. The mirrors in every area were dusty and dirty. Even when my room was refreshed during my stay, none of those areas were touched. None of the employees wear uniforms or name tags, which makes it hard to know who works there. Surprising to me as I have worked and stayed at many hotels in my life.

It seemed to have the feeling of being in an old ghost town, to be fair, Many of the other hotels did as well. I am a city girl and not used to such scarcity of people. They are also seemed to be just enough staff to keep it running. There was a small eatery in the lobby with beer and wine, everything I had tasted great. It’s not a luxury hotel but the rooms appear to be clean and neat. That said, there was a temperature problem in my room and no maintenance man to fix it, but they did switch me to a fully functioning room

Booked for 5 days. We were told they don’t clean the rooms unless requested. Sounds fine. We figured 3rd day get it cleaned, toss the trash etc.,, first morning shower not draining. No drain just a plate in addition no door it just had a half fixed glass. Terrible design , the water splashes out on to the floor making a mess. The maintenance man came over pretty quick. He knew what it was. Under the steel plate was a drain full of hair. Obviously it wasn’t cleaned in a while. I don’t think they clean them regularly as he said he has several every. As our stay goes on we ask for coffe cups, shampo etc It is a pain to ask for , amenities every day. Staff was excellent. They were working with what they had. You can tell they were doing more than what staff does. Third day room get nasty. We ask them to clean our room, trash is full, wet towels for several days at the shower. The tell us we need to call the night before. We schedule for the next day. In the meantime we need towels and amenities. They said housekeeping would deliver them. We come back at the end of the day with a bag on our door, 2 towels something like 30 vials of shampoo and conditioner. No coffe , cups etc…. We leave early the next day and pack our items to make it easier for housekeeping. Left a nice tip. Called them again to make sure they clean our room. Yes we are on the list . Came back about 8 pm to wet towels , garbage etc.. Called front desk ,after a conversation . The front desk guy came with amenities a big garbage can not for garbage but the other towels. I didn’t really notice but there was garbage and towels all along the hallways . We were there during the week and I believe it was busier on Fri and Sat. Made a call to corporate, they made a case. Told them staff was excellent … however the design and housekeeping are a huge problem ....

This is far the worst experience I have ever had at a marriott. I have been traveling and using marriott for over twenty five years. The staff at this location are not knowledgeable on there.Properly property and or marriott services. Upon check in my room was not clean the Carpet was wet and when I walked on to the tile.I almost slipped and Almost fell. The mirrors in the bathroom and bedroom area were dirty with Fingerprints all over them. As I left to go have dinner with family, I let the front Desk know about the issue. Is they stated to me that . They would have it taken care of by the time I came back from dinner. When I came back from dinner , nothing was done by that time housekeeping had left. They told me that it was taken care of but it definitely was not. As I got into bed the Bed sheets and pillows smelt like dirty laundry. At this point I definitely felt like this room had not been cleaned. I woke up. The next morning to let the general manager of the hotel know, He said he would take care of it. The next evening I called the hotel to find out what time the restaurant closed. They told me 9pm. I arrived at 10 minutes after 8 and the restaurant was closed. I asked the front desk why it was close and they told me that they must have closed early, . This is definitely not Marriott standards. There are other issues that happened as well.Which this review would go on for days. I would definitely stay at a different location. There there are other marriott Properties around. I would recommend. Staying at another...
