I was not greeted as a Gold member.
This was a very unusual visit. I traveled to Texas for a week of business but got very sick very fast. Turned out i was bleeding internally and i could not get out of bed one morning without fainting almost immediately.
I managed to call the front desk and ask for the paramedics that took me to the ER. I spent all day and all night in the hospital. I called the hotel to let them know i had not died and I would need to extend my stay an extra night. There was no concern or reassurance that they could help me. They simply said 'fine'.
When i got released at 2am I took a taxi back to the hotel and no one had cleaned or made my bed. It could have been because I left my tablet on the bed and i know they are not allowed to move electronics. My sheets smelt really bad because I had been cold sweating as I was fainting on the bed.
I spent the next two days in that room and I was too sick to make a big fuss. They knew I had been to the ER via ambulance but nobody even checked on me once the whole time.
The internet was horribly slow, this always drives me crazy as I can not watch Netflix or Hulu on my tablet. I ran out of towels and right at the end toilet paper. Now I have of called down and asked them for clean sheets and towels but I was just so sick i hoped they were going to check on me.
It is very scary when your so far home on your own and having that kind of experience. Just a little compassion could have gone a long way here.
The lamp shades were cracked and there was a musty smell to the whole place. I would have loved to use the Hottub but that was out of order the whole time of course.
The business center was awful too. Two computers and neither worked. They took forever to boot up and then would just circle the whole time. Waste of time having a business center. I gave up after 45 minutes.
This could have been a time for this hotel to shine but they did not seem to care.
I travel about 20 weeks a year for work at this is making think of switching brands for my hotels.
On the plus side there was a good variety of channels on the TV, plenty of shower pressure, the AC worked well, it was not noisy, and the coffee...
Read moreThree years ago I stayed with my family in this hotel for 21 days and I had guests come from different parts of the US to visit and they stayed in the same hotel. We enjoyed the hotel facilities and the service of the staff.
We tried to repeat the experience this year but to our shock the hotel was badly run down. The curtain sheers were molded, lamp shades were mangled, the tables and counter tops are filthy. I took pictures of what I found and I even video taped myself wiping the nightstand with a wet towel to show the amount of dirt that came out. (video and pictures are available to whomever is interested)
Further, Although the cleaning staff are friendly, but their cleaning process does nothing to please a customer. They don't change the sheets every day, they don't clean the bathrooms every day and they don't wipe any surfaces. They basically make the beds and change the towels. We had to ask them to vacuum the floor.
The big shocker to me was to find a huge cockroach in the room which by the way was not mentioned to my wife and children. There was another cockroach in the hallway that stayed on the floor for three days before someone decided to remove it.
Our stay was supposed to be for one week but due to a medical emergency we requested an extension for five additional days and the staff were very kind to oblige. However, we needed one extra day which we requested but this time the manager decided that he is not going to accommodate us and he even threatened to kick us out into the street. During the whole fiasco, the staff were kind and polite and tried to relocate us to different rooms but the manager threatened to call the police on us.
I thought it is only fair to state the facts so you can make the decision whether to stay in this hotel or not.
I advise decision makers to change the manager at this hotel for lack of...

The room was clean. The bed was on the softer side, but comfortable. The edges of the room carpeting appeared dusty. I check the edges of carpets for a reason and have rejected hotel rooms if the edges are too dusty or contain items. I accepted the first room I was offered which faced the parking lot. There was much traffic noise from the major highway next to the hotel; however, I slept well.
The lobby and dining area is quite small. The hotel itself has been heavily used, and the walls in my room contained many1 to 2 inch dark colored circular spots. I did not complain as I assumed the hotel knew but did not care. Had I noticed them upon arrival, I would have asked for another room. The spots were too numerous to be accidental. The spots covered a section of one wall, went around the corner towards the bathroom and were even on the wall opposite of the bed like in a horror movie. This was a maintenance issue of a type I have never seen - and I travel a lot. I only mention it here so that other travelers are prepared and not caught off guard when they wake up to all those spots.
Suggest calling the hotel to determine if it has a microwave and refrigerator andif pool is open.
The staff was pleasant and the parking was plentiful. During events at the nearby convention center, this hotel may be completely booked, so reserve in advance.
I would stay here again and recommend it for all types of travelers including those with children. On the night I was there, the hotel was quiet, but I suspect that when events are taking place at the convention center, the hotel may be quite active. It is a bit more costly than expected for what it offers because it serves the nearby...
