The staff is very friendly, but, this is only a place that you want to stay for a very short period of time, meaning a couple of hours to get some sleep and move on! In room 216 where I was assigned, the TV was barely attached to the wall. It had Soo much static that you had to keep it at a low volume, not to mention the snow on the screen. The window AC unit kept the room at a comfortable level for sleeping. I had to close my eyes to the stains on the curtains that were very visible. Next to the bed that I was sleeping in (I didn't take my clothes off). Was a room size refrigerator with a microwave on top of it. I don't think that management is aware that this place is 30 years way out of date! The bathroom is the size of a closet. Literally! There is enough room in there for a toilet and a very small stand up shower that in no way could accommodate this 6'3 315 pound frame. The sink is actually located in the bedroom in a corner next to a wall safe that you will probably have to call a lock smith for if you make the mistake if using it. The pics of this place that I saw online in March must have been a concept of what someone wanted it to be and not what it actually is. Oh....the elevator. Do not plan for more than 2 people occupying it at any given time. Oversize suit cases and passengers will not work at the same time. I am not one for bashing establishments and I will always maintain that stance, but this adventure just isn't right. If you ask why I chose this place, my answer is that it is only 2 miles from the port of Miami where I will be on Saturday, August 25th on an 8 day cruise. With part of my family. I apologized to them all night for reserving this mess.

We stayed four nights at this hotel on the top floor, one of the only hotels that allowed check-ins under 21 (a lot of hotels in Miami require the age of the person checking in to be 21+, which is EXTREMELY inconvenient when you’re 20…) so for that my travel partner and I were grateful to get this place to stay. This hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from Bayside Marketplace, 4 minutes from a McDonald’s, and overall a central location for food delivery apps (disregarding delivery times). Which, additionally having a smoothie shop downstairs just next door made it much easier. (On another note, that said restaurant makes excellent burritos and delicious smoothies) For a budget hotel at 2-stars the place is very clean, however very small. Puts the real meaning of budget into real life display for sure. It served its purpose and it did it very well. I was not disappointed by the staff, I felt at ease and didn’t feel unsafe. For the most part the traffic nearby wasn’t too loud but often got a bit noisy during rush hour, it lasts between 1pm-6pm weekdays usually. The occasional honking of impatient drivers is commonplace here, but easy to slightly get used to. Overall, I think this hotel has potential but for the time being I would say it is a solid 2.5 Star Hotel. Definitely worth the convenience and stay.

This place was built in 1926 almost a 💯 years, so it has a lot of history, but they really need to upgrade the rooms....I know it is Downtown Miami but they can do better. At least your A/C can be a little bit better and more efficient and less noisy. The staff is great and it is an easy process to check in. There is no parking at the hotel but there is covered parking for 15 dollars a night across the street. The coffee shop downstairs never opened during the weekend stay.

really wanted to like this hotel. ||It promotes itself to be a modern minimalist boutique hotel.||||$275 for 1 night. When you pay $275 you expect better quality. This place was closer to a roadside motel than modern downtown hotel.||||Cons: No lamps in the room|| Wifi super slow (like dial up) or non-existent.|| TV sporadic reception. Mostly fuzz.|| AC (window based) didn't work. No freon. And filthy. Room was 80-82|| degrees, while the A/C was set to 64 for 5 hours.|| Drain in shower not properly sealed.|| Towel holder may have fallen off of wall.|| Initial room didn't have city view.|| Couldn't enjoy city view once sun came up since the AC didn't work.|| Front desk staff lacks sympathy, empathy or desire to fix problems.|| Front desk staff will blame you for short comings of facility - mostly|| because they offer no refunds. But it's not like they have to|| offer a full refund. She could have offered She could have|| offered to extend check out by 2 hours. Or offer $30 or $50 for|| my trouble. Or a $10 Starbuck's gift card. || I used their facility. I wouldn't want a full refund. But sheesh! || Act like you care that things didn't go well. Or just give me a $5|| breakfast sandwich or something. The whole avoiding a refund|| doesn't have to be so drastic that no consideration is shown for|| the inconvenience. || Room service provided by another party was closed at 0900 on|| 12/31/2021. So no breakfast.|| The A/C tech showed up at 0906 AM. Didn't know how to fix the A/C. || He cleaned the filter. The unit itself still dirty. And increased|| the fan speed. That isn't how these things work. Increasing the|| fan speed doesn't make the air any colder. || Another call to front desk. This time I'm asking why she's so resistant. || I'm asking about the background of the hotel. Like does she or|| her parents own it? Is that why she's so non-chalant? || At 0930 - She agrees to exchange the A/C unit. 0956 new unit works|| great. Check out is at 1100. But I needed that 1 hour of|| actually cold air.||||Pros: Location|| Eclectic decor|| City view|| ||The only decent customer service was an attempt to find me someplace to eat once it was discovered that the second party room service didn't start until noon. And after I badgered her, she had the A/C changed out. No readings on this one. But works a heck of a lot better than the last. ||-------------------------------------||Narrative:||||I arrived in the middle of the night after a very long day of international travel.||||I made a reservation for a room with view. The first room they put me in, Room 305, had a view of the side of the building of Miami-Dade College. ||After a very frustrating travel schedule, I really wanted a room with a view to unwind. I reluctantly asked to be moved.||||Room 517 - Great view. ||However, the Wi-fi either wouldn't connect or moved so slowly when connected that I thought I was using dial up. I ended up paying extra to hotspot my phone rather than even attempt to use their Wifi.||||The air conditioner didn't work. It was basically a glorified fan. The air was cool, but not cold. At 0830 when I asked for the AC to be serviced, I was told that check-out was in 2 hours. Meanwhile, the sun is blaring into the single pane windows. I had to close the curtains to abate the heat. Finally got the A/C unit exchanged at 0956. The room was 82 degrees prior.||||The girl at the front desk will find any way to spin any of your complaints or concerns to make it seem as if you're the problem. ||Her voice and cadence is also weird. It's like she's using an attempt to perky as a weapon. She has no interest in actually assisting you. Probably because they have an absolute "no refund" policy. The customer service could use some help.||||I thought the rooms were cute and eclectic. They are very minimalist. You can tell that they've tried to upgrade, but it...

Never have I been so mislead by the pictures on a website. I was looking for a simple place to stay for one night before a cruise, and needed a room with two double beds. The pictures showed a modern, clean place to stay. I was pleased with the price compared to the pictures. When I arrived, however, it was a nightmare.

First of all, there is no parking. To park your car nearby, you have to pay $20/day to park in the next-door lot that has chickens roaming around and dirty animal cages. You're not even guaranteed a spot as if you leave to drive somewhere, you'll come back and the spot will be filled.

Upon check-in, I will say that the lobby was nice and the staff was very friendly. But that's about where the positives ended. We knew we were in for something when they handed us a very old brass key. The entire building smelled like trash, and the elevator smelled the worst. The elevator itself was barely big enough for 4 people, let alone the luggage these people might have. Several times I witnessed people dragging their luggage up the stairs since they couldn't fit into the elevator with other people. It also lurched and creaked like it was about to fall apart.

When we reached our room, we were horrified to see that our door barely shut properly. And when we entered the room, we were shocked to see how small, and dirty, the room was. As four people trying to share a room, and requesting two beds, we didn't expect to see two beds that were basically the entire room, and did not have walking space between them. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel/motel, and the sink was OUTSIDE of the bathroom, about three feet from one of the beds. No counter attached, either...so no where to place toiletries or even a toothbrush. No dresser or cabinet or side table in sight; only one closet without a door. The bathroom door was about a foot away from the end of one of the beds, and the door would hit the bed when opened or closed.

When we entered the bathroom, we noticed immediately that the bathroom was extremely dirty. The shower head was falling out of the wall, and there was not a single shelf inside or near the shower; all toiletries needed during the shower had to be placed on the dirty floor while you were using them. The toilet did not flush properly either.

There was one small TV in the room, mounted on the wall, but every single channel was fuzzy. When we attempted to adjust the wires behind the TV, we were disgusted to find years worth of dust built up in the back. There was also a mini-fridge, but it was dirty and smelled horrible...no one wanted to brave putting ANYTHING inside of it.

The only positive about the room itself was the A/C...while dirty, it did its job and blew out extremely cold air. However, the placement/length of the curtains was poor and we had to choose between the A/C or closing the curtains. The window was also disgustingly dirty, and none of us wanted to get our hands or faces remotely close to check out the view.

A small annoyance, but most of the outlets were up the middle of the wall. Being that there were no dressers/nightstands/etc, if you wanted to charge your phone or plug something in, you had to either hold it, or let it dangle from the outlet.

Do NOT stay here. It is not worth the price, and there are better quality places to stay nearby if you're willing to pay a little more money. Trust me, it would...

This is a disgusting hotel and one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in. Considering what I was charged for two nights it is absolutely pitiful and I highly recommend against it and to look elsewhere. Firstly I was left sitting in the lobby for over an hour as the ridiculous policy of needing the credit card that was used to make the booking needed to be seen, considering this was booked for me online by someone else due to another hotel mix up earlier was disgraceful as was the service from the lady in regards to it. Had it not been 10pm an having been at three airports and on two planes throughout the day I would of gone elsewhere. Next is the extremely slow an dirty old elevator which will keep you waiting 5 minutes for it to come. Walking into the horrible room was like walking into a desert. The room consisted of two horribly uncomfortable single beds with no blankets just sheets, a disgusting tiny bathroom where there’s barely room to move or turn around with a sink outside next to the bed and a bathroom door that opens half way due to the bed being in the way. The only decent thing was the AC however it was extremely loud like a car engine. So you could either sleep in a humid room an sweat all night or try to sleep with the AC on an listen to it all night. Oh and it was great fun being sequestered to the room the next morning due to what I assume was a violent domestic fight a few rooms away from me with screaming and shouting the entire day with the police being called, yet once they left it continued on and I assume management did nothing as they were there all night. No care for they’re other guests. Needless to say I couldn’t sleep on my last night not only from the AC but I couldn’t wait to get the F out of there and never return. Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth of Miami. I would of preferred to sleep on the beach or the streets. Trust me stay away or find elsewhere. Don’t trust the pictures or “great” reviews. They are criminals for what they charge for rooms even the homeless would turn away. I wish I could...
