Our stay at the Courtyard Marriott Brickell didn’t get off to a great start. Despite calling ahead to inform the hotel of our delayed arrival, our reserved double room was given away, and we were placed in a king room with a couch instead. This was especially frustrating because we booked a double room to avoid sharing a bed. Initially, the compensation offered—complimentary breakfast—felt like a token gesture that didn’t quite match the inconvenience we experienced.
But here’s where things took a turn for the better—Andrew, the front desk manager, absolutely saved the day. From the moment he stepped in, he was incredibly empathetic and proactive. He listened carefully to our concerns and went above and beyond to make things right. Not only did he ensure we were properly compensated, but his genuine professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction completely turned our experience around.
Andrew is a true asset to this property. His ability to handle a tough situation with grace and ensure that we left feeling valued speaks volumes about his leadership. Thanks to Andrew’s exceptional service, we’re leaving with a much better impression of the hotel. If you’re staying here and need anything, trust that Andrew will take care of it!)
I booked a double bed room at the Courtyard Marriott Brickell back in early February. My check-in was yesterday, but due to a flight delay, we arrived later than expected. I called ahead to inform the hotel, and they assured me a note would be placed on my reservation. However, upon arrival, we were told that our room had been given away without any real explanation and that we were being placed in a king room with a couch instead.
This was incredibly frustrating, as we specifically booked a double room to avoid sharing a bed. When we originally made our reservation, the king room was priced lower than the double, yet we were told there was "no price difference" when they switched us. That might be the case now, but it wasn't when we booked--which makes this even more disappointing.
To make matters worse, no meaningful compensation was offered--just complimentary breakfast. It felt like an insult rather than a resolution. A discount or proper accommodation adjustment should have been provided upfront, instead of me having to ask to speak to a manager just to get any consideration.
Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, and as of now, we are still waiting for our room to be switched. I expected better from Marriott, especially in a busy area like Brickell. Very disappointed in how poorly this situation...
Read moreI recently was a guest staying at the Marriot Courtyard downtown Miami and unfortunately underwent various unnecessary and disturbing experiences with my sister. My sister and I are well aware and very respectful to the new Covid strict restrictions with staying in hotels. We are faithful and stay in Marriotts everywhere we travel. Unfortunately, this is by far the worst experience we have had. To start off, after my sister and I arrived after a day of traveling we walked into our room with disgustingly stained towels and a half roll of toilet paper- one being totally empty. After a long day this was the last thing we wanted to deal with. We called down and were told that we could access any needed supplies the next day between 9-4. A day went by, still no toilet paper or clean unstained towels. The following morning, again, we called down to the front desk around 10 am to request new towels, toilet paper rolls, and new sheets (due to a spillage on the bed). After being out all day and coming home we still had to call down to the front desk again, now at 6:15 , because none of the necessary supplies had been delivered. This was now the third time we had to call and it was Friday night at 6:15 is when the front desk finally provided us with necessary materials. For the mean time we used dirty sunscreen filled pool towels to shower and tissues for the bathroom.
To end it all, on our last day/night we had to request more than once (because we were not offered) to move to a new room due to safety concerns. Saturday our door was left open when returning home after a day of being out. Security was able to see that a guest room key was swiped while my sister and I were no where in the area and entered our room at 3:55 PM. My sister and I left the hotel that morning at 11 AM and did not return until 6 PM. It was not until 12:17 AM that we were approved to move to a new room due to a manager being in, which at that point was absurd. We had to at this time pack up our belongings and move, at this hour was ludicrous as it should’ve been done when we reported the incident at 6pm. To finalize, my sister and I have both spent hours on the phone trying to voice our high concerns of this stay and have sent attached pictures (to this email) as well as forwarded them to corporate. We feel like the hotel staff took no priority in making our stay safe, clean, or worth while, especially during a global wide pandemic. Lastly, all hotel cleaning staff...
