I've been coming to Iris since Oct. 2024 and every time I go its always such an amazing experience! I always schedule all my appointments over email, and they're great about giving me an estimate of how much I can expect my tattoo to be based on the size and what it is that I want. There was one time I called a few days prior to my appointment and told them I wanted to add a second tattoo to my appointment and they happily added it for me!
Starting off with the studio, I honestly have no words. The studio itself is beautiful, and I know some studios can be kind of intimidating for people who don't know what to except or for a first timer. But every time I come here, the nerves go away and the environment calms me down in a way haha. The staff at the studio are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Everyone there is so nice and sweet and always willing to help you with any questions you might have or even offering you something to drink while you wait!
As for my tattoo artist, I've gotten all my tattoo's done with Andie and I love her! I could never switch artists after doing mine with her. I usually email a reference of what I want and give them an idea of the placement. Once I get there, Andie always goes over the font and style with me to make sure I love it. She also prints out different sizes of the stencils and based on the placement, she'll give me her advice on which size stencil would look better for that area. I'm also very indecisive when it comes to placement as well. So Andie will place the stencils on the areas I'm considering to see where I like it best and help me decide which placement looks best for the specific tattoo! She also makes the tattoo itself a breeze and always asks if I need to take a break during the tattoo. We also spend the entire session talking so it definitely distracts me a bit from some of the discomfort and by the time I realize it, she's done!
As far as aftercare, they give you a little goodie bag with instructions and the cream to place on it. They're always great about explaining the after care to make sure your tattoo heals the way its supposed to. I only had an issue with one tattoo that for whatever reason, my skin on that area didn't take the ink well. I messaged Andie and the shop on IG and they did a complimentary touch up for me!
Overall I highly recommend this studio to everyone and if you're able to get an appointment with Andie, I'd highly...
Read moreI can’t even begin to tell you about the experience I had at Iris, especially during Covid. I was extremely iffy about even looking to book a tattoo appointment but I was only in Miami for a few days and absolutely fell in love with the line work done at Iris that I had to get a tattoo. Again, being that we’re in a pandemic and getting a tattoo done where you’re in such close proximity probably isn’t the best idea but I was highly impressed with how sanitary Iris was although I do wish I was told in the email to wear closed toe shoes so I didn’t have to wear the plastic over but that was the least of my worries.
Aleksandra is an incredible artist and I’m so glad I have her artwork on me now. I told her exactly what I wanted and the colours and she was able to draw it out on the spot. The process as the other reviews say is different here, you can’t communicate about a design until day of so I spent two hours sitting there for the final drawing before even starting the tattoo process but honestly looking at the outcome the two hours waiting was nothing but anticipation. Aleksandra was extremely sweet, friendly and efficient with her work that I’ve already referred a friend to go to her.
The only negative I would say , even though it’s not enough to knock down stars, was the email communication prior to the appointment. I could not get a response back quickly and I ended up insta messaging the shop and several tattoo artists to even get a response. My friend is having the same issue at the moment, fortunately for her she isn’t in a time crunch like me but it isn’t the best first look when you can’t get an email communication back in a timely manner. But this of course does not change the tattoo and the experience whatsoever, I would still 100% recommend iris to anyone going to Miami and I will for sure go back when I am...
Read moreI have nothing to say regarding the staff, who were kind and understanding towards me. However, when I booked the appointment and paid a $100 deposit, I was more than sure that the tattoo artist would be able to accurately interpret the image I had sent several weeks prior. When I arrived, as you can see from the images, the picture I had sent and the artist's drawing did not match my requirements. After about an hour and several attempts, unfortunately, the design remained completely different from the original and far from my needs. For this reason, despite the tattoo being in memory of my deceased dog, and despite the tattoo artist being unable to interpret and create a design similar to the one I sent, they still kept the $100 deposit for the artist's lost time. And for my time wasted?
For this reason, I decided not to return because I found the service to be unprofessional. If an artist is unable to interpret or replicate a design, the time is lost for both parties, and for the client, it is also a financial loss. I don't want to generalize, as this studio surely has talented and professional artists, but this design does not live up to the standards of a studio like this, especially considering the prices they charge. I strongly advise against choosing Maria as a tattoo artist.
Since I can't respond to your review, I'm modifying my initial one and attaching photos as proof. The artist Maria took only an hour ( 4.30 to 5.30 ) to make three sketches, which were almost identical, with just a couple of additional details. I believe that a tattoo studio should understand what type of artist is most suitable for the design sent weeks in advance, to avoid wasting both the client's and the...
