The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the food was delicious and the decor is beautiful. However, the service was awful to the point we will not return here. I 1000% do not recommend coming here with a large group. The restaurant was not full but they were still not able to manage a group of 14. The updtairs AC does not work well and was hot. They were completely disorganized and seemed incompetent. To start it took 30 minutes to order drinks. The waiter could not properly explain the drink menu and made it even more confusing. The do not have a full bar but offer "pre-mixed cocktails". His explanation was they are wine based but the menu clearly included spirits such as tequila, rum and vodka. We risked it and ordered anyway, and boy was that a mistake. My caipiroska tasted like lemonade and most of the cocktails went unfinished. My recommendation don't order them as your will be disappointed. To make matters worse it took over 40 minutes to deliver them to the table. We ordered bottles of wine which took just as long. We had to request a bucket of ice to keep it cold since the simply left the bottle on the table. Simple things such as refilling water, bring ice and clearing plates required getting up to speak with the manager and even then service only marginally improved. The food even though it was ordered together was not brought to the table together. Main plates came without rice or Naan and it took another 30 minutes to correct. They kept getting tables confused and brought out incorrect dishes. In an attempt to provide service recovery they provided free dessert which was just ok. I would have much rather have received better service. Closing out was another ordeal. While I appreciate they tried to split check (not my idea) they struggled to use the POS and took another 20 minutes and could only do 4 at a time. 20% tip is already included but in my opinion it was not earned or deserved.

My advice to management - improve your processes. If you don't know how to properly split check require 1 person to pay or limit the number of check. Spend more time training your staff or hire better people.

This is truly a shame because the food with better service has the potential to be a great dining experience and hope they can fix...

Went to dine on 1.2.2025 at 9pm and sat upstarts, I was served by the female server. I had heard such beautiful things about this place and I was extremely disappointed by the horrible service we received. First they said the upstarts was full and we said we would wait then all of a sudden it was available and when we got upstarts there were 4 tables available and fully set…. We are seating down, me and my friend are dying of thirst 10 minutes go by and we had to flag down the server for water, another 10 minutes go by and we can see the server standing staring at us but no water in sight (super strange) When she approaches us she tells us that the kitchen will be closing soon but the process for us sitting down and getting water took a good 30 minutes, she wasn’t around for us to make questions and she seemed bothered. It was just a horrible first impression that completely tainted our experience from the beginning we just felt horrible like they wanted us to leave but we were so hungry. Food finally comes, I asked her for yogurt and more of the chutney (a chutney it’s just a sauce btw nothing that needs preparation, same as the yogurt) that came on one of the plates and she told me the kitchen was already closed as she was dropping our food, but then 5-10 minutes later I see her coming with a tray full of food for a table across us. Once again weird, I had to ask the other gentleman server that was in the section for the stuff I needed and somehow he was able to get it but according to her the kitchen was closed. To add into the already horrible experience the food was just spicy, there was no flavor and then spicy it was just very disappointing all throughout. I spoke to the manager he apologized and he said he was going to take care of stuff off the bill for us, I never asked for that but he mentioned it and OFFERED . I was just extremely upset about how they were treating us, in the end he didn’t take care of anything and that’s fine but we will definitely never be coming back. You want an exceptional Indian dinning spot ? Please...

This place has potential but there are issues it needs to address. First off, all the reviews here mention how poor the service is. The restaurant has been open for a while now and you would think with the reviews/feedback, they would be making progress, but unfortunately no. When we arrived there, the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full and there were plenty of servers walking around. We ordered an appetizer, 2 curries, a rice, a naan and two drinks. First of all, they didn't even bring over or offer water. There was no drinks menu (I know they don't serve alcohol but no soft drinks menu either) so we saw people having coke so ordered that. The main dishes arrived in about 10 minutes but the appetizer had never arrived. They went to try and figure out what happened and said there was a mistake and asked whether we still wanted it. We were hungry so we said yes but getting the appetizer after the main dishes is annoying. Secondly, a little while into the dinner, my husband ordered another drink. It never arrived. The food portions are extremely small. Like literally the size of my palm. The flavor was pretty good so that's the plus but the size for $18 each is robbery. What's more is, they charge extra for plain rice. When you have curry dishes priced at $18+, like every Indian restaurant in the world, they should serve rice with it for free. The rice we received was super cold and very flavorless. The naan itself was wafer thin and cold, too. The worst part is they add automatic gratuity of 20% (and we were only 2 people). For such poor service that's pretty audacious. Overall, decent curry, poor service, pretty tacky and blah ambiance, lack of alcohol license is a negative, overpriced for the portion size...

Worst Service, Tasteless Food & Hidden Charges 👉 If you value good food, fair service, and honest practices, avoid this place. Heading out of Miami to catch a flight, we stopped at Rishtedar in Wynwood for lunch — easily the worst Indian food experience I’ve had in the U.S. Service was uninterested from the start. No greeting when we walked in, and when the server finally appeared, she strolled over slowly with no effort to attend to us. Even when we pointed to a table, she just gave a dismissive look and said nothing. The restaurant was almost empty, yet it still took 10 minutes just to get water. We ordered paneer tikka masala curry, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. What arrived was nowhere close to paneer tikka — just orange-colored paneer dropped into raw onion–tomato gravy, uncooked and flavorless, with barely a cup of quantity. The naan and kulcha were undercooked, tasted pre-made, and had no flavor. If food feels inedible even when you’re hungry and pressed for time, that says everything. The billing experience made things worse. They slipped in a 3% credit card fee without saying a word or posting it anywhere. Every other restaurant that charges this makes it clear upfront and displays it in multiple places — here, nothing. When I asked, the server brushed it off saying, “it’s written on the bill, it’s your fault.” On top of that, they include an automatic 18% tip (despite terrible service), and their “free gulab jamun with lunch” promo had hidden conditions not displayed anywhere. Between the rude service, uncooked food, tiny portions, hidden fees, and refusal to take responsibility, this place was overpriced and completely disappointing.
