The staff ability to hold reservations and their treatment to repeated customers who pay cash (and tip well!) leaves much to be desired. Today, 4/23/2021, I called the restaurant at 11:50 am and reserved a specific table for 6:00 pm of the same day. They confirmed the reservation for said table.
Upon arriving at the restaurant at 6:00 pm, the table I reserved 5 hours and 10 minutes earlier was occupied. One staff, as opposed to be apologetic for the situation, nonchalantly shook in his hand in direction to another table and told us to sit there, adding that he could not ask the other people who were occupying the table I reserved several hours earlier to change tables. This showed poor customer service skills and sensitivity to the customer.
Their excuse was that the individuals occupying the table I had reserved had been there since 11ish am that morning. This is an invalid reason or excuse that seems to show either or both of the following:
(1) Staff cannot be trusted to hold your reservations, even when you make a reservation five hours earlier and the reservation is confirmed by them. They are not trustworthy.
(2) Staff does not treat all customers equally and gives preferential treatment to certain clients. It is worth noting in the past I have not been able to sit in the table of my preference because either the table was already reserved, or it was occupied. I have understood this and sat in a different table. However, when you reserved a table 5 hours and 10 minutes earlier and the staff does not respect your reservation but makes you respect others, you are not being treated equally.
Do not come here. There is no guarantee they will hold your reservation or treat you equally to...
Read moreVisited this restaurant over the weekend… twice! This place is, in my experience, the most authentic Spanish restaurant in South Florida in recent memory and perhaps one of the best Spanish restaurants this side of the Atlantic. Those who are intimately familiar with Spanish cuisine, especially that of Galicia, will enjoy the caldo Gallego. Seriously folks, this is the real thing! Not the white bean “potage” you may find in other places. The lubina a la sal was outstanding, so were the pulpo a la gallega and the pimientos de piquillos rellenos de bacalao; roasted peppers filled with a codfish cream. Special order? Not a problem. I asked for a tortilla de Betanzos, an item not on the menu which is a simple tortilla made with sliced potatoes and onions, but you really have to know how to cook it to leave the very soft center this omelet is famous for. The chef delivered it with flying colors!
Extensive wine list, great deserts. Top all this with the excellent personal service provided by Jorge, and Andres, the absolutely outstanding chef who graciously visited us at the table, and you have a place I intend to visit...
Read moreBe very careful and check the account carefully, last week 6 people went to celebrate a family member's birthday and we divided the account by 5 and between one thing or another we did not check the account which seemed quite high to us and that was when I arrived At my house I realized that they put 4 extra bottles of wine with the price of $70.00 each and that adding the tip, the total that was stolen from our account was $360.00!!! It was our fault for not looking at the bill at the time but it cannot be that one goes out to a restaurant that is supposed to be good but the lack of seriousness and honesty ends up being the lowest there can be in a restaurant, it cannot be that They steal it like that from one and if anyone has a doubt, I have the invoice and they were so stupid that the bottles of wine they gave us were not even the ones we really drank!! Be very careful, these people do not have the slightest respect...
