Super 8 by Wyndham Michigan City — Hotel in Michigan City

If I could rate it a Zero I would. Breakfast not much offered. No juice. Coffee and a gallon of 2% milk you pour into your own cup (or if they provide you with one). Generic brand cereal, waffle maker but they had no syrup. Cinnamon rolls individual per package and bread. Nothing else served. Bedroom not entirely clean. Bathroom had red stains on countertop,lamp fixtures had burnt marks on them and two lamps didn't work. Bed was ok clean sheets. There were two chairs both had white stains on outer side of seats. Complained clerk did nothing. Stayed one night and several hours later after checking out I'm charged an extra $150. Manager Hitesh Patel and his employees are rude and Patel is disrespectful and a bigot. They claim I was smoking (don't smoke) and that i had many complaints and the manager himself said they ramble through my garbage bags after leaving and found evidence??? Multiple signs that read do not smoke and you would be charged and if found smoking in property you'll be remove. When we first walked in, we were greeted by the smell of rotten seafood or similar. The smell almost knocked you off your feet.|For a family of four, we only received three towels.|When I asked for more towels, I was informed only the housekeeper had a key to the linen room, and the front desk was unable to provide fresh towels. Thankfully, there was a Walmart not too far away, so I bought some towels. I understand that in the Wyndham family of hotels, the Super 8 is not the flagship. However, I do believe the hotel shouldn’t stink and the front desk should be able to provide fresh towels. Arrived at 1130pm on July 2nd 2016 to find our hotel across the street had a fire and was closed. After explaining to the attendant ( which is a very polite word for this person) she stated very abruptly " that would be $250.00 for the night! " We had driven 8 hrs with small children and nothing phased this person! Rude and hateful! When I asked if they accepted a military rate she said with much disdain " NO, not on a holiday weekend! " And this was Independence Day weekend! How ironic! Had to drive another hour and a half to find a hotel with availability! After this experience I will never stay at a Super 8 hotel !
