very pregnant customer here Don’t expect the young guys working at the Michigan City Menards to help you. Do not ask where the other sizes of Plywood are and don’t expect them to help you with getting the plywood onto a carrier to walk up to the register, and then when the plywood doesn’t fit in your vehicle, definitely don’t ask them to hold what you paid for so you can get another vehicle. They will look at each other as if you are speaking in tongues at that point. Mind you, the plywood I needed was a 4x4 particleboard that was located literally on the floor. That I, a 37 week pregnant woman, had to get off the floor and onto a gurney thing to push to the register. Lucky for me I’m self-sufficient but the kid who “helped” me, didn’t know what he was looking for and when another customer came up to us and asked ME where something walnut thing was, the kid left to go help the guy because I said, “oh no it’s okay I can do this myself” again, very clearly pregnant here… very disappointing. BUT I WILL SAY MOLIENA AT THE SERVICE DESK WAS A DOLL AND SHE HELPED ME. When I went inside to talk to someone about coming back with a bigger truck, she was so patient with me, and I was getting very emotional about how insufficient these boys were. When I got back to Menards with a bigger truck, Moliena stopped what she was doing and came with me outside to load the pieces, even though I brought my dad and he could have done it himself, she adamantly wanted to help. I appreciate her very much. The boys? Not even going to glance their way. They should do better. I almost never want to go into this...

I bought like seven 2 packs of light bulbs, some wire connectors, and a handful of light sockets, so was surprised when my total was $159. I tried to look over the items listed on my screen but they disappeared as soon as I was done bagging my items, and the checker treated me like I’d just framed her for murder when I communicated that the total felt high. She has been chit chatting with the off duty Menards employee in line behind me, who must have been in line to purchase a tool necessary to diffuse a bomb, because the checker threw up her hands in complete and total exasperation when I repeated “that feels high”a couple more times and flailed around for a solution. I tried to look at her screen to scan through my items but she wasn’t having it, and I’m assuming it’s because the bomb the other lady was trying to diffuse was strapped to her, because there’s no other explanation for her near-rage reaction. I’m wondering if Menards has us bag our own items so we can’t keep track of the prices of our purchases, and they can skim off the top to afford to employ people with bomb diffusion skills? Maybe the lady checking me out was Mrs. John Menard Jr, and she was furious I’d caught on to their secret? Whatever the case, I’ll keep shopping here because my choices in this town are limited, but someone should speak to that woman because she really...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Talk about a business that doesn't care about its customers. I parked about 100 yards from the entrance so I could park in the shade because I had my dog with me and they won't allow dogs in, as Lowe's gladly does. I get to the entrance of the garden center and there is a sign on the door to use the main entrance. So I walk another 100 yards to that entrance. Now I have to walk back the 100 yards to the garden center. I get my Weed b Gone and go to the checkout. The lady near the counter says she can't ring me up, and I can't exit there. I have to go to the main check out area because she is not a cashier. So I go all the way back to the main check out, that's right about 100 yards. Then I mention to the cashier there that I need to talk to someone about their garden entrance policy. She says, "it won't make any difference". She was right. After waiting for Nathan, them Store Manager. I explain to him the situation. He says in essence, it is not cost effective for them to have two people at the garden center at this time because they study the trends and they can't check anyone out with fewer than two people on hand. He started to say "what you could do".... I cut him off and said, I know what I CAN do, I can go to LOWE"S and I will. I walked the 200 yards back to my car and will never return to Menards again in my life. They care only about their profits and one one bit about their customers. I spent hundreds of dollars at that store this summer....
