So my husband and I were here about a year or 2 ago and decided not to go back for awhile well it's March 2016 and they are still NOT good at all had a bad experience once again! It's a Saturday night so I know it's hectic for any restaurant but the hostess was beyond rude, ignoring me while I was right in front of her face being rude to the waitresses that she was talking to and didn't even smile. I understand if you had a bad day but you work with public try to fake it or at least don't ignore me. Anyways we get seated and we order our food and our waitress was nice but kept giving us the food from another table I was like I didn't order this she was like oh my bad. Kinda funny but a little concerning. She also kept interrupting us every time I tried to say something it was crazy. I ordered a 6oz filet minion medium rare with mashed potatoes fried shrimp and veggie of the day. My hubby ordered a t bone medium with fries and veggies. Well we got our hot bread this time a year ago that didn't happen so that was nice. Well then all of our food came and my husbands was medium rare and mine was medium ( so cooked wrong) well then I tried my steak anyways and I realized I would never go back because I am pretty sure if Texas tried that filet they would punch them in the face it was dry, tasteless no seasoning and just tasted funny. After that I was like I will just eat my sides well that wasn't any better mashed that was bad it wasn't mashed, dry and tasteless like no seasoning. My veggies had no seasoning but ate it anyways and my shrimp was good but 1/2 of my dinner was gross. Well at least my husband had a pretty good tbone nothing special but good and he liked his steak fries oh but come to find out he never got his veggies. Must have went to another table. Yeah not going back my husband said is tbone was good but not enough to go back and said it's crossed off we are NEVER going again! Not worth the...
Read moreWent here on Monday for a rather late dinner we had been out celebrating our anniversary all day so we popped in to have a late dinner. It was pretty empty and our server Danielle (middle aged woman) spent at least 10 to 15 minutes having a private chit chat with a young family. They looked like they knew each other. It seemed like a meeting between old friends, meanwhile we are sitting there hungry and feeling ignored. Suddenly a nice young very attentive African American man noticed this and jumped into action to get us our drinks and take our orders. She remained oblivious to us until she saw someone else had brought us our drinks and food and THEN she wanted to see if we were ok or if we wanted peanuts! Well yeah thanks to him lady! She provided the check with her name on it and we usually tip well, but this time we didn’t. We wished we could have given him the tip instead because he deserved it. She should have her job but she should do her job too. I just read lowest reviews and it seems like this server has a bit of a track record going back a couple years …she’s still there but hasn’t improved. She should work yes everyone needs to live, but I guess you just can’t change people if they are set in their ways. Hope the review serves as fair warning… if you go there and she sits you down and takes a drink order before she walks away somehow let her know that you don’t have all day to get your order taken or your meal served. She will go off on a tangent somewhere else and walk by you or chat near you as if she never saw you before. Tell her no dilly dallying...
Read moreOverall a clean restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and overall prompt. There's the one star. Upon arrival the hostess staff was taking to someone in the kitchen and a table they just seated. The female in the kitchen hanging though the food staging window just couldn't seem to let it go, as it appeared to be interrupting her cell phone break. I ordered steak, which came with soup. The "soup" was supposed to be chicken dumpling. What arrived smelled like there might be something chicken in there. My spoon sat firmly on the top....soup isn't supposed to be firm, is it? First time in my life I've ever been served soup so thick, you could've poured it onto a plate, and cut it with a fork and knife. I had been on the road for HOURS before I arrived here, so, I ate this..... soup? Next, my steak arrived. Steak was actually cooked well, so, kudos there. Not sure if in an area of the kitchen they were also preparing salt licks for deer, because if you put this thing on a stick and hung it from a tree, deer would flock to this from hundreds of miles away. I'm not sure if the recipe calls for a 1 ounce of seasoning per 4 ounces of steak, but this thing was literally grainy from all of the salt, pepper, etc. A few bites in and my mouth was literally burning from the massive amounts of salt, pepper, and whatever else. Not sure where the cook staff received training, but I wouldn't serve this stuff to my enemy being held in a P.O.W. camp. I'll never stop at a Texas...
