Do not stay at the Rodeway Inn in Milpitas, CA.||||Check-in process was a problem. We arrived only to be informed that there is a “mandatory” deposit. This deposit is not mentioned anywhere on the website or within the booking details. So we complied and let these scumbags charge not only our room charge, but an extra $96 on top of that for no reason. They were very pushy and rude about it. The man at check-in for some stupid reason changed the reservation from my name to my boyfriend’s name so I never got my Choice Hotels loyalty points or the advertised rewards for my stay.||||The room itself is not great.||||The mattress is fine but the pillows were cheap with no support whatsoever. They even covered the mattress with a rug to make it look as if there is a comforter on it. We noticed a lot of debris and dust underneath the bed.||||The bathroom makes no sense. There is NO DRAIN on the bathroom floor so when you take a shower or wash your face the floor gets all soaked and you just have to deal with a bunch of water pooling around. What a very thoughtless design.||||The walls are paper thin. We could hear the conversation in the laundry room next door early morning as well as others conversing outside nearby and in the next door rooms. Very unpleasant for sleeping.||||There is some sort of strange monitoring device in the room that I felt was suspicious. It kept making noise all night so we couldn’t get a good rest without using the fan to try and block it out.||||Breakfast is low-effort and doesn’t count as a real meal. Absolutely nothing hot was served. Just some mandarins, granola, gross coffee, and watery orange juice. They shouldn’t call this breakfast. Other hotels I have stayed that are under Choice Hotels typically have FOOD such as eggs, waffles, etc.||||Everything about our stay here was just subpar.||||Here’s the most annoying part: I checked out on May 30th 2024. Upon check-out we asked the front desk if we will be getting our $96 deposit immediately. They said within “5 to 7 business days”.||||Today is June 22 2024 and these uneducated, visa-scamming scumbags refuse to release the pending $96 charge from my boyfriend’s card. It has been a total headache going back-and-fourth with the Choice customer service line and this terrible property. Choice Hotels customer service claims they “don’t see” the $96 charge made by this hotel on May 28th 2024. Well, it is there, and it is stuck as a pending charge on the card. There is nothing the bank can do about it as the transaction is not posted. When I was on the line with Choice customer service even they had difficulty getting ahold of the “manager” Pavash Patel.||||It’s clear that this property operates a scam to get more of people’s hard-earned money that the staff of this motel DO NOT deserve and did not even work for.||||I will never stay at any “Rodeway Inn” or subsidiary of Choice Hotels again after this experience. I hope people take my word in this review and chose to stay somewhere else as well. Otherwise, guests will learn the hard way that this...
Read moreI am 100% dissatisfied with the customer service (front desk personnel) for this hotel "Rodeway Inn". I reached out this morning regarding the deposit of $100 that is still pending on my account. I checked out a week ago on 6/7 and checked in on 6/6. Today is 6/14. Whether you pay a cash deposit or not, I feel that as quickly as the funds are removed from your card, is how quickly they can be put back in. I've already contacted my bank and was advised that the funds need to be released by the hotel which is correct. The lack of customer service and professionalism that I experienced this morning was disappointing. Not only was I speaking to the same person that checked me in and I spoke to earlier in the week (who advised that the funds were already released by the hotel), he was being rude on top of it all. It has been 7 business days since check out and I want my funds released. This is the only transaction still pending from my transactions since last week. I deal with these types of transactions in my line of work everyday and know exactly how they work. Would I stay here again???? Absolutely not!!!!! I'm a firm believer in great customer service and unfortunately, I did not experience that at this hotel. The cost was great but without the right people to back it and if I'm not treated in a respectful manner, I will not give my money to any business. I can tolerate a lot but bad customer service is not one of them. He advised me to call back at 9am today to speak to the manager. When I asked for a name, he literally refused to provide it. Asking me why I need a name?!? Red Flag!!!!!! There should never be an issue with someone providing their name or managers name at a business. Before I checked out, it was like pulling teeth trying to get a receipt. Luckily, I have my bank transactions and would not leave without a printed receipt (like any other hotel would provide). There was even an excuse for that. I will be calling them back at 9am PST this morning to speak to the "manager" named "Bobby" according to the person I with this morning. It will probably end up being the same person that I already spoke to. I'm getting serious shady vibes from this hotel and I really hope this gets resolved...
Read moreI booked this room through Capital One’s travel portal and received an email confirmation stating free cancellation if I canceled before 3:53PM (booked at 7:55AM). After a couple hours, at 10:02AM, I decided I wanted to cancel because of the bad reviews I was reading. I called Capital One and they tried to reason with the property management but the property management was strict on no refunds. At 10:25AM I called property management myself and they abruptly interrupted me to say “no refunds”…even though on other sites like Booking.com offers free 24 hour cancellation on the exact motel room. I decided to just give it a chance. Today was my check in. The guy at the service desk was polite and did not require a security deposit, not sure about how consistent that is, but he was the only decent part about this whole experience. The room was dirty from weird stains and splatters on the wall, ominous stains on the couch and desk chair, peeling table, dirty shower, the list goes on. After around 20 minutes of contemplating, I decided to just return my keys and leave. The guy was nice to offer a new room, but based on other reviews and the vibe of the motel, I didn’t want to waste my time or his. Wish I could just get my money back. Do not recommend staying here if you care about...
