The G. — Restaurant in Milpitas

Full disclosure: My uncle owns the pool table and jukebox at this bar.

I went this past Wednesday (4/27/22) for the first time with my uncle. He had to recover the pool table, and I was there to help him do so (it's a two-person job).

We got there too early and so had breakfast at the nearby Black Bear Diner (also another first for me). When we finished, the owner's husband, Carlos, was there and let us in. By the time the bar had officially opened, there were people ready to come in.

About an hour or so after we arrived, the owner, Courtney, showed up. We'd never met before, but let me tell you--she's a sweetheart. She made two cocktails for me that I'd never had before, and, wow, were they good. That girl can whip together some mean drinks!

The G is a nice bar. I don't really frequent bars, so I can't say whether it's typical or not, but I do know Courtney and Carlos are great people and are certain to make the atmosphere festive and fun. I also can't say if they're frequently in their bar or just on certain days, but I'd be willing to bet they hire bartenders who share their festive philosophy.

What I'm trying to say is, if you're in the area, please stop in. Grab a drink, shoot some pool, play some tunes, and watch the game (there are five large flat screens hanging above the bar). I'm sure you'll have...

This bar has been a Milpitas staple for many years and I believe was recently purchased and is under New Management. I like what the new management is doing with the place as it looks very well kept and improved since last I had been here. In particular, there bar table which I mean to be the pool table, is in very good condition as of this review. And at a dollar a game is a great value and a massive bonus to the $5 beers you can have at happy hour. The bartender is polite and the venue is nice in a small town sort of way. The patronage is full of character but is in generally good spirit and camaraderie. I expect that the new management will continue to do improvements and will maintain the place well as she seems very sincere about his establishment and I look forward to seeing how this place continues to...
