Booked for a wedding nearby. There were 4 of us, which took up the entire hotel. That's right, only 4 rooms. Historic building with lots of original walls and other gems. ||It's one of the strangest places I stayed in. There is no lobby. You get an email the day of your arrival that gives you the code to the key pad that opens to a big flight of stairs to the rooms. The hotel doesn't have an elevator. That was difficult for me since I have a bad back and stairs are difficult. ||We arrived a day earlier than everyone else. The hotels didn't have us booked. We called a referenced number and reached the cleaning person. She drove right over from her home and let us in. It was a long day of traveling so that was a bummer that we were delayed. But, we were quickly let in. I looked at my email and it did say the next day as arriving. However, never looked at the email closely so I wasn't aware of the mistake. The mgr didn't charge me for the night in the end. She also let us leave a day early as the rest of our parties were moving to Atlanta.||Each room is different and it was cool to see the different sizes, and furnishings. My room was a suite. The bed was comfortable. My daughter slept on the pull out couch in the living area. The room price was reasonable. ||A couple of recommendations to the hotel is to label the dispenser which was soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The dispenser is cool, but hard to you tell which is which. They were all green. Another issues is the very small elevated step into the bathroom, I almost fell a couple of times. ||The town of Munroe is adorable. Didn't see much of the town other than Broad street. i suspect there isn't much more to see other than on Broad Street. Some cute boutiques, coffee...
Read moreMy wife and I booked the Walton Suite to stay the night before and night of our wedding held in the Wayfarer Music Hall. The room was so tidy with lots of space for getting ready. The Walton is particular a good room because it has a door that leads right into the community kitchenette where there’s a full size fridge, sink, and microwave. This was really helpful when filling vases for bouquets. The living room had excellent lighting for photos and provided a good amount of space for gift exchanges and hanging out. There was plenty of extra bedding (there’s a pullout sofa bed), good airflow thanks to ceiling fans, and a very helpful full length mirror. 10 out of 10. Due to the proximity to the event space, it was pretty noisy up until 11pmish because another wedding was going on. This is totally understandable and didn’t bother us but rather just a note for anyone who has sleep struggles. It was fun watching their send off from our window, knowing we would be next! While parking is trickier being in the downtown scene, the proximity to all kinds of dining, treats, shopping, and entertainment makes up for it. We were here Saturday through Sunday night on a UGA home game weekend while there was also a wedding booked before us, and it still wasn’t too crazy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will happily...
Read moreMy bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before my wedding in the Walton Suite and it was beautiful! The bed was huge and soft, there were plenty of pillows, towels and plenty of space. Our suite had a large bedroom and a living room space with a pullout sofa the bathroom pretty large as well and had a jet tub. It's a small hotel with a door that you'd easily miss when driving past, but once you find it and make your way inside, you'll fall in love. It's rustic/classic southern decor is beautiful. It's quiet inside and a small kitchen area with a large refrigerator. I was a bit worried about the public kitchen, but everyone there was respectful of each other's space and belongings so it was fine. Be advised that there is a music hall below the hotel and their music would sometimes come through the floor, but it was usually quiet around 10:45-11 pm. After the wedding, my husband and I came back to the hotel and he loved it as well. I worked with Christa in the days leading up to the wedding. She was nice, professional, and worked directly with me to make sure that everything was perfect during our stay. It's pricey but worth it for the look, feel, and quality of the hotel. We'll...
