Short version: Long wait to be served after being seated - almost 20 minutes with nothing from any employees. Asked which side I wanted with my meal, only brought the side with no meal. Service needs a lot of training. Longer version: After seeing what others have written in their reviews, I now know that the experience I had on Saturday during lunch was not a fluke. The place looks great, and the food is decent, but the service is undeniably not trained for the service industry. If you've worked in food service and/or retail, then you should have been trained to greet customers inside of your business, especially if they like they have not been helped. My friends and I went in around lunch after our Rugged Maniac race, and were pretty hungry. We walked in and were seated quickly in the front room of the restaurant. We then waited about 25 minutes before any server came to take our drink order. Keep in mind, we are at the front of the building, right by the small bar area, where several employees were just hanging out and chatting. While placing our drink order, we made sure to go ahead and place our food orders as well, because we did not want to sit around another 20 minutes without any help. I ordered a Mac'n'cheese Wrap with Pulled Pork, and the waitress asked what side I would like, to which I responded, I'll have the brunswick stew. Everything seems to be going smoothly. About 10 minutes go by and someone brings out our food. My friends got what they had ordered, but all that I received was a cup of brunswick stew. 5 minutes go by before our server comes back by ro check on us, and asks "How is everything?" We all mention that I do not yet have the meal that I ordered. Our server looks confused, and rushes away typing on the device that she used to take our order on. This gave us a clue that maybe she did not put the order in correctly. 5 or so more minutes pass and she comes back, says "Oh you still don't have your food?" She then blames it all on the kitchen. After another 10 minutes, my food comes out, and they did not charge me for the meal. This review is at 2 stars because the food was alright, and I think this place has a lot of potential. Staff just needs to be trained better, and probably should not hangout in the open when customers have clearly not been helped. I do not have anything against our server, she was really nice and friendly, but the experience was just miserable.

Other reviews were spot on, but we tried it ourselves and visited with an open mind and empty stomach. We were quickly greeted and sat, and it took roughly 10 minutes for someone to greet us and there were at least three people hanging around the host stand and one girl who walked by us at least 4 times. A lovely lady, who was supposed to be ending her shift, asked if anyone had helped us and she apologized when she realized how long we had been waiting. She told us she may have to transfer us to another waitress. She cleared a table, forgot our drinks, and then our food arrived quickly by a food runner. The food runner brought our drinks and the waitress apologized again and said other waitresses were starting their shift. When trying the food the sides were great! We had potato salad, baked beans, Mac and Cheese. The meats were pulled bbq pork and brisket. We asked for the fatty side of the brisket. The brisket was not cooked long enough because the fat had not rendered and was a bit tough. The pork was dry. We shared our experience with the waitress and she said someone mentioned the chicken was really dry too. The portions were good for the money. The tea was really good too! Our table was near the restroom and the sand grout from the bricks was all over the ketchup bottle and napkin dispenser so it makes me believe people are not properly wiping down the area. Lastly, we took the stairs out and could see a young guy on his phone in the kitchen. I hate giving a just ok review because we want success for them.

Update #2 Unfortunately this place is clearly on the decline. Only 6 tables had people during lunch hour and it was very slow. The brisket is declining as well. I love marbled meat but I got one good piece, a hard burned end, and then a piece that was cut the wrong direction. It looked like pot roast with a huge unrendered fat cap. The table near us sent back two uncooked batches of fries. The “cook” came out to check that table. Not exactly the look of a person who cleanly handles food. Probably won’t be back. Update Came for dinner. Wasn't as good as the first time but still very good. I tried the ribs and they were burned and hard. Brisket was still pretty good. ------- We have been looking for good beef brisket since we moved here from Texas 4 years ago ... Found it! Kevin and Summer really know what they are doing. When I ordered the brisket plate with plenty of bark, Summer knew exactly what I was talking about. I hoped at that point it was gonna be good a d they did not disappoint. Mac n Cheese - my wife said it was the best she has ever eaten. Side salads - Huge! And great toppings Fried pickles are good too. We will be back and hope to use yall to cater our next church event.

They honestly do not even deserve a one star review. My family and I walked in, we were told immediately that we had to wait for a table to open up when there were only 10 people sitting down eating in the whole restaurant and there were at least 15 tables open that I counted. They told us they could not move two tables together to accommodate our party of 4 adults and 2 children. So we sat there and waited patiently. We were passed up by multiple workers until one waitress walked by, noticed us waiting and asked if we had been help. She then investigated with her other co workers on why we could not be seated and found they have a policy in place WHERE THEY CANT MOVE TABLES TOGETHER. YOU ALL WERE NOT EVEN BUSY!!! After waiting over 15-25 mins for a table to open up (while looking at 10-15 open tables right in front of us), they decided to finally move tables together to seat us. Once seated, they never came back over to us to ask us for drinks/food/etc. We were all so hungry, had been a sitting patiently and even already knew what we were going to order. 4-5 employees kept looking over at us, passing us up and not serving us. Even watched an older lady, who I assume, is the joke of a manager for this place, tell one of her employees to help us. I guess the employee gave her some excuse on why she could not help us, because SPOILER ALERT, she never helped us. 5 of them actually huddled together around the bar, which we were sitting 6 feet from. There was another customer that walked in after us and they started serving him right away. We tracked down employees on multiple occasions for help and were ultimately never helped. We all got up and walked out. On the way out one of the guys out in the barbecue pit told us have a great day. We told him we could not even get service after waiting patiently for 30minutes. All he had to say was a very insincere “I’m sorry”. Didn’t say “okay wait, don’t leave, let me make it right.” NOTHING! Great businesses, don’t let upset customers walk away without at least making an attempt to make it right. So sad the business owner paid all that money to make the place look great inside and out, just to have terrible management and employees let customers walk away. Not saying any of them are bad people, but they need some SERIOUS customer service training!!!! We left this place and went to LR Burger and had a DELICIOUS lunch!!! Funny thing is, LR Burger was busier and we still had faster/better service. Save yourself the heartache and support another local...

My experience here is so unfortunate because I wanted to like this place so much more than I ended up.

My girlfriend and I went with two friends of ours on a sort of double date. We ordered wings and loaded fries for appetizers, and brisket, burger and a pulled pork sandwich for our entrees. When we arrived we intentionally showed up when there were very few people yet.

The appetizers came in… about 20-30 minutes. It was a little long but not terrible. This was further aided by the fact that the sides were actually quite good, they had great wings and the loaded fries were nice!

Then the problems began… we would then wait for our entrees for two hours! I couldn’t even believe it. We had eaten our appetizers and were just drinking through our drinks waiting. We went through several cups of drinks and were it not for the company idk how we could’ve waited so long.

When we did finally get our food the disappointment continued. I had ordered a burger, medium rare, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mustard, mayonnaise. The burger I received was well (the waitress asked if that was okay and I just couldn’t keep waiting for another), no cheese, no lettuce, or condiments. It was just a burger with some pickles and a tomato on it. My friends got the food they wanted at least but with 2hrs of waiting I was so disappointed.

We then had to wait another 45 minutes to be able to pay due to some technical issues. At this point I was already so disappointed I just wanted to leave and couldn’t! My friends had to leave to a movie they were almost late to and my girlfriend walked over to Scoops because it was such a long wait and I had to just wait to be able to pay and leave.

Overall, I doubt I’d come back simply because a three hour experience for a burger I didn’t even order just isn’t worth it. The wings were great, the Mac and cheese was fine as well, my friends and girlfriend liked their brisket and pulled pork, but the time and burger just threw it for me. I will say that the staff themselves are an absolute delight. The waitress was very kind and you could tell they were trying their best, but a kitchen that couldn’t make me a medium rare cheeseburger after 3 hours is just… questionable and unfortunate.

Their menu is so incredible sounding too, ugh. So disappointed. Hopefully I’ll be able to update this one day when I have 3 hours to give to try again and hopefully it will be faster...
