456 Embarcadero Inn & Suites — Hotel in Morro Bay

Booked through Agoda for 3 nights back in Feb 2023. We have stayed there before and loved the quiet vibe. Unfortunetly we didn't even stay one night due to room pictures not being accurate on agoda's site. You would have thought it was agoda's mistake but they blammed the hotel. The hotel blammed Agoda. And either party would give us a full refund. We were charged for one night and both parties wouldn't credit is at all. After trying to reason with the older Asian lady at the front she wouldn't give us a contact number to discuss this with a manager. (She is the manager we later found out) We just wanted a full refund as we didn't even stay one night. We didn't even open the door to our room.

Oh and we did try to originally book straight though the hotel at the desk but the price was atleast $50 us more a night.

The big kicker wasn't that. What set off our alarm bells was when we asked for a crib for our child. We were going to be charged extra which is ok but not usually the norm in hotels but the lady would not show us the crib or verify if it was safe for our 9 month old. Some older pack and plays can be dangerous due to folding up while child is inside.

I'm not sure but I think this hotel was taken over by new management.

I hate leaving this review but I spent many hours fighting it out with Agoda due to this hotel not budging giving a full refund.

Went to the best western up the street. Ended up being cheaper. No charge for a crib. Had a great breakfast included and a wine and cheese hour later on in the day.... and we could hear the sealions from our room. Also we were offered a significant discount to stay...

We loved LOVED our experience at 456 in Morro Bay. It's a wonderful getaway for us that's not too far from home.

We stayed in the family suite which is said to be the best room they have. It is a beautiful room and the staff was more than accommodating and kind when we checked late. There was a mishap and damage was made to a chair in the living room. I gladly let them know upon check out that an incident occurred and the receptionist kindly told me she would call me with more information after they assess the damage to the chair to see if it could be patched. Knowing the damage was caused by my family, I have no issues paying for the chair. However, I have called at least eight times since we left to inquire about the $600 charge to my debit card. I am a single mom who splurged for her kids for one night and now I cannot even get a courtesy call explaining how one simple chair cost $600, which is what I just paid for an entire couch. I am incredibly disappointed at the unprofessional treatment I am now getting after check out. Maybe I should not have been honest about the damage.
