Nestled in the heart of the Embarcadero, Blue Sky Bistro is a brunch oasis offering a delightful blend of scenic views, delectable cuisine, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The restaurant's prime location provides stunning vistas of Morro Bay from both the dine-in patio and the cozy interior. What sets Blue Sky Bistro apart is its thoughtful design – plexiglass panels adorn the alfresco dining area, offering protection from the wind without compromising the panoramic views. Opting for a traditional two-egg breakfast with sourdough toast, I was pleasantly surprised by the impeccable execution of the country potatoes – golden, buttery, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of flavors. Meanwhile, my partner savored the Sailors Bay Benedict, featuring succulent crab that stole the show. Blue Sky Bistro stands out as one of the few spots on the Embarcadero that opens early and offers a full breakfast menu, making it a coveted destination for early risers and brunch enthusiasts alike. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. To top it off, the coffee was exceptional, providing the perfect accompaniment to our morning feast. And for our furry friends, the dog-friendly patio was a welcome touch, allowing us to enjoy our meal in the company of our beloved pets. Blue Sky Bistro offers a brunch experience that ticks all the boxes – breathtaking views, delicious food, friendly service, and pet-friendly ambiance. Whether you're seeking a leisurely brunch or a quick bite before exploring the Embarcadero, this charming bistro is sure to delight.

I wish I took pictures of my food.... The cook was the kind of person that really takes his job seriously with love and care. Where did you find this guy??? I noticed something special about this restraunt as I waited for my breakfast this morning. People were wishing each other to have a blessed day as they left. I could tell right away that the food wasn't being prepared for me per se, but it was being prepared as a means of servanhood. Let me explain.. When a customer comes into a restraunt, they are placing their trust in the establishment that the meal would be prepared as a means of stewardship. The customer comes in hoping to be treated to a great meal for the price and thats not often the result. Often times, its just mediocre. Not here!!! Everything is so well made that I could tell that customers mattered. I don't care if you're a person of faith, but I am. I can tell when people are working "as for the Lord".... it was apparent this morning. Thank you for a great smoked salmon on bagels and a breakfast burrito for my wife. You did great!

We had dinner with another couple and while our choices were done very well, they were not happy with theirs. I had chips with guacamole and salsa for the table. The salsa was some of the best I have had recently and the guacamole was spicy and very good. I also had the Baja tacos, which could have used a little more fish but the fish was cooked very well. My husband had chicken tortilla soup which was excellent. Our friend had the lobster bisque with shrimp and said she would only give it a 6/10. Her husband had a burger and the country potatoes which he seemed to enjoy. They were unable to split the ticket which I have heard from others as well. My friend had ordered a glass of the house red and it was not good. They did replace it after they opened a new bottle and she said it was much better. The whole experience was okay but it seemed a little pricey. It may be something we try again though for breakfast or lunch.

I had ordered the salad and asked if what I ordered had contained onions since I have an allergy and was told that there are no onions and then I asked to add the tuna to the salad and again was not told of it containing onions. Once the food arrived I saw the tuna mixed with onions so I just ate around the tuna in the salad. The waitress did ask if things were ok and since I did not want to make a fuss given I was on holiday and wanted to enjoy my time I said it’s fine. Then when we were finished and asked for the bill she asked if I wanted to have a to go bag for my food since so little of it was eaten and I said no I can’t eat what’s left so no point in taking it away and that I had made a point beforehand to check if the food contained onions. Once I said that I cannot eat the rest because of the ingredients and that I had asked specifically about it so I was disappointed it came with onions the waitress became extremely rude. The waitress suddenly took on an aggressive demeanour towards me and whenever she walked past our table made comments such as “tuna always comes with onions” and “half our dishes contain onions” and only because numerous comments were said in a very aggressive and rude way I said well “I expected an accurate answer when I asked the question” and then she stormed off but kept coming back for the rude comments, half of them being that I am making such a fuss over nothing but I never asked for my order to change or complained I only said that I cannot eat the rest because of the ingredient I’m allergic to when I was prompted for the second time about why I didn’t eat much of the food. I said to my partner that I am on the verge of crying because I felt bullied by the staff so I did not wish to leave a tip. In the end they offered to take my food off the bill but the attitude was soo poor and as I was leaving I was yelled at. I had never experienced a time where a waitress raised their voice and had such a cold and aggressive attitude that I felt bullied. Once I left the restaurant I broke into tears so much so my mascara smudged all over. I understand mistakes can happen because we are human so I didn’t want to make a fuss… all I expected was a simple “I am so sorry I forgot the tuna also had onions and that the food was not suitable for you”...

First visit to Blue Sky Bistro in Morro Bay. Arrived just before 5pm. Only two tables taken inside. Only one waiter on the floor. Tried the nachos, lobster bisque, and Crab Louie salad. All were pretty good. The half order of nachos was easily enough for two people. Included all the standard ingredients: chips, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. I could have done without the salsa. The lobster bisque had a smooth texture with enough bits of lobster. Totally ruined by the pile of burnt croutons on top. Also, someone had a heavy hand with the sherry or it hadn't simmered long enough before serving. The Crab Louie was tasty. It's listed on the menu as Shrimp Louie but I requested a substitute for crab instead. I may not have chosen wisely. The salad was fine: fresh, tasty ingredients including shoestring carrots, red onion, hb egg, tomato wedges, mixed greens, and a tiny bit of avocado. I got the dressing on the side and it was the usual Louie dressing. All on all, a perfectly good salad, large too. The only thing I didn't care for was the crab was not in bite-sized chunks. It was a more shredded texture. Upon reflection, the shrimp might have been a better choice. I enjoyed the view of the waterfront and the rock. Might have lingered over my meal but was driven out by the two lightweights at the bar raising a ruckus. The Bistro closes early for a place serving dinner, 7pm. Open for breakfast and lunch too. Plenty of outside tables. They appear to offer a wide selection of beer and wine. Located in Marina Square with plenty of convenient...
