Wow, what an amazing place to stay in Morro Bay!!! We booked our 2 night stay here with our teenagers based on its waterfront location and fantastic customer reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. Our two teens occupied the Marine suite because they each needed their own queen bed and they were quite thrilled by their spacious waterfront accommodation! It was an impressively luxurious and large space. My husband and I occupied the Morro Rock suite which was the furthest back from the water upper unit, but still had a fantastic view of the rock. Our suite was smaller than the kids handicap accessible suite, but it was plenty spacious for us and very well appointed. I like that every suite has a fire place and a nice counter area with a fridge, microwave and sink. You can easily prepare your coffee and simple breakfast in the room and I really appreciated both the fridge and microwave which we used daily (especially during this time of Covid when the guest breakfast room is temporarily closed, understandably). Our patio had 2 chairs and a small table that we enjoyed sitting on in the evening and have a glass of wine and watch the sun set. Another option was a nice bar with 4 stools on the second level facing the water front where we could sit and have wine, or our breakfast or a take away dinner. An additional waterfront option for outside is a lovely gathering area down by the dock with several Adirondack chairs and a couple of bistro tables and chairs, but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy that area. I like the choice that fir such a small Inn, we had multiple choices for enjoying the outdoors to relax. One evening for dinner we got take away from the American Fish company (which I recommend for eating!) and used the nice bistro table with 4 chairs in the kids suite to have a lovely waterfront view for dinner yet in the comfort of our accommodation and safe from Covid exposure. I loved the VERY comfortable bed and pillows at this Inn and the shower water pressure and quick hot water were superb. All the staff who work here are so nice, genuine and welcoming, they were certainly a very positive part of our stay and are sincerely interested in their guests comfort and good experience. The owners daughter, Katie, who works also at the Estero Sports (who we rented one of their electric boats to toodle around the harbor, worth every penny!) located on the property, was also very concerned that we were happy and having a great time. The location of this Inn was also desirable being waterfront and a little at the southern end of the tiny waterfront district of Morro Bay. Within a couple minutes walk are multiple restaurants and bakeries to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our teens liked having a little independence to walk in the mornings and get cinnamon rolls or other baked goods for breakfast. Our only regret with Estero Inn is that we didn’t stay one more night, which would’ve been perfect. We can’t wait to return here and hope to before too long, it’s just such a special Inn and such a special...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel several years ago while driving Highway 1 and loved it. It was one of our favorite hotels, and we loved the location. When we returned to Morro Bay again recently, we couldn’t help but return for another night. It has only improved since then.||A little bit about the property: the Estero Inn is a small, two-story hotel with eight rooms. The location is fantastic; most shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The inn also overlooks the bay and is one of the only hotels with unobstructed water views. Just a heads up: they only have three spaces in the parking lot, but you can park on the street if it fills (and the immediate area is extremely safe). ||The staff were always friendly and accommodating. It is clear that everyone takes great pride in their work.||This time, we booked the Marine Suite on the first floor, which has two queen beds. The hotel received a renovation recently. The Marine Suite is massive and comfortable and includes so many amenities that other hotels don’t provide. For example, the room included a set of binoculars, a full bottle of dish soap, a tea kettle, bath robes, multiple types of drinking glasses, and an extremely generous amount of bath towels. Cleanliness has never been an issue here. This room was spotless. ||Ground floor rooms have privacy glass, so people walking past cannot look into your window. Second floor rooms have small balconies. ||The hotel will offer a wine room soon (it is not open yet). They have a shared seating area on the second floor to capture some of the views. The inn doesn’t provide free breakfast.||You can’t beat this small, independent hotel. We could’ve stayed there for so much longer. I would give up everything I own to ensure that all my hotel stays were as...
Read moreHonestly, we felt like we'd died and gone to heaven. The town itself is just the most idyllic place, but the hotel pushed it to being one of my favourite stops ever. Sadly we were only there a night, driving between LA and San Fran, but of our west coast trip, this was the place I fell in love with the most and would go back for much longer next time.||We had the ocean view room, which isn't actually the hotel's best room for views, but it was perfect nonetheless. We stayed in some amazing places on our trip, including the incredibly plush Fontainebleau in Vegas and fantastic Argonaut in San Fran, but this was the place for us.||The guy at the front desk (whose name annoyingly I can't remember), was brilliant, booked us into a restaurant at short notice and gave us advice on where to see the otters. The decor in the room was also lovely, nautical which obviously suits the surroundings.||To make sure this sounds like a real review the only very minor negative was the walls being a bit thin. We could hear the couple next door talking in the morning but they seemed to have loud voices. It's such a quaint little fishing/yachting village I can't imagine you'd ever get anyone next door who was rowdy.||Would recommend for anyone, and I'm convinced I'll be going back in the not too distant future, even with a 10 hour flight from London...
