Two of us get here about an hour before the closing time. Our food was good. Fried fish and shrimps were nice and juicy. Fried oysters were not that great but okay. French fries were okay as well. By biggest concern is about the check. It says "18% gratitude" and it already included into the total amount of the check. Please allow me to remind you Merriam-Webster's definition of the word gratitude. It is "a feeling of appreciation or thanks". Gratitude is a voluntery decision of your customers. If it is mandatory and you include it in a check, it actually calls added price. And I can't believe that after you already added 18% to a check, you have nerves to ask for additional tip on the final check. Really?! Only one reason I didn't cross over 18% on my check is because I feel very bad for Alayna, our server. She had to run food alone, pick up dirty dishes, and wipe off tables. And the lady manager who came to our table to ask about our food was barely able to speak and hold herself straight because of the alcohol intoxication. How can you possibly run this business in that kind of condition? No wonder why there are so many resent negative reviews about this place. This bar & grill is in a great location on the boardwalk! Plenty of seating inside & out. The food is well priced. They definitely take pride in preparing their food. Everything tastes as it should.. you dont get fries that taste like fish. They definitely change their oil as it all tasted very fresh and as it should. I absolutely recommend the Shrimp basket! They are at least the size of a half dollar and plump! The breading is fabulous and the fries that come with it are great! It is the best fried shrimp I have ever had!! My husband loves the Bang Bang Shrimp.. it has a slightly, spicy Asian sauce on it with scallions and it was delicious as well!! You get a good amount for your money. We also had the Shrimp & Crab dip- excellent as well! For 2 beers, the crab dip, our 2 meals and a soda we spent about $50.00. We went back for lunch and had 2 sodas and the 2 shrimp meals and spent $30.00. As it is on the corner there is a great breeze because it is open on two sides. I would recommend a sweater as it does get chilly. The waitress we had was great and we were served very quickly. I will DEFINITELY be back everytime I am in Myrtle Beach.. The worse. With over a 1000 reviews this dark, dank hole in the wall takes the lowest. From the moment you walk in the cigarette smoke smell permeates from every nook and cranny. The overhead doors for windows are dirty and the tables not bussed. With a mandated 18% gratitude (signs all over the place) it leaves little in motivation for servers and it shows! Service is slow and drinks are overpriced as a smaller than a red solo cup Strawberry daiquiri cost nine dollars. Server brought us the wrong food and his drop and dash approach left no time to try and explain this to him. We ordered the Flounder-Shrimp combo and got the Seafood Platter and charged more for oysters we do not like and did not eat. The fried flounder was heavily coated and the batter sluiced off the mushy fish. The few shrimp were your standard restaurant chain shrimp and the tablespoon scoop of coleslaw was ok. They managed to fry the fries and they were crispy. For lunch we had two entrees, two drinks and a beer that cost over $70! I wish I had gone to Bubba’s Fish Shack for better service, quality and cost. For what it’s worth, this place offers little and left a bad taste in my mouth.
