I booked this room months in advance based on the pool and location alone. It was for a trip for my wife's 40th birthday. Over the months, I read HORRIBLE reviews about this place, and my stomach turned because I booked non-refundable. I don't know what the Karen's posting about this place have an issue with, but it had nothing to do with the hotel.
The hotel is dated, sure. But you aren't booking it for any other reason than the price and maybe the pool, the same as I did.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a lot of respect. Our check-in was quick, and we were up to our room in no time. One fear conquered. The hallway carpet is dated but not in horrible condition. I hadn't planned on spending much time in the hallway. Our room interior was amazingly updated. The downfall? Tiny windows that don't open. They are about 6' up on the wall, so I could see through it, but my wife couldn't. What was outside the window? A highway that you could barely see through the amazing greenery (trees and bushes). Let's face it, they aren't tearing new holes in the building walls because some cranky pants, poor reviewers don't like small windows. The room was amazingly renovated. Laminate floors everywhere but the bathroom (that had new tile in it). Walk in shower. Lots of room. The only bad part about the bathroom was that there was so much room, and the toilet paper was hard to reach from the toilet. The shower head is big, and the water pressure is decent. Takes a while for the water to heat up, but it is great. The soap falls through the grated shelves in the shower, though. And the door to the bathroom is heavy to slide closed. All of these are minor details that would not lead me to leave any kind of negative review. Just personal observations.
The beds were super comfy, and there were lots of pillows. 2 beds were nicely spaced out. Lots of storage space and lighting.
The pool area is kept fairly clean. I don't imagine they are going in there often during the 12 hours the pool is open to clean up after people. Adults were drinking there, and it was nicely lit after dark. There were always clean towels available.
The breakfast is probably above average continental breakfast. Again, the staff was welcoming every morning, even if it was 10 minutes before breakfast was over. Waffle station, bagels, muffins, and toast available. Cereal, yogurt, grits, and oatmeal, some fresh fruit. Ready prepared was scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties or ham, and biscuits. Coffee & juice. I'm sure I'm missing something, but it was above average for sure!
Quick walk to the convenience store on the corner if you didn't want what was in the vending machines.
Just past that is the pedestrian bridge across the Cumberland river to Broadway/Music row, with ebikes and scooters available to rent on the close side.
The shuttle downtown was unavailable, but we rented a car on our 3rd day, and parking was 25$/day. We knew that going in. But my wife has a bummed ankle, so parking close was a benefit. You can park downtown for cheaper and walk to the hotel. Most parking downtown seemed safe enough.
Again, I have no idea what people are complaining about. There is no way this hotel didn't meet peoples' expectations in every way enough to give it 1 ⭐️. There were no bugs, and the staff were friendly 99.9% of the time (everyone has a bad day). The only thing was the NFL stadium is building (I'm assuming) a parkade. So there was some construction noise during the day, and temporary road closures one way out of the parking lot. Not in their control.
We would happily stay here again. Don't let the negative reviews fool you. I didn't take a picture of the room, only the pool. But we COMPLETELY enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the wonderful staff at this Comfort Inn for making us feel at home...
Read moreThis letter was written and sent to Steven Collier on 9/25/23. As of today, 10/3/23, I have received a response.
I am writing to express my displeasure with the Comfort Inn & Suites location at 303 Interstate Dr, Nashville, TN. My stay was from Sept 21-24, 2023. A girls' trip to Nashville was very eventful due to some challenging items/events that took place at this location. Room 418 and Room 322.
Challenging Items: Room 418 Stale/Musty Smelling Rooms - the occupants sanitized the room to rid the musty, stale scent in the room. Orange Desk Chair - unclean/dirty presentation. The chair was stained and dirty. No one felt comfortable sitting in the chair. We called multiple times during our stay to have it replaced. It was finally replaced on Saturday evening. Bathroom Door - the door did not fully close. The Visitor - the huge cockroach found crawling on the ceiling in the bedroom (see pic).
Room 322 Stale/Musty smelling room. Dirty Mattress - the foldout bed had a mattress filled with crumbs. Orange Desk Chair - same as listed above.
With these unpleasant events, we still paid full price for our stay because the team on site did not have any authority to discount our lack of a pleasant stay.
I ask, would you want to pay full price if you were not fully satisfied? I find paying full price for this stay unacceptable. Have you had a hotel stay that was less than pleasurable and paid full price? Either way, I deem it to be unacceptable. It was unacceptable that a manager was not on staff during our stay. If a manager was on staff, his presence was unknown to us. I find the above referenced items unacceptable.
I hope you had a quick resolve that does not include "free nights on your next stay with us".
I hope you agree.
We paid this room in full as a manager wasn’t on duty to manage this situation and provide a quick & equitable solution. Again, Mr. Collier has NOT responded.
The only plus is that the staff was friendly and the hotel has a shuttle into Downtown Nashville. The driver was safe...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for our family trip to Nashville and stayed in the family suite, which was perfect for our group of five. The suite is essentially two rooms combined: the main room has two queen beds, a TV, and a bathroom, while the second room is a separate bedroom with a king bed. There was plenty of space for all of us and our luggage, which made for a comfortable stay.|One of the highlights was the continental breakfast offered each morning. The selection was great—waffles, pastries, bagels, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, biscuits, orange and apple juice, plus coffee and tea. Something for everyone!|The hotel also features a fun guitar-shaped pool and includes free parking, which was a huge bonus.|Location-wise, it’s just a 20-minute walk to Broadway, though it doesn’t feel that long. It's a short walk to the pedestrian bridge, and once you’re across, you’re right between Lainey Wilson’s bar and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Super convenient for exploring downtown.|The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. They were always available when we needed extra towels or essentials, which we really appreciated.|A few things we would change about the room setup: with five people, a second bathroom would’ve made getting ready much easier. The main bathroom has the toilet and stand-up shower in one room, but the sink and vanity are located just outside the bathroom. This means you have to open the door and step out to wash your hands, which isn’t ideal.|The biggest downside right now is the construction going on at Nissan Stadium, which is directly behind the hotel. The noise from equipment starts early in the morning and some nights went on until midnight or later. It definitely impacted our sleep and overall experience.|Overall, this hotel worked well for our family trip—spacious, great breakfast, and walkable to downtown—but the construction noise is something to seriously consider if you're planning...
