Saw AC/DC. Bands were awesome, but the venue was terrible. Parking Day 1 Parking in Lot T opened at 3pm. Showed up at 2:45pm and were led to our parking lot. Cop told us wait until 3pm, I put it in park. A couple minutes later, his partner came to my window and asked, "Can I help you?" in a rude tone, his hands on his hips, Barney Fife style. I was answering him, first cop gets out, blows a whistle and starts waving me and the line behind me yelling, "Get out of the road." (This was at 2:57pm) We had to scoot around to not hit each others cars. I asked the next guy in a vest how we are supposed to park and he just told us to leave because the concert was cancelled. So I asked the next guy and even another by the light. They all said, "Show's cancelled. Just go home." I was so mad at the last minute decision, I almost just drove home, but luckily, my wife called the stadium at the nearest gas station. They told us the concert had only been postponed until the next day. (We drove in from out of state and only planned on staying for the concert so we had to scramble to find a hotel.) Parking Day 2 Parking had been moved to 4pm so we show up at 3:45pm. The road was blocked with no signage on how to get in. Only "No U-Turn" signs between a million cones covering several blocks and intersections. I finally cut between a few and fell in line with the rest of the crowd. There was only one lane that was in oncoming traffic and no guards to direct us until we got further into the property. We finally got back to our Lot T where a different cop was sitting. I asked if I need to get behind him and wait the 5-10 minutes until 4pm? He just rolled his eyes and told me, "You can't park on the street, go somewhere else." I asked where I could go. He said, "I don't care, you just can't be here." So I drove off. There were a bunch of cars on a back street so I joined them. We got ran off again by another guard telling us not to park there. Again, we asked where to go. There must a script because he said, "I don't care, you just can't be here." 20+ cars are now U-turning in circles for 5 minutes because of this madness. It only got worse when, at 4pm, we pulled up by our lot (The gate was still not unlocked) so our lot group pulled over to the side with our signals on to let the other lots pass us. The first cop from this day is now on the other side of the street yelling through his speaker, "Get in line, now. This is not a 2 lane road. You need to stop splitting the lane." We were finally let in the lot after a couple minutes, and the parking pass guy was the only friendly face in the entire parking lot. The GA Pit Line There were staff in several different colored polos that I'm not sure knew what each other were doing. Some were telling us we couldn't bring purses in, others were telling us no outside food or drink, but one guy told the woman in front of us she could bring her water bottle, one lady told us no outside merch even if we bought it from the vendor cart. There were also a couple men with sharpies, telling us we had assigned areas based on the numbers on our hand. We deduced that they weren't legit (They had been there since 7am. Staff knew, but really just ignored them.) Once the doors opened at 6pm, we walked through metal detectors. My wife was pulled aside for her clear bag to be inspected, no big deal. It became a big deal when we were separated from our 2 kids (both 12 & under) because they wanted to search me, too. The guard pulled them to the side, last I saw across the sea of people. After waiting more than our comfort zone away from our kids in a crowd, they never searched me. I asked why I was pulled, the guy didn't even look at me, just kept motioning people in. The Pit No Bottle Caps in the Pit, but the thousand empty beer cans and plastic cups are okay? Exiting Every traffic light was turned off and we had to drive in oncoming traffic through a new set of a million cones. We had to turn off GPS because the roads were so blocked off.
I don't care what event comes here, I...
Read moreThis review is really just a placeholder until my family and/or I actually get to enter the stadium and attend an event or even better, watch some good ol' Tennessee Titans football. We walked around the stadium grounds during the weekday (25 & 26 Nov 2024) because we were in town visiting for the first time. It was unfortunate that our visit couldn't align with one of their home games, but I'm sure we'll get to experience a home game before they transition to the new stadium.
I don't live in Nashville but I've been a die-hard Oilers/Titans fan for 32+ years...and embarrassingly, I've never watched my team play a home game ever in my life. However, things could change down the road and my family and I have a goal to watch a home game in this stadium before the team starts playing in the new stadium - which I can't wait to see in person! Living in Las Vegas and seeing Allegiant Stadium (home of the Raiders), it's hard to compare any stadium to that one - I'm clearly not a Raiders fan but it's difficult to turn your head on that almost 2 billion dollar structure - they did a remarkable job with that stadium. My expectations for the new Titans stadium is very high and I'm sure all the Titans fans out there have that same level of expectations.
From what I experienced during that short time, I really liked the stadium and what it has to offer. Aside from the team store employees, I didn't get to interact with any of the stadium employees but I'm sure they're exceptional workers considering the level of hospitality I've witnessed during my week visit in Nashville. The parking situation seemed limited, but I'm sure it's because of the new construction taking place over an entire lot. Since I was in complete awe due to this being my first visit to Nissan Stadium, it's difficult for me to provide an unbiased review, but I'll do my best. Overall, I'll rate this a 4-star stadium (liked it), only because I didn't get to see everything to determine if I truly love this stadium or not. I mean let's be real here, it doesn't matter where the Titans play their home games...it's truly phenomenal when they step foot on that playing surface!
Note: I'll update this review whenever I visit this stadium for...
Read moreThe stadium is efficiently run, decently accessible, has great energy, technologically impressive (the end zone screens are so big, you can see the game perfectly from the bridge even if you can't get a ticket.) My visit today was for the saints game, first time sitting in the 300 level (for past games, I was in club level/200 or lower level/100.) I hadn't been there for maybe 7 years, when it was previously LP field. I think it's definitely much improved... Really, there's almost no "bad" seat/view anywhere, i was in section 317, great view, costs around $150 per seat, vs. twice that much for club level - unless the weather is really bad, I now think uv level isn't worth the extra cost. The stadium is more crowded these days now that the Titans are a hot team, it's nice to see fans getting more involved, there's a definite positive energy. The lines for the bathroom and food are long at peak times but they move quickly. IMO, it's worth it to park in one of the daily flat rate lots on the Broadway side of the river - for example the Hilton charges $23 +tip for valet until 8pm, and it's literally right at the foot of the bridge on 4th st, so you can beat the traffic. The security at Nissan stadium is weird and inconsistent, like sometimes there's a real metal detector, other times not I've never had my bag even glanced at, let alone searched. The concessions is expensive, of course ($12 for a jumbo can if hard seltzer), but I was there for the football primarily not the refreshments - So i just have a couple drinks before going in, there's also a cool tailgate area. Nissan stadium can't take the place of my beloved Superdome, (the Superdome is louder, less clean, more rowdy and chaotic,) but it's a great place to watch an NFL game (or the pro soccer games on Sundays when the Titans are...
