Nestled in the heart of East Nashville, Greko Greek Street Food is a culinary gem that promises a delectable journey through the vibrant flavors of Greece.
Our Greek adventure began with an appetizer platter, an ode to Greek cuisine's quintessential trio – Greek-style hummus, Greek olive oil, and grilled pita. The flavors danced harmoniously on our palates, setting the tone for the culinary voyage ahead. It was an ample portion for two eager food enthusiasts like us, and we were already eager to see what more Greko had in store.
As we ventured into the restaurant, the atmosphere was inviting and relaxed. At Greko, you order your desired dishes at the counter and then find seating wherever you can. Luckily, despite the bustling nature of the eatery, there was ample seating available, and we had no trouble securing a cozy spot for our feast. For those who prefer to dine al fresco, a spacious outdoor patio awaits through a door at the back, a perfect spot for enjoying your meal under the open sky.
One aspect that particularly stood out was the attentive manager, who paid us a visit shortly after our meal was served. His personal touch underscored the restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Watching him gracefully move about the room, it was evident that he takes immense pride in the taste and authenticity of the dishes served at Greko.
Now, let's talk about that 'secret sauce' – a fiery concoction labeled 'spicy.' It caught us by surprise, in the best possible way. Initially, the secret sauce delivered a sweet and tantalizing kick, but before you had a chance to savor the initial sweetness, the spicy fire kicked in. The blend of flavors was nothing short of spectacular. It was a delightful experience that highlighted Greko's commitment to creating bold and memorable tastes.
Before we delve into the dishes we savored, it's worth noting that Greko Greek Street Food's website is a valuable resource for those planning to visit. We recommend checking their website for up-to-date information on operating hours and other essential details.
One more surprise that awaited us at Greko was the efficiency of their service. Our food arrived within five minutes or less, a testament to their commitment to providing a quick and delightful dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the stars of the show – the dishes we savored at Greko Greek Street Food. We decided to try two entrees from their menu, and they did not disappoint. Athenian Chicken:For those who adore tender and succulent chicken, the Athenian Chicken is a must-try. This dish features bone-in Springer Mountain Farms rotisserie chicken, expertly drizzled with a honey-lemon sauce that adds a sweet and tangy touch to the perfectly cooked meat. We paired this delightful main course with a Greko salad, a refreshing and crisp side that served as an ideal complement to the flavors of the chicken.
Greko Salad:If you're in the mood for a lighter option that still bursts with Mediterranean goodness, the Greko Salad is a great choice. It's a vibrant medley of mixed greens, juicy tomatoes, Greek feta cheese, Kalamata olives, crispy chickpeas, zesty green onions, refreshing cucumber, and grilled pita. The crown jewel of this salad is the creamy Greko dressing, a luscious blend of flavors that perfectly balances the ingredients. To make it a more substantial meal, we added live fire Greek rotisserie Springer Mountain Farms hand-pulled chicken. Every component of this salad was incredibly fresh, contributing to the overall quality of the dish.
In conclusion, our culinary journey at Greko Greek Street Food was nothing short of extraordinary. The flavors, the ambiance, and the commitment to authenticity left a lasting impression. Whether you're a seasoned Greek food enthusiast or a newcomer to this tantalizing cuisine, Greko is a must-visit destination in East...
Read moreFirstly, the food was amazing. I would never wrongly review a place just because of a poor experience with the staff, but mine was just that and that is why I am giving this establishment 3 stars… I am on vacation with my girlfriend and after driving 10 hours and finally getting to our hotel last night we decided to make this place our first stop. We each ordered one beer along with some food. The younger male staff member checked our IDs, naturally, and another young woman served us after seating ourselves at their small bar. We didn’t think anything was wrong as we are well into our mid 20s but kept getting glances from various staff members before being approached informally by the young male who took our order. He didn’t ask to see our IDs again but rather just asked us ( awkwardly and simply ) our ages in the middle of our meal. After responding, I asked why he was asking and instead of a professional response he walked away, blatantly ignoring my question and continued to speak to the staff / exchange MORE glances. I understand we both look young but there is a right and wrong way to go about anything and I felt extremely uncomfortable and both me and my girlfriend could hardly enjoy my meal in peace. I then asked a female staff member if there was a problem and explained the situation and she just said “you both look young.” Again, understandable, but we STILL received glances / could tell this entire situation and us were being discussed making the meal hard to enjoy and our first experience in Nashville rather stiff. I’d had enough as we never received a formal apology and continued to get the third degree from staff members, before the male re-approached, trying to echo the same excuse “sorry, you just both look young.” I explained how rude they’d ALL been and if it was that big of an issue they could either scan or bring someone down to scan our IDs as they are in fact valid. The entire experience was extremely uncomfortable and again, innocent in theory but executed horribly in a professional setting. I realize this is a family owned establishment and think they should really evaluate how they deal with customers / how they allow younger members of their staff to inquire about issues because the gossip and glares were juvenile and...
Read moreJuly 15th response to business: Every word of my original review is 100% TRUE. Quite frankly I was disappointed to have to leave it. However, your response just now, supports every word that was said in my original post. What would have avoided this review is a simple apology when I called to ask about my canceled order. It's not the customer's fault that your website is still taking orders that you can't fulfill, and that you failed to update your website to inform cutomers of this intergration and your inablity to provide delivery. If you had apologized and recognized the inconvenience you caused a customer I would have accepted the apology, decided whether or not to reorder and no review would have been needed. But you somehow failed to realize the cornerstone of good customer service.
Original post: I would love to say that the food and service were amazing...but I can't. I spent the entire afternoon gathering orders for a company lunch for the next day, placed the order online, requested delivery and paid ($150++). The order was accepted and out of the blue I get a notice that it had been canceled. No call from the restaurant. Nothing. So I called and was told "Yep, your order was canceled" I had to dig further into the conversation to get an explanation. Apparently they no longer want to deal with Door Dash, and I get that; however, that was no excuse for the FLIPPANT way this was handled. They explained that they are going through some type of "intergration", delivery was not available, and that I could pick up. But when I asked if I could email the order that was just placed I was basically told that if I wanted food I would have to go back online and order again. So no apology for the inconvenience, no attempt to go the extra mile... We will be...
